So I’m a senior in college and I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with my life until recently. I’ve always been a creative person and learning VFX caught my eye a few months ago. Ever since then I’ve been trying to learn as much as I could on top of school work and I’m extremely passionate about this and want to pursue this as a career. I know I’m so far behind and have a lot to learn but I’m excited I found something I love. Your channel awesome and I can’t thank you enough for all this information!
this is just the easy part, i learned all of this in 6 months of my film education, now im trying to learn blender and maybe maya since its free for students
You seem to be a good guy... And i think you give good advice about the VFX field. I am going to vfx school in some time and hope your advice helps me there. Support from INDIA 🇮🇳 ❤️
I love Lebrov's stuff. Thanks for the tips, I'm gonna try to treat it like a beginner's syllabus although I think I might look into motion graphics first. I think I heard there's a lot of work out there in that. Been interested in trying to find some general work as a video editor and thought it would be helpful to be able to have some bonus After Effects skills to make my application more appealing. From watching Lebrov's stuff I get the sense that After Effects isn't really used in the professional world as a VFX tool but I figured doing VFX with it would be a good way to learn the tool and still get a grasp on basic VFX fundamentals. And it feels like a more accessible way to use VFX in my personal projects at least too. Do you feel like it's worth bothering to learn how to do VFX with something like AE? or should people skip straight to something like Nuke?
I ain't no pro, but this may help. Choose a software with the help of the internet. Find some good tutorials. Watch them, and practice what you learn in the software.
I know my reply might be a little late but whatever, I'll reply for others who might be wondering the same thing. I suggest getting into a program called Blender because this program can be downloaded for free and has some of the biggest support on the internet. There are tons and tons of tutorials and discords and other media types that help Blender users get better. Not only is it free but it has EVERYTHING! Compositing, modeling, sculpting, motion tracking, shading, texturing, 2D animation and more! I'm not saying it is the best software (cause it isn't!) but it's great for getting started and has everything you might want to try. Blender is a great way to dip your toes into each aspect of VFX before deciding on your strong suit. For example, Blender would be a good way to try out compositing before investing in a more professional program like Nuke (Industry standard, cost 5,000$ to use commercially). I hope this helps anyone who is interested in getting started.
Hi there my friend can you upload some video of your work ? I hope so your not just theory, im not a hater just curiosity in what level of result you have after all this theory. Thanks
