United States Deploy Assets to Support PH Uphold Sovereign Right in West Philippine Sea

- The United States Coast Guard will deploy its North Pacific assets to support the Philippine Coast Guard in upholding its sovereign rights in the West Philippine Sea amid the looming implementation of China’s anti-trespassing policy which encroaches on the Philippines exclusive economic zone.
The Coast Guard from the Philippines, Japan and the United States have re-asserted their commitment, to keeping the West Philippine Sea free, safe, and secure. This occurred during the Shangri-La Dialogue for International Institute for Strategic Studies on its 21st Asia Security Summit in Singapore, from 31 May to 02 June 2024.
During the Philippine Japan and United States conference, Philippine Coast Guard Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan, recommended to the Japan and U.S. Coast Guard to develop new ways to address the forthcoming threat in the high seas, particularly China’s declaration to apprehend non-Chinese fishermen who will violate their self-declared boundaries.
Meanwhile, the Japan Coast Guard, proposed the conduct of more personnel exchanges to create a robust network of coast guard counterparts in pursuit of maritime law enforcement and rule of law. The Philippine Coast Guard said it has agreed with the United States and Japan Coast Guard to pursue capacity-building initiatives to strengthen people-to-people relationship, better synchronize doctrines on the ground, and develop trust with each other.
The United States Coast Guard, has promised to send assets to the South China Sea, to support Manila in upholding sovereign rights in its exclusive economic zone. In a statement, the USCG will deploy its North Pacific Coast Guard following the proposal of Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, for a greater deployment in high seas to address the forthcoming threat. As China supposed trespasses, in what it considers its maritime boundaries.
The proposal was made not only to the US Coast Guard, but also to the Japan Coast Guard during the International Institute for Strategic Studies Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore. The Philippines rest assured its partners that the PCG is doing its share in the alliance they nurture.

The speech was great! Non bias and just rrying to have a more centralized peace for the region. The Chinese general was trying to bait the president into saying that the Philippines is the instagator of the issues in the region instead of China.

The ruling that upholds the sovereign rights of the Philippines specially within its sovereign EEZ and under UNCLOS will not back down against China's bullying and intimidation. I like this guy Mr. Marcos. He is very well spoken yet keeps his comments short and on point. He is very clear and concise. Have you not heard the latest news? US will send their coastguard here in WPS to hell our coastguard. Aside from that, there is this ASEAN coastguard meeting. It was held in Davao (?) if I am correct. We don't know what this meeting is all about. But I hope members of ASEAN will send their coastguard too to help the Philippines.
For your information and for the ignorance of some the deployment of US forces and equipments is to assert and protect their economic interests in the Indo Pacific region(that includes China) because USA have been losing against China for quiet sometime. They should be thankful to the Philippines for opening it's doors for this strategy. For us Filipinos, it is still a question why USA became so friendly where in fact they were the true Judas Escariot during the standoff in the Scarborough Shoal. That's really the outcome because it would be a waste of the treaty if we wait for an act of war. They should already include support with the coast guard patrols; otherwise, the MDT (Mutual Defense Treaty) will just go to waste

The Philippines is carrying too much burden to prevent the Chinese from reaching the Pacific, so the coastguards should work together to guard against them from advancing into the Philippines.
