You can't improve acceleration from gearing! This engine has THE BEST DESIGN IN THE WORLD for acceleration. It's called KIPS. They've added a section to the boring engine which improves a 1 speed engine into a 2 speed engine. That's the only thing an engine builder can do for you! You have that feature built into your engine. Gearing is just TAXING YOUR ENGINE. Your engine dies sooner if you change gearing. Remind yourself you're NOT an engine designer expert! YOU GO BUY A BIGGER ENGINE THING!

Endu, I have a 99 kdx220r and it idles great and accelerates great, but at a static mid throttle it misses out / spits and sputters. Any idea what to do?
You've out grown wheels and the air cushion ride feature. To do what you're doing, you'll need SOLID RUBBER TYRES. Remind yourself you PAID FOR an 'air cushioned ride'. It means you requested a comfortable ride. You're not fooling anybody by doing wheelies on the air cushioned ride bike! You can't go over jumps! You can't get both wheels off the ground cause YOU ORDERED THE SOFT COCK RIDE bike. The 1 with AIR IN THE TYRES! Springs and shit! You're NOT ALLOWED to ride over stones larger than 2 inches! Why? Cause your tyres can't handle anything over 2 inches in size! In slow motion, watch those tyres deflate, watch those rims bend, watch those spokes break! Watch the tyre tread ram into the frame and the mud guards, etc... You've out grown the bike engineering. Your crash was caused by the bike failing to handle your abuse. Capitalism is keeping you as a human pet. Selling you bikes which FAIL TO DO WAHT YOU WANT TO DO, which causes you to crash and break yourself. Business is NOT your friend. The Japanese don't give a stuff how many bones you break!
