Sucker fish & Trout Fishing -Carolina rig-

We used to have lots of sucker fish where I grew up but somebody told us they were bad. We used to snag them with treble hooks. Wiped out the entire fishery. I still feel bad about that.

we honestly do things when we were younger without thinking about it. Many things I've done which I have always regretted. Sucker may not be good eating fish but they make good lake trout bait haha

they arent bad, not any better than walleye or other "loved" fish.
to eat them many country smoke them and then pick out the bones, or purree them bone and all and eat them in soup.
edit: you purree the filet with the small bones, after filleting them...

You’re throwing back suckers?? I keep them all the time and stock them up in my freezer. Best laker and burbot bait in the world.
