I feel like The End V1 and V2 fit Costume through the Perspective of Mike Robertson, with the Somber Moments telling his mental instability. But This Version's Oppressive and Dark Sound definitely fits Costume from an outside perspective; He's literally a Serial Killer, wearing a Costume of a character you'd Trust.
I feel like Half of V2 does fit that, while the other Half of V2 sounds more cheery, like maybe representing the fact this is a guy in a Mario costume, and Mario's upbeat personality. While I think in the song it was implemented kinda poorly and just sounds way to out of touch, if this was intentional I think the idea would've been awesome

I love this as someone who already likes both "The End"s, I especially love how the instrumental for the song at a lot of points (most prominently 1:42-2:19) reminds me a lot of Aphex Twin. I like the melancholic feeling.
Fun Fact: I recently found out that the two actors that appear in the original image from the thumbnail is Jason Bateman and Justine Bateman. They were with Mario at 1987 Beverly Hills "Super Mario-A-Thon". I don't know the actors that much, but I just found out that Jason Bateman is Nick Wilde from Zootopia.
I like this retake a lot, everything that didn't fit prior like the voice lines and some sections were changed and the tone was deepened. This is super cool!
I find it interesting how it seems like V2 and Retake versions of The End took Melodic phrases of V1 and expended them indivbidually to very different directions. Like V2 feels more constantly intense and House Party like while Retake is a lot more melancholic with more quiet and cold segments.

Okey I think the scream at the beginning is from the presenter after being killed by the man in the suit, that is, Mike, then boyfriend saw the murder and in order to not leave witnesses, Mike tries to kill boyfriend and girlfriend. I slightly prefer this version than V2 since that one sounds like a frenetic hodown and doesn't really fit, and vastly more than V1, that was obviously rushed to meet the deadline. This retake is the right length and has the correct theming. It's a serial killer dressed in a Mario costume and it's the second to last song of the mod, with the oppressive and intimidating sound to match. I really hope this song is the one replacing V1 in the next update (V3 apparently, I thought it was just 2.1)
Now THIS is a more faithful V2 of the original, keeping the same sense of desperation and ominous feel to it. I like iKenny's V2, but its far too upbeat and generic in comparison to what made v1 so unique to me.

From what i can remember about Costume he Appears in one small scene in SM64 Classified which he appears on 09 02 97 At The End of the video. However Costume draws more Inspiration from a Spanish Creepypasta Called Mario Bros Asesnio about a man named Mike Robertson who wants to win a Nintendo 64 but the contest for Mike turns out to be rigged and only the girl won the N64 the host then tells Mike there's another N64 he has for him to which Mike Follows the host to only to find out there is no other N64 for Mike to which the game show host calls Mike a Idiot Mike gets angry at the host for tricking him for making him think there was another N64 this then makes the Game show host Beat Up Mike and of course Ties up Mike in the tree after this Mike then wears a Bloody Mario Costume and Uses a Large Dagger Knife he holds with him he then kills some people that the game show host knows and then steals the N64 that the girl won after this the Police then go inside of his house only to find out he's not in his house but only with the N64 running with Mario Dying on the Screen over and over again that's all I can explain to you about costumes origins. According to Annielouge aka Greenio she said Costime was meant to be part of some plot point in SM64 Classified before he got scrapped to which he is now a Creepy Visual.
Im going to be honest. All versions are great. Some mixed about v1 but im a huge fan anyways. This is EXTREMELY fitting, v2 is overall better adaptation of v1 as a banger. V1 is still got its gripes but its differences isn't all bad. What a blessed final (all star is like mid totally 🤓)
