I was literally just stressing about whether or not accounting and auditing is right for me. I decided to get the insight of accountants and how they feel about their careers. You gave me the most hope! Of the videos that I actually clicked on your videos are the only ones I thoroughly watch. I now feel a lot better about my decision. So thank you :)!
+Angelena Certaine Awww thank you so much, I'm so happy I can provide some insight on the accounting/audit industry :) I hope it turns out to be the right fit you're looking for!
I am oh so very glad that I found your channel. I have just gotten into the actual Accounting classes while I am working towards my Bachelor's Degree for Accounting. I was freaking out a little bit because I was not getting it at first. You make it all make sense. Thank you so much!
Awesome video! I've finished my accounting degree and have a graduate job as an auditor starting in Feb. This is soooo helpful! And also nice to see someone who is actually relatable in accounting!
lol i took accounting courses in high school for no absolute reason, but now I'm glad because I actually know what you're talking about. This is my backup plan! Love this!
I love your videos. I'm a double major accounting student and watching your videos while I was deciding my major really helped me out! :) I somehow hadn't seen this one even though I swear I've seen like every other video lol I love your car chats especially when you get all road-rage ;D
Omg yesss!!! Thank you! Please make more! I work as a help desk technician for a nationally known accounting software company, and I'm very good with the technical side but the accounting side.....sigh
dope video. loving the advice. keep it up. I just started my accounting class in college, and I'm super interested. watching your videos has made me more intrigued in pursuing this career.
Don't know how I just now found this video of yours but I am a fairly new subscriber so... 😅 thanks for this! I've been debating if I want to be an accountant but wanted more info
I have a high school / college friend who actually got his Accounting degree from SDSU, then out in the real world 'during the 90's' alot of firms wanted him to cook the books, and pull unthical illegal accounting tricks, so he abandoned that careers and went into Jr. High SChool teaching after getting his teaching credentials and he has turned out to be a Well respected Teacher..and new wife who is a Teacher as well.
Congrats on becoming manager. I love all of the great information that you are sharing. I feel like it makes it more real to me. I have a question/fear what if I don't remember how to calculate something. my fear is that I won't retain any of what I have learned get hired and then fail. can you talk about your very first day of accounting. And do they have programs that already have the formulas saved? sorry I am just so motivated by and your videos.
+ninaaikuaixiao hi there! I have this video explaining an audit from start to finish. If you have additional questions after watching I'd be happy to answer them! ua-cam.com/video/Wk8H_GWUcsM/v-deo.html
very interesting video, i was wondering if you can make a video what school you went to did you get you bachelors degree, and is mandatory to get a masters degree. im in college now and receiving my associates in business administration, but i took 2 classes of accounting 124 and 125. do you recommend just focusing an associates degree in accounting or can i just get my AA in business administration, and bachelors in accounting.
What kind of jobs can you get with an accounting degree besides auditing and tax accountants? Also would it be important to take up a minor in fraud examination if you what to be an auditor. My school has a fraud examination course and i wanted to know from someone in the profession if it would be a good thing to look into.
Hey stephie!! You're such an inspiration your videos are great! I'm graduating with my BA in Accounting next December. Can you answer some questions about filling up a resume with not very experience! Thanks!!
+Lindsey White Hi Lindsey! Thank you so much, I can definitely go more in depth in a future video or blog post. My resume out of college was primarily a waitress position and accounting at a golf course. The rest was my degree, GPA and extracurricular. I listed them out in the following order: Education (college/university, degree and GPA), Experience (mine included accountant at a golf course, internship and waitressing job) then Other (extracurricular things like any honor societies, organizations, leadership roles in any organization and special awards received). Under each job, I would list out 2 to 4 bullet points giving a high level description (like provided excellent customer service to patrons, prepared journal entries and reconciliation for golf course activities). Hope this helps!
hii! im graduating next semester! my concentration in accounting is tax. I will be working in a public accounting firm. Can you talk more about what you do as an tax associate? thank you! i love your channel btw. Your videos gave me great advice on interviews during recruiting season.
+Kattia Gonzales I'm glad my videos have been helpful! I'm not super familiar with what tax associate do honestly... the tax folk I work with will normally help review the company's tax provision for me since that's more specialized knowledge. They look at whether or not the deferred taxes and income tax expense recorded is accurate. Outside of that, I'm really not sure about the day to day for tax :( This video goes into more detail though: ua-cam.com/video/VzSYyThKLPI/v-deo.html
not sure if you made a video about this already but I just started watching you're video's and I wonder was it hard for you trying to find a job in accounting. Thanks
Hi:) I will be studying an accounting and I want to become a CPA one day. I have an unrelated question regarding the laptop purchase. As an accounting student can I use Mac or should I go for PC ? I can't decided between the two Thanks
+levanFBI Hi there! You can really use either as an accounting student. I would suggest getting a PC because the majority of companies use PC products (there are niche companies that use Mac) and it would be really beneficial if you learned to use Excel, Word and Powerpoint. However, if you use your laptop for other things like editing or music, I would say get a Mac for more of an all in one product. Hope this helps!
Thank you. I like to use Windows, however MacBooks look so good. I was thinking to get one. I guess I will stick with PC. I'm pretty good with Word and Power Point, however I have to work on learning Excel
+Sunny Sharma Hi there! I did a video while I was in college talking about college ua-cam.com/video/cIef3bPxlko/v-deo.html If there is anything else I didn't touch on in the video, I'd be happy to answer them for you :)
Where have you studied CPA? Is it in States or Canada? Is there major difference between these two? I'm pursuing CPA from Canada. would you like to advice anything?
Great explanation of accounting, but I thought your disclaimer at the end ("I am not a teacher so I really hope that made some kind of sense . . . My explanation is by far not comprehensive . . . .") was totally unnecessary. Explaining the difference between financial and income statements and explaining the unique role of the public accountant was the perfect way to introduce the field. I am a lawyer currently on medical leave from my practice, trying to learn accounting basics with my free time because I imagine it's only a matter of time before knowing how to parse a business' finances will be necessary for one of my cases.
+Brittney Sansosti it depends on your client. There definitely can be a lot of or a little travel. Usually if you communicate your preference firms try to keep it in mind but I've had coworkers who got scheduled on out of town clients and travel most of the year. I currently only travel maybe 2 or 3 weeks out of the year including training which I like because I don't wanna be traveling a lot 😊
+Hannah Cantu if you want a big 4 or mid tier public accounting firm, yes. Some jobs in industry ask for GPA and some don't but not having a super high GPA doesn't preclude a person from a career in general. Just maybe specific requirements by certain companies.
Hi Stephienese, I'm pursuing a degree in accounting as well, any tips on how to maintain your grades and motivation? I find it tough to cope because as the year progress the assignments and subjects gets tougher and Im worried of not getting a job due to poor grades
+Stephienese well I've couldn't help but notice over the course of several jobs that ass kissing and office politics are more important than actual competence @ your job
I was literally just stressing about whether or not accounting and auditing is right for me. I decided to get the insight of accountants and how they feel about their careers. +Ayaka Awww i am so glad it was helpful! I was afraid that what I'm saying isn't super clear so I'm glad it was :)
This video was awesome to see right now! I am taking my competency exam in two weeks and this helped review financial accounting a little bit!
+Barb Lyn Good luck on your competency exam! Glad I could help in your review a little :)
lol i took accounting courses in high school for no absolute reason, but now I'm glad because I actually know what you're talking about. This is my backup plan! Love this!
+Allison Kong hahaha glad you understood what I was talking about! I was worried I wasn't making sense lol
Thank you for this video and please make more!! I'm a senior in high school and I think I want to pursue accounting so this is very helpful :)

Yay more accounting videos!
+ajcab819 Accountants ftw!!!! :D
I love your videos. I'm a double major accounting student and watching your videos while I was deciding my major really helped me out! :) I somehow hadn't seen this one even though I swear I've seen like every other video lol I love your car chats especially when you get all road-rage ;D
Thank you for making this video! I'm considering taking accounting and this is very helpful :) congratulations on your promotion to manager!

I just found your channel recently and now I'm up all night watching your videos!! Thank you so much for all these tips!! :)
Hahaha awww you're so sweet! Glad they have been helpful :)
Omg yesss!!! Thank you! Please make more! I work as a help desk technician for a nationally known accounting software company, and I'm very good with the technical side but the accounting side.....sigh
+Haute Radiance that's amazing, i work with IT folk a lot in my job as well and definitely see benefit in understanding both sides :)
Congrats on being promoted!!! Please tell me the pat of how to become a SUCCESSFUL ACCOUNTANT PLEASE!!!!
dope video. loving the advice. keep it up. I just started my accounting class in college, and I'm super interested. watching your videos has made me more intrigued in pursuing this career.
+Jorge Gutierrez Thank you! Glad I could provide some insight. Hope you enjoy your accounting class!
Thank you so much for this video and all accounting videos! There is very little first hand CPA career videos from people I can relate too!!
+Brittney Sansosti awww thank you doll!!!
Don't know how I just now found this video of yours but I am a fairly new subscriber so... 😅 thanks for this! I've been debating if I want to be an accountant but wanted more info
I'm in financial accounting right now and wanted to if the accounting is really like the class or its more like the higher level accounting classes ?
I do have Master in Accounting and I think that you can explain Accounting better than a lot of professors in Accounting
Thanks for your sharing. I want to be an auditor and a UA-camr like you. Expecting more videos!!

Such an informative video! I love it! It’s very easy to understand.
Very concise and straightforward explanation!Would you plz talk about audit work in more details?

Thanks a lot

What does an entry level Accountant does during his first week and month on his or her accounting job? Do they just do financial statements all day?
hii! im graduating next semester! my concentration in accounting is tax. I will be working in a public accounting firm. Can you talk more about what you do as an tax associate?

Could you make a video on your college experience studying accounting?
+Sunny Sharma Hi there! I did a video while I was in college talking about college ua-cam.com/video/cIef3bPxlko/v-deo.html

Where have you studied CPA? Is it in States or Canada? Is there major difference between these two? I'm pursuing CPA from Canada. would you like to advice anything?
+Jay B I took the exam in the US so I don't know if there are differences taking it in Canada.
This sounds very intriguing to me

Should i specialize in my accounting major or not? Like fiance or information systems.
Requirements are just accounting specialization. If you want to minor in something, I'd suggest information systems.
thank you
You are the best for this!
Hi are you an Accountant
Is there a lot of trabeling involved in auditing?? I have a year left in accounting
Did you take acca ?
Great video!
Does gpa rlly matter as an accountant?
+Hannah Cantu if you want a big 4 or mid tier public accounting firm, yes. Some jobs in industry ask for GPA and some don't but not having a super high GPA doesn't preclude a person from a career in general. Just maybe specific requirements by certain companies.
Stephienese what is a respectable GPA that would get someone in a top or mid tier accounting firm?
Hi Stephienese, I'm pursuing a degree in accounting as well, any tips on how to maintain your grades and motivation? I find it tough to cope because as the year progress the assignments and subjects gets tougher and Im worried of not getting a job due to poor grades
I am an Accountant l hope to meet you
You are very smart
Great vid
+Latebloomer39 Thank you! :)
How old are you ? .. I'm guessing around 26-27 ^__-
+Master Orihara good guess!! I'm 27, I normally get 18 so I'm flattered lol
Master Orihara yes you look much younger ! Embrace it :)
I was serious about this video to learn about the auditing part, but I just got lost in your eyes smh
Thanks!
well done
I'm considering computer science and accounting... accounting sounds more interesting than CS
very informative! :)(
+Nellie Broun Yay I'm so glad :)
Traveling **
keep at it, in 10 years youll be a partner earning $200k
accounting is basically working in a office with lamez.....being yelled at by your boss.....for things you can't control
+Husani Waldron Sounds like you need to find a different job lol
+Stephienese well I've couldn't help but notice over the course of several jobs that ass kissing and office politics are more important than actual competence @ your job
This is what scares me because I hear this a lot. Why would you be yelled at?
Thank you!
