just bought this up here in Canada, $41 + tax !! and now I see this video lol. I'll give it a go see what happens on my new truck. Excellent quality review, very thorough.
Awesome and thanks for this. I had watched the demo from the actual company but was skeptical about it. Reason being, they are trying to sell something where you're doing an honest unbiased demo. I'm subscribing to this channel.
Flippsen thanks a lot. Thanks for the recommendation. I am getting a test hood soon and will be testing some products on it. Will definitely give it a test.
I experienced a similar outcome as this video, with this product. It was sent back. While it functioned, it did not do so to the extent at which it was advertised.
Another great review! Very disappointing for such an expensive product. This isn't even a new concept, brands are just throwing ceramic on everything because it sells. I've been using Scotchgard for years and it works WAY better than this crap.
I totally agree! I wanted it to work and I had every reason to believe it would. Bummed to say the least. Thanks for watching the vids. I appreciate it.
Damn! I just bought this product for my Wrangler's soft top and paid $47 CA, it was the most expensive and the most recommended at the store. I'll try it tomorrow and see if I'm lucky enough.
@@HawaiiDetailing Well a really unexpected experience. I try to apply it to the soft top and most of it got repelled. My jeep is 2024 and I've had it just 3 months. I believe the dealer applied a product before delivery, because none of it was getting absorbed by the soft top.
@@ratonautonomo8963 Thats a good thing. At least there is something on there repelling the chemical. The CG product probably would not have done well anyway.
I’m just gonna be straight up I have used this product and it really does work. It could be because he didn’t allow the product to cure. I have this product on my seats on my car and I spilt a polar pop and I had outstanding results most of the liquid ended up in my weather tech mats
Thanks for commenting and watching. I am glad to hear that it worked for you. I just wanted to share my personal experience with the viewers. I bought the product with high hopes. I usually don't buy things and review them unless I thoroughly research them and plan to own them myself. I really thought it was going to work well. I replied to a comment from another viewer when they asked how long I waited after product application to test. I figured I would re post it. One thing to add to that comment is its been over 2 months and I have ran several more tests and water still soaks straight in to the fabric. My previous comment: I waited 24 hours for the first test. I tried again at 48 hrs. Same result. I even tried a week later to be sure before I posted the video. Water soaked right in. I did multiple coats and used plenty of product also. After watching a few other videos I believe it has become clear that it is only effective on select types of fabric. If the buyer is lucky enough to have the right fabric than it probably works fine. The bummer is it says all fabrics on the label. The fabric in my truck is a synthetic blend which it does not work well with. This is a super common fabric in trucks and trucks are the type of vehicles that would benefit the most from this product. Thanks for watching and for your feedback.
I too have had good luck with it on my 2018 C7. It does recommend using at least 2 applications for the best results. Now it may be the difference in fabrics etc. I can only tell you my floor mats look brand new and water beads up and does not saturate into them. Again my results with 2 applications about 40 min apart.
How long did you allow it to dry before pouring water onto it? I used this on a set of higher end Lloyd floor mats that spent more time in my trunk then on the floors because I was worried about them getting stained. I did two coats, 20 minutes in between and allowed them to completely dry over night and the results are exactly as advertised. I'm in no way trying to knock your video but I thing a longer wait will work better.

So with this product, your seats really have to be extremely dry before doing any application with it. i know you said you waited but i mean the sun was in the exact same spot judging by the lighting. This product if applied to something wet damp or even has humidity that's still evaporating beneath the seat in the foam (which is what I guessed happened). it negatively effects the products. thats why the bolsters were better than the midde, they didnt have evaporation happening beneath it AS MUCH as the middle. it still had a little. but not as much. a good way to test if the var is still evaporation anything is shut the doors and close the windows. if it looks like condensation happening after an hour then it's not done
I waited plenty of time for it to dry and applied the product. I even put half the bottle on there a few weeks after this test and it’s the same thing. It just does not bond to this fabric type. It says all fabrics on the label and thats not true. It is what it is. The bummer is most trucks that need this protection have similar fabric. I could put the rest of the bottle on there right now and it will still not repel water. I am always more then fair with my reviews and I really wanted this to work trust me. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
@@HawaiiDetailing I only ask because I did my own tests at my car lot and got your result and the advertised result. On one method I power washed shampooed and extracted just like any detailed does. After letting the surface dry (like you did in your video- only judging by the bolsters- the way you described checking if the entire seat is dried) and it didn’t work. Used a whole bottle for one seat and it never worked. Imagine a milkshake being sucked up through a straw. If the bolsters were the size of one cup, you’d empty it quickly. If the center was a cup you’d empty it after more time. You only checked and mentioned the bolsters being dry and can apply now. With the time that passed from being wet to dry on the bolsters and compared to your video lighting, it matches up perfect. But it takes 2 days in direct sunlight to lift all the water out of the seats in the center. The chemical compound is deteriorated when combined with water. You power washed your seats. Any humidity being evaporated through the chemical is neutralized and makes it ineffective to the claims. The only way for it to not work is if you combine it with any water while it’s applied or drying. My second method was applying it to a dry seat, not detailed or power washed at all recently. I applied 2 coats and let the first one dry for 4 hours in the sun. The second was the next day and I let it dry for 4 hours in the sun. It did exactly as advertised. Using less than you did, better results, and a different method. To achieve your results I had to power wash the seat and not let it dry completely. There’s no other environmental element to counter the effects of this product besides water, humidity around it, or evaporation passing through it. Something happens with water for you to get those results.
Just a question did you water test the seats and floor mat right after application? I’ve had iffy results as well, but the application states it needs some hours to cure
I waited 24 hrs for the first test. I even waited a week and tested again before I posted the video because I wanted to be certain it failed and also wanted to be fair. I really wanted it to work but unfortunately it came up short. I have watched other videos that showed it working on select fabrics. I think on synthetic blend fabric it does not seem to work. The bummer is it says works on all fabrics. Another bummer is this type of fabric is in a lot of trucks where I found this product would be most promising. Thanks a lot for commenting and watching.

If you watch the chemical guys video for this product they say to spray it from a distance to get more even coverage and also not to be too aggressive when you’re brushing it in. Maybe that’s where the issue arose?
I have went at it again since that video and unfortunately I put almost the whole bottle on the seats trying to get it to repel water and it just would not do it. It’s a fabric type issue.
