this shows this pier has no fish
A lot of sand dollars! 🙌
on the other side of the marina/pier where Polly’s was there were a lot of fish to catch , calico bass , bonita , mackerel , but that was 50 years ago
redondo beach has always been my favorite place in L.A.. I’ve never seen this side b4 lol, this is pretty dope!! it feels like I was checking in on another planet or flying over deserts.. either way great footage
Beautiful water world, a bit murky due to surf but that one ray you saw was stunning
I really like what your'e doing here. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching I appreciate that
I remember going to that pier every weekend with my dad when it was made from wood and the 2 arcades they had in the early mid 80's. Thanks for sharing
Omg you got in really close to when my cell phone fell thru the cracks of the pier about a year ago 🤭
Thank you for doing this video. Never knew there were so many sand dollars down there. Found a tiny one that washed up on the beach around the time this was made. I hadn't seen one in years, other than those sold in some of the souvenir shops.
Nice!!
My parents took me there to Redondo beach pier when I was a kid. We would get some fresh crabs steamed at thr fish market and sit in thr picnic tables cracking open fresh cooked crabs. There used to he an arcade there. Then an R/C race track. There used to he an old submarine e moored in the small harbor open for tours. Boy that was 55 years ago.
Hi Ann, That arcade was the fun factory. Redondo beach was such a fun place to be back in the day :)
Love it, subscribed.
One thing I notice in these videos is how strong the current is. People have drowned jumping from the pier due to it
Wow, I didn’t know all those sand dollars were down there.
It's the only place I've seen with so many of them
*Ya, they're starved, and filtering the polluted water in their maximum reaching position; they'll be gone, or along the shoreline soon.* ☢💩☣☠😵🪦
This was so cool to see !
I watch too much true crime I was expecting to see a dead body lol
18:07 baby sting ray bottom left so cute
Wow! So many sand dollars
It's the only place I've seen them so far too
@@ReellyToteAPoleFishing I'm going Saturday hopefully there will be some washed up
Try Pismo beach pier. I caught many sand sharks
You should try the Manhattan beach pier, it used to be way bigger and had a giant wave motor on it a very long time ago
Have you ever dove on that sunken pier from the 30's that's just to the south of this one? It used to be fun in the late 70's.
that's cool the sand dollars. But where are the fish?
Any sign of "The Edge" or "Cattleman's" restaurants down there, they were both wiped out during a huge storm, among other establishments decades ago.......
I haven't noticed anything yet, but I plan to see more of the northern side next time
I used to see sand dollars in huntington beach in the 1970-80s but not now? What happened to them?
I was there in the 90’s and ran into a massive Great White on the pier.
I used to surf there when I was a kid. All those round things in the sand are sand dollars right?
Got 4 sculpin fish right off this pier about 2 weeks ago
That's awesome 😎 it's reelly clean there, I definitely would go back for a day of fishing
What did you use ?
@@juansanchez7929 gulp shrimp
@@JoJo-gr1rp you used lure or bait an what setup rig ?
Sad that there's no fish.
My older brother and I got caught in the undercurrent near the Redondo Pier and started getting dragged out and got saved by my other brother. Thankfully we're still here today
Give all thanks to my brother 3rd inline should always been last lol you know better my living loving brother that's always considered something other than truth... Seriously look about! Look deeper if so be possible? You can lie to yourself all you want.. all truths reign true no matter how long
duwp. i tried just a hacksaw blade. needs the saw with fine. grinder.
That's an awful lot of green algae for a salt water environment.
That usually means someone's dumping sewage in the water nearby
Just don’t tell the IRS about those sand dollars, or else they will want a piece of that clam
😹😹😹
Any suggestions on what to rig an bait to have an hooks ?
I usually use 2/0 circle hooks and 1 or 2 oz pyramid sinkers to catch the bat rays late at night but during the day it seems different, they spend more time higher in the water when the water is moving faster
Scuba tanks or freediving? Didn't get tangled with some guys fishing lines?
It's just the camera going in, I have it mounted to weight and tied to rope that I carry from above
Thought it would be a spider’s web of fishing lines!
Any fish around ?
in mr crabs voice ahh my dollars
I really thought I'd see more fishing tackle trash. Glad I was wrong.
For being in the LA area, it turned out a lot cleaner than I had assumed it would be
Have you done newport, I've heard there is a big whole to the right end of the pier
There is a reserve there. You can actually see fish.
Thought I'd see a ton of garbage...glad I didn't!
is there any fish there? I wanna go fishing there but i want to know if i can get any bites there
Yeah I saw at least 4 species that day
Mostly mackerel
Never
will
Anyone

Do more at another pier
Thanks for watching, any suggestions of where you'd want to see ?

This is just downstream from the Hyperion Sewage plant
You are braver than me. I was born on solid ground and thats a good place for me. Sharks eat slow moving warm blooded creatures. Nice vid. 👍🙂
Make this video 1 minute
What are all those things in the sand? Mussels? Clams? Rocks?
Sand dollars.
It feels like the film is reversed
That’s just one spot do the whole pier
Remind me not to fish there ever!
And that, is why I dont fish Redondo Pier
TOTAL WASTE OF TIME.
Good thing you're not doing anything better
Did you see any lobster 🦞 ? I’m currently lobstering and I haven’t had any luck.
My stepdad caught 50-100 lobsters there in the late 70’s
