      Hi Carina Paul,
      It is likely you won't need a lifting procedure yet at your age, but may improve jawline definition with volume enhancement or maybe non-surgical tightening at the jaw.Our offices are located in Manhattan, New York City which you can call at (212) 265-8877, and Garden City, Long Island at (516) 742-4636. This was such an amazing explanation! As a physician myself I can appreciate how you presented and explained this. I am 52, live in colorado, and have been evaluating different options. I basically have good skin with a bit of laxity but not much. I agree that volume loss is the biggest problem in our early 50s. I do come to New York at least once a year (well, before all the recent virus up issues). How far in advance does an appt need to be made, how many visits are required for volume replacement? Thanks so much for putting these types of videos out. If I am unable to visit NY do you know of anyone in colorado who you trust and does similar work to yours?

      Hi Pap Pyone,
      Thank you for the appreciation! Facial filler placement usually requires an appointment consultation and placement, and then a follow up after two weeks to see how the filler has settled, and if additional enhancement may be needed.
      You can look up the Y Lift network of doctors who do bone level placement of facial fillers, but we all have our different aesthetic styles, so I suggest you look at before and after pictures, and find a style that resonates with you. I hope this helps you.

    What are some negative effects of getting a facelift in your late 20s-30s? I've watched your videos on non surgical procedures and I understand the concept that there are other options at those ages, but those options aren't permanent. I am not grasping the concrete reason - are there negative side effects to having facelifts that young? Do they age poorly by the time you get to 60? What is the reason other than there being other less invasive non permanent options?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Patricia Arnedo,
      Sagging skin, soft tissue, and muscle are not issues in the 20s to 30s, so there isn't anything to surgically lift. Fillers are used in people in their later 30s into their 40s, and even 50s because facial volume loss occurs before skin and soft tissue sagging. Also, you can't expect a facelift to be "permanent" since facelifts treat the appearance of facial aging, and last 5-10 years, but facelifts cannot stop facial aging entirely. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    I'd like a mini facelift. I've tried a host of other things, they haven't worked. I've got early jowls, marionette lines, my mouth is drooping.. Eyelids are too.. Generally it looks as though my face is melting if I relax it (which I never do in public as it makes me look old, haggard, tired and angry!).
    My husband is not on board with it and doesn't support me. He insists its for vanity.. But I disagree completely. I just want to feel better, perhaps look like I used to in my early 30s, just fresher, less old. A mini facelift will hardly turn me into an Instagram model, but it would lift my self esteem, I'd enjoy my clothes, my hair.. My face wouldn't let me down and affect the way I present myself as a whole.I want to enjoy my life feeling good, not depressed. I wish I had some support, ppl don't realise how important that is.

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  3 роки тому

      Hi Nic,
      I understand your perspective, and you're certainly not alone as the majority of my patients have the same motivation of just feeling better about themselves.
      As for your desired procedure, you can look into the video more closely as marionette lines, jowls, and lines around the mouth can be treated non-surgically with volume enhancement. While an examination is needed to determine what the best approach is for you, there is a strong possibility that most of your issues can be treated without the need for surgical facelift just yet. I hope this helps you.

    Hi DR Amira, great video! Would the volume loss still be issue even after a facelift surgery and needed to be treated with fillers? Or, does a successful facelift surgery resolve volume loss problem (around cheeks) for a long time too?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Faygn,
      Facelifts are for lifting sagging skin, and tightening and repositioning muscle and soft tissue. Volume loss is a separate issue, but it can be treated at the same time as a facelift with facial implants or fillers, or even after with fillers. You can refer to this video about it - ua-cam.com/video/sR3_FoNC87I/v-deo.html

      Hi,
      There are instances where the skin is too thin for facelift to be effective, but bone loss is a separate issue. Volumetric bone loss is part of normal facial aging, and calcium supplements won't stop it from occurring. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Hello Dr ... i live in Canada. I had a deep plane fl booked earlier this year. When i had the pre-testing done however i was refused by the attending anaesthetist. He advised the surgeon from my reports my blood pressure was dangerously low. It has always been this way. Anyway, thd surgeon followed his advise. I was devastated. My friend advises i see my GP to find out how my blood pressure can be brought to a safe level. I was so happy to see you do local freezing. I would like the deep plane fl and accompanying neck lift. I would also like a nose job but this may be too much at one time.

      I am praising your anesthesiologist, as he probably saved your life. I have chronic low blood pressure, not dangerously low except for the odd spell, and yet I nearly died from general anesthesia. My blood pressure plummeted to the point that the nurses were visibly worried. It was an elective, albeit not cosmetic, surgery (sterlization). After that experience, I am only having surgery if it's the only option to save my life. I had to give up on the idea of getting a much desired lower abdominoplasty.

    Is it true that it is better to get a facelift earlier than later in life to maintain a younger look cause as u get older you would not be able to “reverse” the look all that much ?
    So better to get a facelift soon as u see even a little sagging / aging ?
    I keep hearing different things

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Рік тому

      Hi zibtihaj,
      I don't recommend surgical facelifts at a younger age because skin and tissue are not yet sagging, so there is nothing to lift. As explained in the video, volume loss occurs before skin and tissue laxity, so that's what I would recommend to relatively younger patients over surgical lifting. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Hello doctor. Is there anything in R/D to enhance or restore facial bone density? I lost some lower molars, and this is contributing to the sagging I have at 54. I have had Radiesse to the cheekbones and temples, but the sagging is getting out of hand. Thank you.

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  5 років тому +1

      Hi Julia Dixon,
      Extracellular matrix has replicated bone lost due to injury, but in a small scale with limited applications, and it can't be used to replace bone volume lost due to aging. Radiesse is calcium hydroxyapatite in a gel suspension, which is similar to bone, but even if some of the material remains in the body, it still has a listed longevity of about 1 year. I do prefer hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm Ultra Plus and Voluma to Radiesse these days due to full reversibility and metabolization. A physical examination is needed to assess your skin and tissue to see if you can benefit from non-surgical tightening or toning, or surgical lifting. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Is 40 OK for facelift surgery

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  5 років тому +3

      Hi mininninja565,
      In most cases, 40 is too young for a facelift, although I have performed facelifts for people around this age because genetics caused their skin and tissue to sag prematurely. For most patients at 40, facial volume loss happens before skin, soft tissue, and facial muscle sagging, so a volume enhancement treatment is usually more appropriate at this age. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD

      Hi Erika Harper,
      Facial volume loss due to aging will affect you before skin, muscle, and soft tissue laxity. If you look at the lady at the right of the thumbnail, she is over 40, and was not treated with a facelift, but with volume enhancement. You can watch the video closely about how I treat this issue with deeper volume placement than most doctors for it to look natural and defined, and without surgery. As for wrinkles, you can refer to these videos about how they can be treated non-surgically:

      Hi luvharmonies,
      A mini lift isn't an infection, so it doesn't require antibiotics unless you suffer from a complication like an infection, but it is a surgical procedure that does require anesthetic. I perform my facelifts with local anesthesia. I hope this clarifies things for you.

      @AmiyaPrasadMD  5 років тому +1

      Hi Julia Dixon,
      Surgical face lifting is not just the skin, but tightening soft tissue and muscle underlying the skin for results to be sustained as long as possible. Skincare will only benefit the skin, and it still can't stop the skin from aging. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    I have had my buccal fat removed 3 years ago, since then my skin SAGGED, i look so much older, so much laxity and volume loss. I don't want to fill my face with fillers or botox. I guess for me, it is a face lifting what i need. I am 34 years old

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Рік тому

      Hi @Discoverajijic,
      I don't recommend or perform buccal fat removal as the loss of youthful volume can make someone look older, and it also removes support for the overlying skin. I only perform buccal fat removal if the fat has descended, making it appear like jowls. 34 is generally too young for a facelift. • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  4 роки тому

      Hi dam mar,
      Actually the opposite is true as significant volume loss, including bone loss, starts in the mid to late 30s; while significant skin sagging usually occurs in the 50s. However, the skin can start losing its luster and glow by the mid to late 30s, but this is something that can be treated with minimally invasive injection treatments like PRP. I’m in my 40’s & doing all I can to prolong a facelift which my doctor says I don’t need. We do fillers, skin tightening & procedures with growth factors to stimulate collagen. My mom is in her late 70’s and has little wrinkles and very little sagging. She has never suntanned and always avoided being in the sun. My mom looks way younger than her age so I hope I have her good genes! When I’m ready I’ll get a facelift. Everyone is different. Some women my age look 10 years older so I think lifestyle & genetics really play a factor.

      There is no such thing as an instant facelift from a bottle or cream, so even though I don't know what this product is, it does not do what it claims. • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Sujitha M,
