+angelique weggemans there is one thing that will remain unfathomable to the mind... how was that the pure undifferentiated consciousness/space/nothingness/sunyata/the monad (or whatever you may call it based on your philosophy) came to differentiate, to give rise to "two"? we know how this 'form world' came to be in such an abundance of rich design, without a designer. but we only know the steps that begin upwards from a particular fundamental form of energy, and that is already form in itself. the question 'how this primordial form came to be' is unanswerable, and no man on earth can know that, however enlightened, wise or science minded he might be. it could be also that the world was always and forever this way... so, any which way it is... you cannot ask for this answer from anywhere, not even spira :)
He makes it so simple and clear. Since it is non dual concept one should remember that thoughts, perceptions and feelings are nothing but 'awareness'. Awareness only apparently becomes these thoughts and feelings. Theoretically 'awareness' does not become any thing -it is infinite without any parts. But still awareness only apparently becomes thoughts, feelings etc i.e mind. The best way it could be understood is -dream. In the dream the subjective awareness only apparently becomes dream objects. Same thing is in waking world. Traditional advaitins call this waking world ( dream) as maya. It is there and at the same time it is nothing but 'awareness'. Another example is magician's creation.
I do not understand how everybody thinks Rupert is clear... I like the idea of idealism but man! Please Rupert, explain to us how it seems that we do not share the same point of view, or that we seem to share a stable experience of the world. I also feel that we are actually all one and only consciousness but it does raise problems that need to be answered before we start sounding like gurus on Valium

The point is that you can start perceiving your mind as an object. When you do that, you start to dis-identify from the mind, and you become "I the Awareness":)

There is no difference between the speaking and silence. It works together as one. Cutting out the "silent" parts would destroy much of the essence of what's going on for anyone else who wanted to listen to this. This is a meditation. Silence essential. Would you use a time stamp on John Cage's 4'3"?

Awareness is the ultimate reality for the ego to identify with. Rupert is still enamored with it.
I remember seeing him in Shrewsbury. He was buying some treacle. Such a great man.
