Lots of really good advice packed in there. Travis is absolutely right on being humble. I am just a hobbyist, but it's helped me tremendously. Thanks Jimmy for taking the time to talk about a part of the industry that most don't talk about on social media. Hopefully y'all have some more coming soon.

I believe Travis is right about being polite and humble. If you are working around people who are more experienced or more well rounded than you. If you come off as a cocky know it all, nobody is going to show you anything or help you out in any way. But if you ask questions, be polite and genuine, you might be surprised at what people are willing to share with you. Everyone of us is human and none of us know it all by any means. Thanks for sharing you guys.

The company I work for (Hardin Construction) in Tuscaloosa Alabama, builds and paints all the poles for Top Golf all around the country. Lots of welding and grinding goes into one of them things! The trigger pullers at the shop only weld out about 2-3 max in a day.

That was awesome, how many times are you going to get to listen to a group of welders and inspectors /teaches like that in one room .
Thanks to all for making it happen.

Travis Field is an awesome welder, I also enjoy B. Moffits videos, what's the bloke (that interestingly has the most to say about everything) doing there? If he's not a stick welder? Travis under the channel Field res has some brilliant titanium vids too, check those out people.

He is Jimmy McKnight and produces the Arc Junkies Podcast. He's an aerospace welder and was a judge in the competition.

Leave it up to a Canadian to set the proper tone for the discussion! Atta boy !!!!
IMO ... Being humble is something that you’re naturally born with. You either are or you’re not. But, if you’re trying to be humble then at least you’re trying to be respectful of others, and that’s a good start. Remember... no one likes a big shot !
    P. S. Thank you to everyone out there that takes the time to put up these valuable videos. It has made me a better welder. Thank you.
