this is the perfect example of what the dead do best and how often it brought down the house in a way that everybody was carried along and uplifted because it is essentially a prayer... and back when lesh sang harmony it was very communal... my absolute all time favorite....
Love your work in all if the play dead videos. It would be very helpful if you would spend some more time breaking down your improvising mind set. What key? What scale(s)? How to transition form chord tone to chord tone, etc. Thanks
Davyy that solo gave me the goosebumps!!!! The true test of a good GD solo for me and you fuckin killed it! Would love to know that transition section for China rider
As always, a very big grateful thank you for all the fun and the lessons. So, I'm just going to throw out my long "please teach us" setlist. I'm sure you plan to teach us every GD song anyway :) Last Time (need to honor Charlie Watts) Estimated Prophet Black Throated Wind Smokestack Lightning Turn on Your Lovelight Cumberland Blues High Time Row Jimmy To Lay Me Down Dire Wolf It Must Have Been the Roses Black Peter China Doll Terrapin - in multiple lessons :) A Brent tune - Far From Me? Easy to Love You?
Great videos man! Keep them pumping. Could you please say what key and modes your using when you solo during the end of your tutorials? Thanks man.. Solid.
Love this song.... always makes me happy. But I think that Jerry's solo work, when he's on especially, really makes this song pop. Sometimes basic is better! Thanks for the lesson!
Dope lesson as always. Ever think about doing a medley of songs during a lesson? Like, 3 easy blues songs the dead did? I just want all the Pigpen blues stuff 😅
Thanks for the lesson. Are you just shifting between D mixolydian on the D C G parts and F lydian on the F C F C Em? Or are you thinking more pentatonic on these?
I just started the video but for me, the Caged shape is what I see. I see D maj pent then Dm pent. F maj and D min pent are same notes. I always target chord tones.
Dude....Rippin solo!! Gotta come see you at a show man! Hit the east coast
Yeah it was
Protect this man at all costs.

That’s the way to do it!
@@sirbergersworth thanks brotha❤️
The Byrds version is “I Know My Rider” and has slightly different lyrics.
That solo has Jerry juice
WTF ! That was pretty smokin solo.
So for solo…what is basic framework and is it in a mode?
Thank you for all the great Dead tunes. Pulease cover Promised Land. Pulease!
Nice
Strum pattern?
can somebody explain the difference between cryptical envelopment and that’s it for the other one please
The song "That's It for the Other One" is 2 parts:
"Cryptical Envelopment"
&
"The Other One"
So, what’s everyone’s favorite Grateful Dead version of this? What year, and where was it played?
Dicks Picks v:19 from ‘73!
Epic please do help on the way!!
I'm a little rider 🥺
Phil passed away today... Phil zone forever
You're a train wreck, just can't turn away. No, really, you really do a nice job teaching the greatest band ever.
I’m the 70th comment…Srry 😅
BDE
No, DCG...
I like my women like I like ma songs!
lol
I left after the stupid intro 😂😂
It was kind of stupid...but I hung in there & the guy can really play the song & show how to do it. 😢
too much talking
I could do without the attempts at humor. Just stick to the instructions and forget the jokes - they're just not funny.
I could do without your views. Go watch someone else
thank you!
