Joe Alt has huge upside in the NFL. Just turned 21yrs old and will only get stronger, quicker and better as a tackle. Chargers hit a home run at this pick. Their O-Line is much better now with Alt and will be able to protect Herbert & run the ball.
Doing the same thing over and expecting different results is supreme stupidity and that is what the Chargers have done for years - expecting to win without a superior offensive line... Joe alt brings the chargers a legit RT immediately which has been a problem for years now. On top of that allows the chargers to keep Herbert upright and finally have a legit run game. Bolt up!! ⚡⚡

The Jake Mathews comp is a bit of a reach. Alt is 3+ inches taller and already has more technique as a blocker than Mathews had entering the NFL. Mathews has 0 All-Pros and 1 Pro Bowl - Alt has more potential to be a top 5 tackle, especially with Slater helping out of the left side.
