As people have pointed out, Gaddock does not stop the creatures I mentioned. That's what I get for going off script! I thought I had forgotten to include them, but I was right not to.
By my quick count, it has 13 PT/MC/Worlds top 8s and 27 GP top 8s for 53 points, which should be enough, unless its double red casting cost excludes it for some reason.
Oh wow. I mention it once and suddenly it's done, but I ask for Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9) and still haven't got my wish. I see your game Nizzahon. I've gotta be *sneaky* then.
Have you considered top 10 lists for for bears, squires, hill giants and the like with strict mana cost structure? For example a top 10 bear list that only contains cards costing 1 generic mana and 1 colored mana, or top 10 hill giants costing exactly 3 generic mana and 1 colored mana? The reason I'm asking is that it doesn't seem like a completely intuitive comparison for me to the original namesakes (grizzly bear, hill giant etc) if you include multi color cards or double/triple mana symbol cards, as they naturally would have a lot more identities that the text boxes need to bolster compared to say grizzly bear that was only a sjngle mana into green. I would be interested to see what the list would look like if we only tracked how a specific mana cost structure evolved over the years.
Duskwatch recruiter is my absolute favourite. God card. The discount helps cast spells to transform and the mana sink helps not cast spells to also transform.
As someone who loves bears (the animal), I wonder what a Top 10 Bear creature type would look like. Pretty barren, since I'd guess only Werebear, Bearscape, and maybe Flaxen Intruder would have points?
I am genuinely surprised that none of the top 5 have a single point in Vintage. Except for Ooze they have all been staples in Fish at one point or another. Has Fish just never actually been very good in Vintage? Also, I did not realize how big Containment Priest was in Vintage. Half of it's points are in the format.
Bears are generally fairly low power, only a few seeing any play in eternal formats. Speaking of eternal formats, how about a top 10 vintage cards (include power 9)?
@@NizzahonMagic Ah, right. I just looked it up and it used to be a term for 2/2 vanillas but now some people refer it to mean any 2/2 creature. But, technically, the MTG slang term "bear" refers to a vanilla 2/2 creature.
I don't think "technically" is the word you want there. Maybe "originally," but these days people use it for any two mana 2/2, and some even call cards like Thalia a bear!
Next year they'll print a blue 2/2 for 1U with "When this card enters the battlefield, gain control of target permanent opponent controls. Draw 3 cards." Afterwards, someone in R&D will still say "you know what, simic needs more help."
Blue can't get a 2/2 for 1U! It'd have to be smaller and have an option to make up the difference, something like a 2/1 with "At the beginning of your upkeep, look at the top card of your library. You may reveal that card. If an instant or sorcery card is revealed this way, transform Totally Reasonable Small Blue Creature into a 5/4 with Flying." Then it'll be totally in line with blue's identity of having bad creatures, right? Call it Spelunker of Hidden Lore, very mage-science-y and thus fits the color pie perfectly. Honest answer is that I actually didn't realize they still didn't have a monoblue bear yet, are they still trying to pretend blue doesn't get efficient creatures? Why even bother, who is it fooling?
As people have pointed out, Gaddock does not stop the creatures I mentioned. That's what I get for going off script! I thought I had forgotten to include them, but I was right not to.
It would be interesting to see a top 10 on 2/1 for 2. Thalia, bob, snap, young pyro and many more multi formats all star
What would green's power piker be? Lotus Cobra?
colorless for revoker
This is a friggin powerdul list
This list is weird cause Thalia is considered a hatebear mostly
Snapcaster mage

7:28 Unless I'm missing something, Gaddock Teeg shouldn't be able to hose Hangerback Walker or Walking Ballista since they're creatures.
Go Giants Causeway! You are correct that it doesn’t hose those cards(although it tends to hose the decks they are in)

Yeah! I want to root for my boy Werebear and his dad joke flavor text!
@Explain the fun away My boy Werebear would be eligible for that list too.
I doubt there are five bear cards with points let alone ten
“Which bear is best?”
Ben Liegner bear beets battlestar galactica
idk why but I kinda refuse to believe that Eidolon of the Great Revel isn't on the list

If you could be a Bear while costing RR, then "Blue doesn't get Bears" would be literally untrue since as far back as Alpha.
@@djmasterruski that’s not true
The slide for Voice of Resurgence says " otal Score: 63" 4:10
Yeah, it's got 63 otals which if you don't know anything about otals is very good.
The glaring otal is very impressive.
Wait what, I was sure that Eidolon of the Great Revel would be on the list. How many points does it have?

I see what you did there.
I knew Servant of the Conduit and Longtusk Cub were heavily played back then but to actually see how they rank here is a surprise.

Ayula deserves at least an honorable mention.

Wild mongrel!!! Hmm. White Knight, black knight, can't think of any other bears. 🐻

And at number 1 we have Bomat Courier
