I was not familiar with this piece or with the composer but this is glorious and fascinating music ! I am really glad that you posted the score as well to follow along. Think I will listen to this several times over the next few days - so many interesting and clever things to take in more fully by repeated listening ! Thank you and bravo ! :-)
Ooh - this is powerful! I like it - your registration speaks boldly with conviction - it proclaims the theme! It's the famous Winters' articulation on display.
The king of instruments, indeed! I never heard of Franz Tunder before. Hopefully this will not be the last time his music is performed on this channel.
The best of the "Stylus Phantasticus" by the early Baroque masters..Tunder,Reinken,Buxtehude,Pachelbel, Bruhns, and of course their culmination in J S Bach. I love the echo motiffs that you played and careful registration changes that added to the variations, Win! This reminds me of the now defunct Musical Heritage society recording of Sweelinck onPacific North west recordinggs on Brobaugh organs. I got the same "vibe" from your recording. Too b ad I only had this recording on cassette and the rest has been lost to ime...:( Keep sharing your classic recordings, please!
I enjoy your playing because you seem never to be in a hurry. There are some quite personable organists on UA-cam, a few of which seem to play fast simply because they can. But not so you. The great Alkmaar organ was the first of my favourite Dutch organs - until I heard that of St Bavo when I realised the intellectual folly of having a "favourite" organ. Bravo, Wim.
Weem you are such a talented organist! Great musicality great tempi great registrations and real soul I too am an organist and when I hear you play I think that is just how I would play it
If this was a youth-performance, you must be very old and mature now! :) Bravissimo! Thanks for the info.-section, and the score. Like gabithemagyar here below, I intend to listen to this performance several times because there is a lot to learn, and hearing it only once is not enough. Thanks a lot for uploading
Mr. Winters, words cannot describe how impressed I am at this performance. You made the music yours. Another piece that shows us that people definitely knew what they were doing, no matter how many centuries ago. If I were to conpose a piece like this today, I'd ne called a genius.
We have recorded now almost 8 symphonies, the 9th will be recorded in December with 4 professional singers. The releases will be slightly different from the past, focusing more on CD/Vinyl, and Patreon. Though the recordings will be made available here on UA-cam as well as part of this. All for the coming months, and 2022. For now, I'm working more on finishing our book than on UA-cam. I finally discovered a day only has 24 hours!

I studied a year of Baroque music at university, never heard of him either. Great piece.
One of Holland's finest organs, excellent for Tunder! I like how you give the music space, without hurrying too much.
so you can hear the echoes
@@rexcowan9209 Exactly. Echoes were very important for organ music of Tunder, but also Scheidemann, Scheidt, Buxtehude, Leyding etc etc

Wonderful played Wim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First time I hear this piece, I really liked it!
First time for me too. Now I must look for more of his work!
Thanks for listening
Such a beautiful sound! Thanks a lot, didn't know about Tunder, what an amazing way to know him for the first time!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ah! 17e-eeuwse Noord-Duitse orgelmuziek is mijn geliefde muziek! Bedankt, Wim. Ik ben erg blij u op het orgel te horen spelen.

One of my favorites! Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.
Heard about Tunder only a week ago, and today found this beautiful piece. Thank you so much for music and score
Excellent performance!

Very lovely music, thank you! In my humble opinion, you are truly an excellent, all-around keyboardist, Maestro, met handen en voeten, ha :)
Absolutely beautiful! Nothing else to say here...
Very impressive! Thank you.
Complimenti per aver messo la partitura ci si rende conto della complessità nell’eseguire.Complimenti.

Note to Authentic Sound. Are there any plans to record all of the Haydn Sonatas? Many thanks for all of your uploads.
there are a dozen or so on the channel, when the schedule once would allow: yes
I will look forward to that. Best wishes for the future. @@AuthenticSound
