He does the screams on the studio version, but Live sounded better than the studio version that was released on octane SiriusXM earlier in the day because live Matty's vocals were more raw vs the more processed/produced sound from studio version.

Dude, it was such a sick show. And this song hit hard. I was opposite side of you but can we take a moment to talk about how their bassist almost stole the show? Dude was sooo tempted to go full Crab Core.
New song + First performance = Backing track. This is normal in the professional music world.
Yeah, you can tell it's only in certain parts where it's giving assistance, mostly for timing to start verses and the echo effects. Just a little more into the video where the word cemetery is supposed to be, it's completely omitted by Matty and the backing track is not there to fill it in, and the scream is less in duration live than on the vocal track. so people thinking this is an straight up lip sync are exaggerating.
Opps.....forgot that he was lip syncing at 0:25....he was "singing" before the mic was anywhere near his mouth, then that mic came up REAL fast!
@@technewsfortechnoobs yep, backing track to get him started on the timing of the song but you clearly hear his voice takes over after. The way he does the verses are different than the album and he omits the word cemetery live and the way he screams the words "what keeps me sane" is different than the single release. :)
Do you happen to know the entire setlist? I’m seeing them live in Houston on Saturday and I’m really hoping for a mix of new and old songs
I was there with Aaron and it was a fresh set list. They made sure they played a lot of old ones and mentioned so, with a mix of brand new ones.
It was a fun time tonight.
The set list wasn't online at the time, but it was a perfect mix of old and new.
It was the same with The Word Alive. New and old. A blast. Enjoy, my dude.
I updated the setlist on setlist.fm as best I could recall, probably messed up the order. But this show MMF was the headliner. On the show you go to the will be second to asking Alexandria so the setlist may be reduced on your show.

On shows with asking Alexandria I am assuming it's going to be the same thing but AA will be headlining

As stated in other comments, heavy back track used on this new song. It's the only song on the setlist that was like that. I chalk it up to the fact it's new and aren't used to it yet, there for Max assistance to ensure it sounds as good as possible

@@azthegame84 Agreed. A lot current songs, especially this track, are heavily processed, and use backing vocals to layer for doubling.
@@azthegame84 I was so confused for a second, clearly there were playback vocals, but then 2 seconds later there were mic pops with the vocals (to me indicating that part is live)
And could have been a guide on when to come in since it was so new.

Yeah... But they probably would ease off the backing track a bit as they go. I'm sure this being the absolute very first time they performed this particular song live, probably took every measure to ensure he gets the timing and vocals down. Just giving the benefit of the doubt cause we all know the dude has the skill and talent.

The album version is less aggressive. That's Matty's vocals lol. I was actually worried about the song after hearing on radio but it's so much better live because Matty makes it better than what he did on studio version.
They however do use echo effects at concerts

@@AdamJCastro yes they use backing tracks for certain parts of songs. Another example is on the song your turn where the whole intro is a Matty backing track before he takes over.

There's Def a difference between using backing vocals aids and straight up lip syncing though.
definitely not trying to defend them here but yeah it's just backing tracks and an autotune module to help compensate. It's why it doesn't sound, live, but I promise you that it is. 😊
