My front tooth fractured 10+ years ago from an airbag. I was told my tooth was going to turn brown and die. I got porcelain veneers done a couple of months ago and the dentist asked me about it and asked me if it was wiggly. I said no and told him the story. He stayed in the enamel and it’s still there and vital 💪🏽
This is a great question. There are several ways you can determine how far the crack goes. One is through an isolated, probing depth, like the end of the video. The second is through exploratory surgery [this can be difficult as access is fairly compromised.). The third way is a CBCT. this may give you some proxy measures. There is a crack.
Thank you Ash.
Incidental finding of crack also be found when blood seeps into the crack.

This is so helpful!!
Do you recommend restoring a cracked tooth with now clinical sign for a major vertical crack by doing a crownlay? That is my go to procedure
But how would we know how apical the crack goes?
