Fantabulous Mike.. True masterclass. This should bring great joy to my playing and sound with some practice. liked this video awhile back , and it clicked with the rewatch.
Very helpful, thanks Mike! I bought your book Clawhammer Christmas this past year and really enjoyed it too. Beginners like me really appreciate your contributions to the art of clawhammer, both on the web and in print!
this has been the most helpful video for right hand techniques that I have found so far! Thank you so much for helping me "get there" in just a few minutes!
Hi Mike, I just wanted to say that I am so grateful for the tabs you've posted online. I'm completely self-taught, and reading your "intermediate" tabs have allowed me to take my playing to the next level (there's left hand positioning stuff in there I could have never thought of on my own!) I love your playing and how organized your site is. I really admire how accurate and subtle your playing is. Thanks for sharing so much! Gabriel
Hey Mike, your website is wonderful. I can't thank you enough for the tab for Scotland The Brave from your site. I'm just learning it, and having lots of fun doing it. This is a fantastic instructional vid, too. Would you consider making some clips of the songs you have tabs for on your site? I'd love to watch you play Scotland The Brave. Thanks again and thumbs up for this one.

What brand of banjo is that? Is it a Pete Seeger Vega, or a rim with a longneck attached?
Arkansas Red - It’s a Deering/Vega longneck with a Waverly head and tailpiece...
Can you give some tips on the pluck part of the clawhammer strum? As a guitar player I feel like I pluck it way too much
Mike, your voice is like a fine aged at least 2 yrs whiskey, mixed with pine ,cedar and smoked fire...
That is the finest compliment I've ever received! Most people focus on my banjo playing, but I'm mainly a folk singer - so thank you!
@@BanjoUtah Just being honest! Haha Been a fan for a long time. Take care Mike⚡🎵
Good stuff!
Mike, Thank you for such a clear explanation of these techniques. I can Cluck! :-)
@BlueSageBand I have a long neck banjo too, could you show us a song or too.?
You should spell it like "thumbping."
great, thank you!
