    With several generations under its belt, the EZONE 100 continues its trajectory as one of the games most versatile and user-friendly player's racquets. Offering a slightly more forgiving and powerful response than the EZONE 98, this racquet not only rewards fast swings with easy targeting, it also gives you that signature Yonex feel (think plush and precise). For 2022 Yonex adds 2G NAMD SPEED to the graphite layup in the shaft, resulting in a more powerful response with better ball feedback. Yonex has also improved the beam construction, adding a thicker, more convex cross section in the shaft (for stability) along with a thinner frame face (for a softer response). Other technologies include Yonex’s time-tested ISOMETRIC head shape, a unique design feature that makes Yonex racquets feel more generous and forgiving than conventionally shaped equivalents. Ultimately, this update not only keeps a good thing going, it also recaptures the great feel of past iterations. Intermediate and advanced players looking for a speedy and versatile player's racquet should add this to their demo list.

    For last version, I chose ezone 100 for playing mostly on clay over 98, I am a 4.5 player which change my line from vcore 95 to ezone due to be easier getting more power now that I have changed hard for clay courts. I felt better with my FH and serve with the 100 one, but my OHB is not very comfortable., long rallies are more bearable but,as you say, when going for a winner sometimes a bit more control should be nice. What would you recommend me? I'd go for 98 as I always pretend to attack and finish the point on midcourt but I am afraid losing that easy power that allows me to keep the point alive on clay. Thanks in advance for your labor helping us with your videos and podcasts.

      Now that you have become accustomed to the EZONE 100, it would likely be the easiest transition into this newer version of the EZONE 100. That said, the EZONE 98 does help a bit with precision, and finding the corners of the court a bit better when being aggressive or hitting approach shots. As you mentioned, the power does come a bit easier with the 100 compared to the 98, so I guess it comes down to how much you are willing to sacrifice between the two. Personally, I favor the added control from the 98 headsize, and I usually add a bit of weight to the head of the racquet to get a little more plow and power. Troy, TW

    I used to play with the Ai98 then I gave the 2015 Ezone 100 a chance but it felt too stiff, no control, and not as maneuverable. The current Yonex I have is the 2021 VCore 95, but it has become too small sweet spot for my aging self. I’m hoping the 2022 Ezone 100 will be different from my past experiences with it.

  • @QawiemJamil

    I'm strongly considering this one as my second racket! I own a Pro Staff 97L, chosen for control while compromising on power. The idea was to use it for casual tennis and to keep rallies going, which is easy with this racket with slicing and topspin, even if I choose to do full-on aggressive swings. However, occasionally I would play against much stronger opponents who hits with a lot of pace and my returns feel very lacking. If I want more power, without having to change my playstyle completely, which one should I go for - Ezone 100 or Vcore 100?

    • @mskcrc
      @mskcrc 2 роки тому +3

      It's entirely dependent on your playstyle. Do you play with a ton of topspin? VCORE will help you swing harder with a semi- or western grip. EZONE just feels a lot more forgiving to me. (I own both, as well as older EZONE 100 and EZONE 98+ sticks, and a VCORE 100 and 98 as well.)
      You should try both of them. They do not play very similarly.

    How is this compared to the Head 360+ Speed MP? In terms of spin, launch angle, and maneuverability? Thanks!!!

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 роки тому +6

      This one has a lower swingweight, and maneuvers a bit easier compared to the 360+ Speed MP. Spin and launch angle is pretty close between the two. String spacing is pretty close between the two, maybe a bit wider spaced with the EZONE 100, but it seems pretty close. Maybe for some players the maneuverability factor might help with racquet head speed, and topspin. Troy, TW

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 роки тому +2

      Both offer easy power, spin, and good comfort. The Boom MP is a bit more flexible, so maybe the slight edge in comfort, but the EZONE 100 is very good for comfort as well. The feel on the Boom is pretty muted, so its great for comfort and dampening, but one thing our testers noted is that they sometimes struggled with feeling the ball on contact, and the also the trajectory and depth of the resulting shot was sometimes a little unpredictable. The EZONE 100 feels a bit more precise, and has better overall control and predictability. Our TW playtesters Brittany, and Tiffany were on the reviews for both of these racquets, and they are big fans of the EZONE 100. -Troy, TW

    How similar is this to the pure drive 2020?Does it have similar levels of power with more comfort?Or is it really the same. I'm looking at an alternative to the pure drive as I found that frame to stiff for me. Looking at the head speed mp(300g)\ezone 98 and head radical mp also. Thanks

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 роки тому +4

      We found the power to be up there with the Pure Drive, but with slightly more control coming from the EZONE 100 (2022). As far as comfort goes, definitely a more plush and comfortable feel coming from the EZONE 100 (2022). So definitely could be a good option for similar power to a Pure Drive, but a bit more control, and better comfort. I would say The Speed MP, and EZONE 98 would be even more control, and the Radical MP likely feeling the most precise of the bunch. Troy, TW

    Thx....

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 роки тому

      EZONE 100 packs easier power, and swings with easier maneuverability. The VCORE Pro offers a bit more control, and feel for the ball. They both have pretty good comfort, although the VCORE Pro is more flexible, which gives a softer feel and helps to reduce vibration or shock. That said, with a shoulder issue, it might not be a problem, so much of racquet stiffness but rather maneuverability, and the EZONE 100 is a bit more maneuverable, while still being pretty comfortable for its slightly higher stiffness compared to the VCORE Pro 100. Spin is pretty similar between the two, both being very spin friendly. This 2022 version is a bit more flexible, so gives it a bit more plush feel, and slightly more comfort, as well as feeling slightly easier to control, although provide pretty easy access to power. Troy, TW

  • @Nautijan
    @Nautijan 2 роки тому

    Excellent work as always. Does the Ezone 100 or 98 come close to the Speed MP ? Power, spin en and control are quite perfect for me on the speed but I think the upperhoop is quite stiff (mistimed serves or hard volleys hurt my elbow a bit). Somehow I struggle also with my 2hbh with the speed. Forehand is a dream. With the radical mp it is the otherway, go figure.

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 роки тому +3

      Definitely a different feel from the EZONE's, as they are pretty plush feeling and have good vibration dampening, but also somewhat muted in the feel. The EZONE 100 will be a bit more power, or easier power the Speed MP, and the EZONE 98 a bit more control, and precision. With the Yonex head shape, and increased sweet-spot, I would think you might want to try the EZONE 98, although the 100 is really nice as well, if you don't mind a bit more power on tap. Troy, TW

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  Рік тому +2

      If I were to customize the racquet for her, as I know her specs pretty well, I would likely get her dialed in with swingweight, maybe ad some weight near 10/2 or 12 o'clock, so that SW is somewhere around 330-335. Then once she feels pretty dialed in with swing speed and timing, then add some tail-weight, maybe get her closer to 12 ounces or so, and that would bring the headlight balance back a bit. Troy, TW

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  Рік тому +1

      @@GreenTimYoung, Yeah, sometimes adding weight isn't always because the racquet is lacking something, but more because some players like Michelle and I prefer the feel of swinging a heftier frame, swing speed, timing, etc. Brittany plays with the EZONE 100 in stock form, and plays very well with it, and she has always preferred that type of spec. So it is a very individual thing when it comes to the specs a player prefers. Troy, TW

      If you have used previous versions, this should be an easy adjustment. The main difference will be a slight change in feel, and we would say the DR 100 was maybe a tad bit more powerful as well. With the softer response on the new 100, I had more control and a plusher feel on contact compared to the current version (my main racquet). I demo'd both versions thinking I would go with the 98 this time, but I stuck with the 100 and plan on doing a hybrid string setup to add a little more control and attempt to bridge that gap with the 98.

Some players with a history of arm problems, or tennis elbow might want to go with a softer string, such as nice multifilament like Tecnifibre NRG2, or Prince Premier Power. This racquet has pretty good comfort overall. You could consider experimenting with the string and tension a bit. I would say for more comfort, you could try a full bed of multifilament like the X-Natural, or something like Tecnifibre NRG2 or Head Velocity MLT, and also maybe consider coming down in tension to around 55 pounds. Also, if you are up for experimenting you might also think about a little weight customization. A little bit of weight added to the sides of the hoop (3 and 9 o'clock) can help with stability of the racquet on contact, and also will increase the swingweight, which can help with plow through and depth of shot. Here is some more information on how to add weight to your racquet and some of the benefits. www.tennis-warehouse.com/learning_center/how_to/customize_your_tennis_racquet.html. Troy, TW

      Biggest difference will likely come down to the feel. With the Clash having that softer, and overall more plush feel. Power/control is hugely different, but maybe a bit more of a controlled feel with the Clash 100, and a bit more lively with the EZONE 100 2022. Troy, TW

      Comparing the EZONE 100 (standard length) compared to the EZONE 98+, the EZONE 100 will basically be a more user-friendly racquet, easier to swing or maneuver, and has a slightly bigger or more forgiving sweet-spot. The EZONE 98+ swings with a much heftier feel or higher swingweight, and has a bit more of a precise feel from the 98 headsize. Troy, TW

      @@tenniswarehouse great helpful feedback, Troy - many thanks. It seems that it’s leaning me towards the Ezone 100+ , do you feel that it would be a more natural evolution for someone coming out of a Ezone 98+ who’s just looking for added forgiveness? Also regarding strings.. on my current 98+ , I have vs 17 mains with lynx tour 17 at 55/52; sometimes balls can sail a tad long. With the added power of the 100+ would you recommend an hybrid like strike as mains let’s say at 50 with VS crossed at 53 ? Or just go full poly to mitigate risk of getting a rocket launcher on my hands? I’m always craving for predictability… many thanks again, Troy!

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 роки тому +1

      It seems like the EZONE 100+ would likely be a pretty smooth transition coming from the EZONE 98+, especially if you like that higher swingweight (it doesn't bother you maneuverability wise, and the easy power and depth. Not to say that you wouldn't like the EZONE 100, and with likely some added weight to the hoop, it could be a good option as well. Sometimes with standard length racquets you get that feeling of more connectedness to the ball and shot placement, but not quite the added boost on shots and plow through of the extended length. As far as strings go, I tend to prefer a full bed of a poly like Hyper-G or Lynx Tour (usually 1.25mm) around like 45 to 48 pounds, but I don't usually have arm issues, and it helps maximize control and spin. So if you go with the hybrid, maybe increase tension a bit, or if you go full poly maybe drop tension a bit, but in the end find what is best for you arms in terms of comfort and health. Troy, TW

      Very similar specs overall, but even though the stiffness is the same, we would give the slight edge in overall arm comfort to the EZONE 100 2022, having really good vibration dampening and a more plush feel. Both are very spin friendly, but maybe just the slight edge in spin with the Pure Aero. We also noticed a bit more control from the EZONE 100 2022, especially in the aspect of hitting a slightly flatter shot, or on the slice, when compared to the Pure Aero. The Pure Aero is is maybe a bit more like the VCORE 100 in the way it plays. Troy, TW

      Yonex recommends that all their racquets be strung as two-piece, and in this case especially since the mains end/tie-off at the bottom (near the throat) it should be strung as a two-piece. You could potentially string it one piece, around the world, but since Yonex recommends two-piece, if for some reason they can prove the racquet was strung one-piece or improperly, then it may be means to void the one-year manufacturer warranty.
