Parents make mistakes. I've been to prison. My son has not. He didn't even look at the streets as an option. I kept him away from it. But obviously, 6:07 her situation isn't the same. If he is comparing the numbers from the 1970-1990's, he is right. When i was growing up there.1970-1988. Nyc was averaging over 2000 homicides for a long stretch of years, especially during the crack era 1984-1990.

In many areas of NYC, the murder rate has dropped a lot. There are still dangerous blocks obviously but there was "only" 386 murders in 2023 and that number is very low compared to the ~2000 murders per year during the 80's and 90's
