There’s only a few videos of a Black Knight, but my grandfather passed down a black 79 el Camino ss Black Knight to me in mint condition just like this beauty.
@@roryanri804 Black Knight was only 78 then GM was in a court battle and had to stop production cuz of it's name.. black knight was a comic character .. GM had to change it out to Royal Knight and resume production again under the Royal Knight name.
So basically a Black or Royal Knight was a package on top of the SS model?? I've watched the old laser disc that were put out for the GM salesman at the time when these were built and they mentioned them as all three separate models. Conquista, SS and Royal Knight.
@@8004dodgers You're 100% correct, good eye- that's absolutely a '78 grille. '79 has different horizontals, not an egg crate design like '78. It's easy to change them out. Just google image the two years and you'll verify this.

I might be wrong, but wasn't the black knight only for 1978? The 1979 model year had the Royal knight.
@@roryanri804 It's probably a 78, but from doing research its not many I can find that are Black Knights
I never knew this existed either, please upload more videos
