Awesome video! If you folks really wanna make some money, figure out a way to reinstall the vibration motors that thrustmaster omitted from these models! The wheel rims even have the castings for the Rumble motors in them! Just need to figure out how to populate the board with the correct capacitors and or resistors And where to get the rumble signal from. I’d imagine you can use standard Xbox 360 or Xbox one rumble motors. I’m looking to find a 458 GT vibration model to see how the board is populated for the Rumble motors and see if I can translate that over to the non-vibration models. If you guys sold it as a kit, I’d literally buy three right now.😂
I've took it apart twice and just clean and re grease the potentiometer and it works every time so far.... wheel pulled to left auto 20° back to perfect if not better..as for the loose wheel feel when u have it open tighten down all phillips screw that will tighten everything up. I used electric grease or petroleum jelly for tough times lol
Do you need to re calibrate the pot? The screws with the red on are I assume factory set so the pot reads exactly half at centre position, as all pots are slightly different?
I have found out for a fact I know how the potentiometer is busting and breaking out of the thing. If you over tighten the clamp just a little bit it pops the thing out of the sensor all you had to do is take the cover off and pop it back in place do not over tighten the mounting screw

I replaced the potentiometer on my old gt experience wheel and worked well until the bungee cord snapped. Recently bought this 458 spider wheel (£109) and after 4 days of solid racing I noticed bungee cord dust coming out of the wheel so I replaced it with a Hori rwo wheel for my xbox. Ferrari racing wheels are not worth the money, beginners can get cheaper and possibly better quality wheels and experienced racers have way better options.

My steering wheel is rapidly vibrating, very loud. Is that supposed to happen? For the pasts months I’ve had the wheel, it hasn’t vibrated like this. When I go to the menu, the vibrating stops.
My Thrustmaster 348 Spider wheel disconnects from my pc and doesn't work after about 2 minutes of use on all driving games and i've tested in on my xbox360 and the same happens, is this due to the potentiometer or could it be something else?

Hey mate amazing video and super clear. Question, I THINK this might resolve my issue as well but I am unsure. When pluggin my wheel it it works as it should, my pedals funtion and my buttons as well, I can also steer to the right no issue. But as soon as I steer to the left, my wheel completely freezes in funtionality. The game/computer shows it's plugged in but in the settings bar where you can see how far the wheel is turned to the left it shows 30% ish and it's frozen there no matter which wheel movement or button you touch. The game itself is not frozen nor the issue. Got any clue if your vid would help me too?! Edit: I have an *old* Xbox360/PC Ferrari 458 Italia, not the spider but according to Thrustmaster not that much has changed hence my question if it would possibly help me too
I believe this will work. But make sure you check if the potentiometer is identical to the one you have originally, also make sure you solder it the right way following the wire' colour accordingly.

Hi yes our potentiometer fits both the T80 and the 458 Spider. The potentiometer's we sell do not come with the cables attached so these would need to be solder on to the potentiometer. The only difference is on the T80 you need to solder the cable onto the board were as on the 458 it has a plug connection on the end of the cables.
is there anyway to adjust the steering tension i mean like make it easier to turn mine is really stiff i got about 200 hrs on it and it still stiff like it was new
Hi you can buy solder and a soldering iron on both ebay and amazon, but if you have never used one before we would recommend getting professional assistance as it is not as easy as it looks. Also on the T80 the cable is soldered onto the board as well, therefore does not have a plug connection on one end. we will have a T80 video coming soon
reset the wheel, disconnect and reconnect usb cable to your console, few times. if nothing works, then this is the solution for you. Also when you say new, you mean brand new and never used?? If you just received it like that, the cradle may be broken or the potentiometer has popped out and is out of place.

This repair involves soldering, if you don't have soldering iron, you need to contact us to buy the item with the wires attached. After purchasing the item, send us a message asking for the cable attached. This only applies to the Spider 458, the other wheels require further soldering and do not have the plug.
Hi, it sounds like you soldered it in the incorrect order. Please check at the 5min mark and you will see the correct order. This is for 458 spider, if it's a T80 the red and yellow are in the opposite way.

Restart your console, also try reset the wheel by unplug and plug it back in. Check that you breakaway cable isn't broken and the usb on your console isn't loose. If all these are ok and the persists, it will probably be the board is giving up.

These are cheaply made and don't even feel good to use. Don't buy one! I used my brand new one 5 times before the potentiometer messed up and the cars turn left without turning the wheel. Never buying another thrust master product. I had a Microsoft steering wheel back in the 2000s that was better than this new one.

WD-40 revives most potentiometers. Sometimes it's difficult get it inside through the narrow crack. Worth a try before changing the potentiometer.

Unplug and plug back in, do this this few times. If nothing works check return policy and get in contact with the retailer first.
This fix worked well for about two nights then the fucking wheel broke again, but now it's worse cause I can't steer with it at all!
This seems to be an issue with every thrustmaster product.

You can change the settings on forza so it stops but makes ur characters arms glitch about when in first person

These are cheaply made and don't even feel good to use. Don't buy one! I used my brand new one 5 times before the potentiometer messed up and the cars turn left without turning the wheel.
