Out of all of these, I liked the SR Tech the most. When I heard the JodyJazz mouthpieces, I could tell they were JodyJazz by the sound they have but with the SuperJet, "'I'm afraid you're just too darn loud Next, please!"

Great shootout guys! Jim plays so darn well. I love my SRT Fusion so this brought a smile to my face. My 108 was never finished particularly nicely so it’s just been refaced and plated by Matt Marantz. Great piece.

Please hold the neck with your other hand while putting the mouthpiece on (especially on tenor) because over time the curve in the neck will weaken and bend if you don't use counter pressure from your other hand.

I’d suggest that anyone considering purchasing a high baffle tenor mpc should play test an Ed Pillinger CC9. They are amazing &, despite being quite a bright piece, they are incredibly versatile, full & gutsy in the low register and capable of providing smokey subtone.

Fantastic video! SR Tech takes the cake for me, followed by thy DV
Question for you: how does a high step baffle compare to a high rollover baffle? I assume there'd be more warmth with a rollover one. But I also suspect that it could be almost as bright

Are you going to make a soprano saxophone showdown video? You have done alto, tenor and baritone, but still waiting for that one.

Another question is about air support. Do you find a difference in the amount of air u have to put through the mpc to keep it up and running as opposed to large chamber. Thanks Dick

Great fun guys. I wish you had played a Lawton brass or bronze maybe 8* opening with either a B chamber or BB chamber. They have a high baffle. I would have liked to hear the contrast-old
school and new school. But there are many out there.

Thanks Bob! We're a big fan of Lawton mouthpieces, however we can't keep any on the shelves due to the high demand vs. the rate they can be manufactured.

Why o why? High baffle mouthpieces on a tenor are almost sacrilegious; it's like a castration, shrinking the space inside tenor mouthpiece to be the size of the normal alto baffle. It would be better to throw the instrument away. Like the high pitched sound? Then buy an alto instead and scream away.
