    I got a feeling there's going to be a lot of energy instability this year.

    Excellent good job Joe
    We always called it adding a pigtail to run a generator to the house but either way nice job .

      Thanks for watching buddy. I am obviously no expert; but I play one on TV. Lol. It has been very helpful having a licensed pro walk me through it. If not we would have extension cords everywhere in the house. Lol. Take care!

    I do like the lock out switch idea. I will have to look into adding that.

    Hey Joe, great video. On anything that runs on gasoline, if you turn your gas off say on your generator and let it run until it quits or burns the fuel out you won’t have to get the carburetors rebuilt every year. That works on lawn mowers, weed eaters any thing that burns gasoline. I have a generator that will run about everything in my house.
    I’m on oxygen so I have to be prepared in case the power does go out. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!

      Hello Sir! Hope you are staying warm in this weather!!! I usually burn gasoline out of the carb until it dies out but a few items don't have a cutoff. I think it's time to add one to everything. In line cutoffs take no time and that may be helpful for others to see. If I make that video I'll be sure to let folks know it was your idea!!!

    I love my firman tri fuel! Do be sure to change oil after running for first couple hours for first time…you will see the metal shavings come out from break in. Put new oil in and you are good to go!

      That's great advice. Fortunately I'm pretty neurotic about my equipment. Always run a new machine for a bit and change the oil. Cheep insurance!!! Appreciate you watching brother!!!

    The firman generator has some great features for the price but after lots of research I found that the biggest issue with the generator is that the carburetor intake filter is on the bottom side of the generator which causes dust dirt ect will plug the filter and other mentioned issues is the dust getting sucked into the carburetor and it’s causing premature ring wear on the piston but there are ways the fix it or just keep it off the ground

      We have been happy with it; but as it was a gift we didn't choose it. The older one that we had was a subaru engine design which had it's own drawbacks. I think the gold standard will always be Honda but they are so expensive it's nice to show something affordable in the video. Even a predator generator would be fine for a backup. It's hard to hear stories of folks freezing when there are options. Appreciate you watching and lending some insight! Hope you caught some of the stuff at the end. I just think things like that are very cool. Take care!

      @@JoeTheFarmer I wired up three. One for the house, one for the shop and one for the well.😅😆 I assume you are referring to the HX1151! It’s sold! The boss said it’s 85k. Still 30-40k less than the JD🚜🙌

    Can that first one power my fridge

    • @JoeTheFarmer
      @JoeTheFarmer  Місяць тому

      Which one do you mean? Fridge takes a good deal of power. Needs more of a traditional generator.

    I always wondered about hooking a smaller generator to run a home. I probably would have ran some extention cables in. Nice set up no back feed. My grandson is going to lineman school just started a week ago I'd like to keep him around. I think I sent 2 deer pics but I don't feel they went not tech savvy 🦧.

    • @JoeTheFarmer
      @JoeTheFarmer  7 місяців тому +1

      Yessir; just need to identify the circuits you want/need and a generator this size works well. And keeps the fuel consumption to a reasonable amount. The smaller Honda/Coleman would also be a good supplement when not running the big one. And YES, we need to watch out for the linemen. It's an honorable job that isn't easy and they deserve our respect and to be safe. And got the pics!!! Working on that instead of playing in the snow!!!
