As a music producer I can ASSURE you at 1:38 that Justice did not SAMPLE The brothers Johnson, though clearly they were influenced by that track, the track they produced follows different notation and the production clarity tells me it was done from scratch, not sampled.

Makes me grumpy quite how many of these are just the original slightly bassboosted. It’s not a copy lmao... it’s a remake. I played for my dad and he pointed out that it sounds like Joanna by kool and the gang (a band that made so many hits that are used as samples in remixes all the time). Either way, I encourage you to listen to both the songs (the original and the remix) and enjoy both of their qualities! Remixes aren’t copies, they’re simply ameliorations to outdated songs to make them sounds newer and updated. Either way, Kool and the gang is a legendary band and I got to see some of the members play live this summer, highlight of my life lmao. They made Celebration( that one very known song), Get Down on it, Fresh (she’s fresh! ) and other classics.
