Poor Ebert. He’d just had the first surgery on his jaw that year and you can hear it in his voice. Two years later he’d lose his voice forever, but not his words. His blog became a popular and heavily visited site for the next seven years until his tragic death in 2013.
I was a 35mm projectionist at a movie theater (14 screens) from January to May in 2004 & no one came to see Girl Next Door or The Whole Ten Yards. When the film cans came in for White Chicks, I could tell just by splicing the reels together it was going to be a TURKEY. 🦃
Give Halle Berry credit - she at least knows Catwoman was a terrible movie, but she completely owns it. She even showed up in person to accept her Razzie!
I like when the commercials are left in because it makes it more of a time capsule. I also like remembering normal people that hate stuff like "Saw" and find its success baffling.
Poor ebert his speech was muted, until later they had to do surgery on his jaw and his speech was totally gone. So sad, R I P Im sure hes watching black kkklans men and green book in heaven.
Roger called Troy and Alexander the worst movie of the year. Both got 2 stars. But Christmas With The Kranks got 1 star and White Chicks 1.5 stars-so why do they have lower ratings? It should be the other way around?
How in the hell could Ebert put The Girl Next Door on his list for the ten worst films of 2004?!?!?! I loved that film!! Yes, it is a blatant rip off of Risky Business, but it is done with so much charm and energy that I found it totally entertaining!!
Zachary Siple it’s when a movie tries to make money solely based on the famous actors in the film, and it’s also made just to further the actors careers
Homer Simpson: "what are you boys laughing at online in here!? ...and if you say Jimmy Fallon, I'll know you're lying... *pumps fist* (also, i'm glad to, finally, see someone agree with me about the distasteful quality of torture porn. the damage it does to your psyche isn't worth the decent horror movie entertainment factor (and studies show that this kind of stuff does affect you negatively). we probably shouldn't be portraying this kind of entertainment in a popular common capacity; perhaps just keep on the fringe where one has to purposefully look up the excessive realistic violent content to see it. violence is cool; just not the insane exp[licit imaginative kind.)
Saw? is often given credit for reviving the horror thriller... sorry Saw is not a top ten worst movie. They made like 10 more of them... most of them are awful but not the first one. RE2 wasn't that bad either.
I love the first one and thats the only one I like ,compared to its sequels it atleast Seems like a smart film with charecters ,plot and a story, not just torturé porn I hate the sequels
I'm so stoked about the boat show.

I'm sure siskel would have really hated the "saw" movies.
ertertwert1 That’s probably an understatement, lol. 😛

I remember staying up every Sunday to watch them

@Massimo Casella well ,compared to its sequels it atleast Seems like a smart film with charecters and story not just torturé porn
Years after Catwoman, Anne Hathaway became the second Oscar-winning actress to wear a cat suit.
In my perspective, “White Chicks” takes place in a parallel universe where everyone is so stupid they fail the dead giveaway test. What awful garbage.
This was telecast on Sun
day, January 16, 2005 at 12 midnight on CFTO-TV Toronto. it followed two newscasts and the Golden Globe Awards.
Can't help but feel Troy was easily better than Alexander.
Do you have any more Siskel and Ebert or Ebert and Roeper stuff? I love this stuff
siskelandebert.org is back up.
@@sha11235 it's now siskelebert.org
Taxi with Jimmy Fallon yeah that is really bad
This kind of brings tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for uploading these videos with late Mr Ebert.
Sorry Mathew Lilliard as Shaggy is everything 😂😂😂
Really miss at the movies. Liked the last incarnation on pbs too. Wish it could be revived.
The hottest garbage of 2004.
Good deal on those mattresses
god I miss this show so much!
Yeah, when Roger and Richard left the show it bombed.
@@sha11235 now we don't got any show now : (
"Straight through video" 10:50 Genius

notgrillo collector/ gamer and giving green book a thumbs down im sure thankfully

Saw and Dogville are now thought of as quasi-classics.
Whole Ten Yards was terrible.
Roger called Troy and Alexander the worst movie of the year. Both got 2 stars.
But Christmas With The Kranks got 1 star and White Chicks 1.5 stars-so why do they have lower ratings? It should be the other way around?
It was a bad year for sword and sandal epics so I think Ebert’s #1 choice was purely hyperbolic.
How in the hell could Ebert put The Girl Next Door on his list for the ten worst films of 2004?!?!?! I loved that film!! Yes, it is a blatant rip off of Risky Business, but it is done with so much charm and energy that I found it totally entertaining!!
jason thompson He thought the girl in that movie was unpleasant.
11:06 What does it mean when a movie is a "vehicle"?
Zachary Siple it’s when a movie tries to make money solely based on the famous actors in the film, and it’s also made just to further the actors careers
Alexander was worse than Troy
Oh my gosh, thank you so much for this.
I've avoided all of those films to this day, but I did see 3/4 of Alien Vs Predator in the theater.
never liked Roeper. Ebert and Roeper just didn't have the same on screen chemistry as Ebert did with Siskel.
White Chicks is as painful to watch as the torture in Saw
Catwoman was the worst
Nice quality
I loved both The Village and Dogville.
Homer Simpson: "what are you boys laughing at online in here!? ...and if you say Jimmy Fallon, I'll know you're lying... *pumps fist*

I guess they decided to go back to a countdown starting in 2003.
Does anyone have their review of The Passion of the Christ? I'd love to see it!
Ebert doesn't sound or look well.
Dogville was pretty good
I AGREE ON SAW BEING A BAD MOVIE!
THE FIRST ONE WAS AN ILLOGICAL MESS, AND EVERY SEQUEL OF IT WAS EVEN WORSE!
When I spotted white chick on cable I watched 15 min, I clicked over it, I couldnt take it. Dogville, absolute torture!!
Birth is fucking strange!! But that's the point!
No Blade: Trinity? Okay then.
Might not have seen it.
sha11235 No, they definitely reviewed Blade Trinity on the show; I remember the episode. Ebert also wrote a review of it.
Medium was so boss!!
Troy is very very underrated, Alexander wasn't horrible just not memorable to me.
Hey Canadians! American Idol is a FOX show!!! Oh my bad I forgot to care about the show and got caught up in the commercials.
The first "saw" was really good wtf is roeper talking about?!
Of course it’s his opinion, but I do highly disagree with his assessment. The twist was not incomprehensible at all.
WOW!! So, Saw was one of the worst movies of 2004? Saw? fucking Saw? Not like, Saw VII but the first one? Really?
God dang it shaggy Rogers has come back I guess why you uploaded this because I could paint Scooby Doo to black and paint the shaggy Rogers character
The girl next door is a good movie
Mr.Irish it was funny and compared to most teen comedies of the era it was one of the better ones
I loved 'White Chicks' and 'Troy'.... sue me lol
Saw? is often given credit for reviving the horror thriller... sorry Saw is not a top ten worst movie. They made like 10 more of them... most of them are awful but not the first one. RE2 wasn't that bad either.
They have to pick popular movies so they exaggerate
I love the first one and thats the only one I like ,compared to its sequels it atleast Seems like a smart film with charecters ,plot and a story, not just torturé porn I hate the sequels
The village is wonderful film.
Ebert is not a video game fan. Resident evil the game was a masterpiece!
White chicks will always be hilarious
Hey i love White Chicks lol
Saw was an obvious flop..
You do know saw is a Halloween classic Right?
I liked white chicks.
