The use of the crescent moon as a symbol on mosques is not rooted in Islamic scripture or the early traditions of Islam. Here's an explanation of its symbolic meaning and historical origins:
      Symbolic Meaning
      Connection to Lunar Calendar:
Islam relies on a lunar calendar for significant religious events, such as Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha. The moon symbolizes this connection to the Islamic calendar but does not hold any inherent religious or spiritual meaning in Islamic theology.
      Unity and Community:
For many Muslims, the crescent moon has come to symbolize the global Muslim community and Islamic culture, though this is a cultural development rather than a religious mandate.
      Adoption by Muslim Empires:
The use of the crescent moon as an Islamic symbol likely began during the Ottoman Empire (1299-1923). The Ottomans adopted the crescent moon and star, which were already symbols of Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul), and they became associated with the empire and, by extension, Islam. This was more a political and cultural choice than a religious one.

I am an online Arabic teacher. I teach one-on-one online. This course is for learning the Arabic language properly, including:
      1. Grammar
      2. Poetry
      3. Qur'anic examples
I hope the one who takes this course will stick with Arabic for the rest of his life since I focus a lot on the basics and build strong foundation. After this, learning any dialect should become easier. In fact, I believe after taking this course, he himself will be capable of teaching others.

The dome at the top. It is for acoustics and if you want to truly understand it, he needs to go to ancient old mosques. The minarets were used to amplify the call and every line, material had a function. Nowadays … we have ac and speakers and etc for the mosque but the true architecture to me is the ancient old architecture. We are copying and calling it tradition and give some sort of mystical function to it nowadays it seems.

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is venerated by Muslims as the final prophet of Islam, but his influence extends far beyond the boundaries of religion. His life and teachings continue to inspire people from diverse backgrounds and beliefs to strive for moral excellence, compassion, justice, and humility. His legacy as the best role model of humanity is a testament to the enduring power of his character and the universal principles he embodied. Whether through his ethical conduct, his commitment to justice, or his unwavering compassion, Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) life serves as a timeless guide for individuals and societies seeking to cultivate virtuous qualities and build a more just and compassionate world.
Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), referred to as the "Seal of the Prophets," holds a unique and revered place in the hearts of over a billion Muslims around the world. He is not only considered the final prophet of Islam but also the best role model for humanity. His life and teachings provide a profound example of moral excellence, compassion, and leadership that transcends religious boundaries.
      1. Moral Integrity
One of the most striking aspects of Prophet Muhammad's (SAAW) character was his unwavering moral integrity. His truthfulness, honesty and trustworthiness earned him the titles of “As-Sadiq” and “Al-Amin” even before he revealed the divine text. He upheld these qualities throughout his life, setting a high standard for truthfulness, honesty and ethics that continues to inspire people of all faiths.
      2. Compassion and Empathy
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was known for his deep compassion and empathy towards all living beings. He showed kindness to orphans, widows, and the poor, emphasizing the importance of caring for the less fortunate. His famous saying, “He is not a believer who eats his fill while his neighbor is hungry,” underscores the need for empathy and social responsibility.
      3. Tolerance and Pluralism
Prophet Muhammad (SAAW) promoted a message of tolerance and coexistence in a diverse society. He welcomed people of different faiths and backgrounds and established the Charter of Medina, which granted equal rights and protection to all residents, regardless of their beliefs. This document serves as a historical testament to his commitment to religious freedom and harmony.
      4. Justice and Equality
The Prophet's (PBUH) sense of justice and commitment to equality is evident in his teachings and actions. He declared that all humans are equal in the eyes of God, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or social status. He challenged the prevailing tribal hierarchies and sought to eliminate discrimination and injustice.
      5. Humility and Modesty
Despite his elevated status as a prophet, Muhammad (PBUH) led a life of simplicity and humility. He dressed modestly, ate frugally, and often helped with household chores. This modesty endeared him to his followers and emphasized the importance of humility in the pursuit of spiritual growth.
      6. Leadership and Statesmanship
Prophet Muhammad (SAAW) exhibited exceptional leadership qualities. He united disparate tribes and communities in Arabia under the banner of Islam, demonstrating remarkable leadership and strategic skills. His leadership served as a model for subsequent Muslim rulers and leaders worldwide.
      7. Family Values
The Prophet's (PBUH) family life provides another dimension to his exemplary character. His loving and respectful treatment of his wives and children serves as a model for healthy and happy family life and relationships.
      8. Forgiveness and Mercy
One of the most powerful lessons from the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAAW) is his capacity for forgiveness and mercy. Even in the face of persecution and hostility, he advocated for forgiveness over retaliation, exemplifying the Quranic teaching that “good and evil are not equal. Repel evil with what is better.” The best tribute to the Prophet (PBUH) is act on his legacy wholeheartedly.

He also kept and sold slaves, as well as segs slaves, had multiple wives (inc a child bride, if you accept the hadiths about Aisha), oversaw massacres (Khaybar e.g - after which he clearly 🍇d Saffiya), demanded protection money (like a mafia boss) and stole property. There have been 10s of thousands of better examples of people throughout history.

As someone who was "forced" by his father into being religious, I had massive resentment towards Islam and Muslims. Forced to memorize the Qura'an by the age of 12, forced to do all my prayers on time or it was the belt...etc. Wasn't a good way. It made me bitter, agnostic and borderline aethiest. For some 12 or so years of my life, I was on a personal vendetta to question everything about Islam.
As a young Arab individual who grew up in the US, I thought my assumptions and personal digs at Islam were top tier. I thought I had the answer. But as a I grew older, and ALLAH gave me more Hidayah (gift, in this context meaning guidance) and the more I continued to attempt to poke holes in Islam, the more I began to understand what I was forced to memorize.
Now, Alhamdu Li ALLAH (Thanks and praises to ALLAH), I'm a stronger Muslim than I have ever been. I still believe my dad went about it the wrong way, but I am now grateful for what I have been "forced" to learn. I have now taken my same debating skills and knowledge against Muslims and Islam and now, I instead use it to defend both.
So, please. Feel free to question Islam all you want. I'm sure Brother Ali will be more than happy to provide you with whatever answers he may have. And if you'd like a perspective and an explanation on things from someone who was against Islam and is now for it, I'd be more than happy.

2:27 domes were actually made because back then, roofs were not well reinforced so there was a large risk of collapse, so domes always played an engineering role to support the roof by reducing its flat surface, same thing with big gates, they are usually curved and pointing upwards so the weight above it doesn't cause it to collapse. So yeah it was just made as an engineering method back then and although it might be a little useless now, architects follow the general style of mosque building since the 7th century.

The criteria (as much as i know):
    - a clean place
    - not in old graveyard or like it
    - no pictures no statues
Any other thing is for convenience of decore (carpets- domes -microphones...)
mosques don't have to be a building even it could be just 4 walls no roof.

The reason why women is at back is that the different postures of praying involves bending down and that would be inappropriate for women to stand infront of men, to avoid distraction as its the place and time for God not for lust and minds wondering around. WOMEN is repected more by valuing them and keeping them protected.❤

This is one wisdom that we derive from the teaching of God and The Prophet, a lot of the times the wisdoms are not explicit, and it is something we derive from the teachings. That's always the primary answer to why we do certain things, because God who is the Creator of all creation knows us better than we know ourselves, and knows what is best for us, so by definition all his commandments including segregating the genders in the Mosque are done for our benefit, so we can focus on the connecting with God, rather than getting distracting thoughts about the opposite gender.
This actually happened to me recently when I went my local mosque, I was a bit late for the final prayer of the day Isha, and the masjid is on the smaller side so it was very full. I ended up in the final row, right in front of the women, and right away my mind is getting distracting thoughts, and most of them are not even lustful, but even worrying about random things, did i comb the back of my hair properly? Is my shirt tucked correctly? Am i standing too far back? My attention gets split between focusing on God, and worrying about what other people think, and it tends to happen more around the opposite gender, and I don't think I'm the only one, perhaps we have an innate desire to want to look more presentable to the opposite gender? I definitely notice that for sure. So this command has many wisdoms behind it. And this is just one of them.

Just my thoughts on the question at 16:30... the main reason you see a lot of people from the Middle East coming to the USA, especially young people, is education. Islam encourages us to pursue education, and because of education standards being usually being lower, people are culturally encouraged to go to international institutions for education.

Some Muslims move to countries like the U.S. seeking safety and opportunities, as some of the places they come from have experienced conflict and hardship due to external interventions.🇪🇺 For example, countries like Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, and Palestine have faced significant challenges because of the wars and instability caused by foreign powers including US, UN. So, while we value our traditions and social values, sometimes people seek refuge or better prospects in other countries due to circumstances beyond their control

Look at it this way. The Pharisees/Jews are all about the rules and putting too much rules on the people, which made them focus only on being "Holy" and they were prideful. In Christianity they've dropped many of the rules and are too focused on the heart / spirituality. Islam is a balance of both and the Quran helps guide us to be balanced. Sometimes its hard, but we have to stay in the middle path.

The crescent moon is merely a symbol used to represent the lunar calendar, which is central to Islamic practices like determining the timing of Ramadan and Eid. The moon itself does not symbolize anything divine or be an object of idolatry. The Quran says in verse

The quran says to pray but doesn’t say how to pray. So we learn from the Hadith (prophet’s examples) on how to pray.

    Assalamun alaikum Grayson
Thank you for your video. Your questions about Islam are very very thoughtful and inspiring to all who wants to know Islam better from a true perspective. Thank you for your kindness.
The hadith about bowing Ali mentioned is this I think:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) explicitly discouraged bowing to anyone other than Allah. For example:
Mu’adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
“I came back from Sham and prostrated to the Prophet (peace be upon him).”
    The Prophet said:
    ‘What is this, O Mu’adh?’
I said: ‘I saw them (the people of Sham) prostrating to their bishops and leaders, so I wanted to do that for you.’
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
‘Do not do that! If I were to command anyone to prostrate to anyone else, I would have commanded the wife to prostrate to her husband.’
    (Sunan Ibn Majah, 1853; Sahih)
I hope that you find all answers you're looking for. And thank you for sharing this amazing progress with the whole world. You're an inspiration for many people 🤲🏻 May Allah swt bless and protect you.

One thing that can help you understand hadiths and Quran. It's like Quran orders you to do something and Hadiths tell you HOW to do it. It's like a guide book to Quran.
