I went to see Saving Private Ryan( my mom had a thing for Tom Hanks) with my mom and sister. We were teens. There was a veteran and his family sitting across the aisle from us.He was screaming and crying so bad. I still remember it to this day. I could tell he was having flashbacks because he was screaming mens' names. My sister and I were balling our eyes out. Not so much because of the movie but because of the compassion we felt for him.

I remember the “Blaire Witch” marketing well, it was marketed as actual real found footage, and got away with it for a few months after release too so when you watched it you thought it was real and man it scared the hell out of me where I thought it was real.
“the Fall” the height movie about 2 girls climbing a radio tower made my stomach sick becasue I have a fear of heights. I was shocked how much a movie actually triggered that fear. It was fun tho.

I watched 5 min of the Passion of the Christ-I couldn’t take it. I saw A Clockwork Orange after reading the book for school in 10th grade-no problem. Jim Caviezel played Jesus in the Passion of the Christ. He wasn’t black listed by Hollywood. He is a devout and practicing Christian who decided he no longer wanted to do sex scenes in movies. You can see him in The Count of Monte Cristo and De Ja Vu He was also in a detective drama Person of Interest in US tv. I like him as an actor and would love to have seen him in more roles

Swiss Army Man (the one with Daniel Radcliffe as a flatulent corpse) was the first feature created by the Daniels (Daniel Kwon, Daniel Scheinert), the team who made last year's Everything Everywhere All at Once. They have a unique combination of sensibilities -- they like out-there humor, deep emotion, a mixture of genres, and plain weirdness, all mixed up together. I think that aesthetic worked magnificently -- masterfully -- in EEAAO, while for me SAM didn't quite come together (though I would never have considered walking out on it!). But a lot of people feel differently about Swiss Army Man, and like it a lot, so I'd say "try it for yourself."

Hi Kabir! I remember when A Clock Work Orange came out. I was 16, and the film was rated X meaning you had to be 18. I had actually read the book and I was dying to see it. Of course they turned me away, so I got my dad to go to the theater with me and tell them it was OK. No dice, an R rated film you could get in with a parent, but not X. Years later, after Blockbuster opened, it was one of the first movies I rented. Great movie!

Why wasn't The Crying Game on this list? One of my college friends worked at a movie theater in high school when it came out. She said the numbers of older guys who came out of the theater after *that* scene, demanding their money back (they never got a refund) and trying to blame her, personally, for the film's very existence was sad, funny, and wild. When I went back with a friend once it was released, she left at the most notorious scene, and, after the film, I found her outside, cradling in shock. I genuinely thought she had gone to the toilet. Some time later, I wrote a short essay inspired but the film, and an older lady in the US wrote to me to tell me the essay stopped her from ending her own life. 1:58 I saw Caligula back in the early 80s. I love "Non Fiction" books and movies so a historical representation of the emperor's reign was right up my alley. In summary, Roger Ebert is right. The movie is filled with sordid depictions of sadism, gore, violence and yes "sex", just like you'd see in a porn movie. In fact, it is a porn movie.👎
3:07 Fight club was one of those movies that, you had suspicions but weren't quite sure of what was going on until the very end. I didn't think it was all that bad but it had its moments: "His name was Robert Paulson, his name was Robert Paulson,..."😄
4:17 The Revenant was a great movie, but worth only one viewing for me. Although the cinematography was outstanding, it was also dark, gloomy and depressing. It was also over 2½ hours long, and that's a long time to be staring at a screen of varying shades of grays, browns and blacks under low lighting conditions. Also, most of the movie's storyline is fake and bears no resemblance to the original story. I would certainly recommend it for one viewing, but expect to leave the theater in a somber and depressed mood.😄
5:15 I feel the same way Kabir. I have no idea why such a movie was made in the first place. Maybe Hollywood (as I've long suspected) is running out of imagination and screenwriting talent (lately it's all remakes, fantasy, comic-book fodder, etc.). I never saw the film.
6:23 I saw The Tree of Life and couldn't figure out what the movie was about. After researching it, I know what it's "supposed" to be about, but that didn't translate to the finished product (horrible editing). When I first saw it, and its ending, I felt like it was an incomplete movie and that a lot was missing. I later learned that virtually all of Sean Penn's character scenes were cut from the film. While I thought the acting was top notch, the movie (to me) was a complete wash. I would propose watching it just for the amazing performances from its actors, but don't expect any clarity or continuity to the story.
7:10 I saw The Passion after buying the DVD. I was only able to watch it once. It's not easy to see what my God actually endured for a sinner like me.❤✝ I think everyone should see it at least once in order to really appreciate the sacrifice.
8:33 😆I saw Clockwork Orange so long ago that I can't even remember most of it, but I do recall it was quite a bizarre movie for its time. It's right up there with "Fahrenheit 451" which I saw in the early 70s.😄
12:22 I heard about his ordeal on the news but never saw "127 Hours". Believe it or not, under his circumstance, being dehydrated was a good thing. His bleeding out only becomes an immediate concern once he rehydrates himself.
14:41 Pulp Fiction is an iconic classic. Reservoir Dogs was good too but, to me, it was even more graphic than Pulp Fiction.
18:00 Yeah, it was mostly veterans of WWII who experience the war, who walked out on the film. Saving Private Ryan is a movie all generations should see to understand what sacrifice is and the types of common everyday individuals who submit themselves to it for the sake of peace.
20:07 I thought Cloverfield was pretty good, a Blair Witch Project coat-tailer, but a good movie and not even close to being worthy of walking out on.😮
22:10 Yeah, I thought this would be number 1. The Exorcist was pretty radical for its time, it even gave me nightmares back then.😉
    Peace Kabir🕊

The movie Mother is an allegory for the book of Genesis in the Bible. The husband/poet represents God, his wife, Mother, represents Mother Earth/Nature, and their visitors represent Adam and Eve and Cain and Abel. Though Mother Earth/Nature isn't a figure in the Bible the movie is also an allegory for mankind and its blatant disregard for nature as well. It's a blend of religious and secular whose biggest audience are probably people that don't understand what it's about, ironically.

The Blair Witch Project was not even slightly scary. It was an ultra-low-budget student film, cleverly marketed to promise far more than it could ever possibly have delivered, and part of that marketing was to make up B.S. stories about audiences supposedly freaking out. I worked in a movie theater at the time, and there were indeed people who walked out on it - but not because they were scared, they were BORED, and pissed off at having wasted their money.
