A lot of it just is best to start building and see what ideas come into your head,I know for me personally I build outlines of things I want featured in my build for example if I wanted to have a certain tower shape and height I’ll make it out of scaffolding so I can visualize it better :) no such thing as a wrong build and you can always critique a build :) Happy building!

I haven't seen new life for a while, but I thought it had the create mod. If so, you should automate stone/stone brick. There are heaps of designs for cobblestone generators, the best one is the one popularised by Triobian. You can then use an encased fan and lava to smelt cobblestone, and a mechanical saw to convert it into stone brick.
Aqua sausage throne room, maybe some fancy half merman guard statues along the walls in many difficult merman races. Maybe go an entirely different way and make the walls all into a giant aquarium from all sides, just full aquarium walls could be hella cool, would feel like your under the sea but it is all glassed in except for the roof where you jump up or down again to the water floor. That could also be super cool 🥰😍

Put a gaint glowing orb with like blue and purple glass with the cubozoa inside it in the castle, or floating above the island

If you have a moss farm, you can also use a mixer to make mossy cobblestone.
