I feel like this is made for the queers who were in middle and high school in the 00s, cuz we didn’t get to have openly queer music, and if it did exist it wasn’t made for teens. now there’s so many openly queer artists in almost every genre and it makes me SO happy for young queers today, but also broken-hearted for little me who was outed at 15 and had really nothing to turn to that specifically spoke to me. I mean any queerness that was represented in the mainstream when I was outed was white cis gay men, and of course I celebrated it as progress, but I didn’t have anything that represented MY identity and was craving it so much. When hayley kiyoko’s song girls like girls came out in 2012(?) near the end of high school for me, it was the only thing close to what I was experiencing and I played it over and over again because it was all I had. Sure there had been some stuff that was subtly queer but that was the first queer femme song that was like HELL YEAH I LOVE WOMEN and it brought me to tears.

I went to a highschool with 3000 students and didn't know a single openly queer or non-binary person, including my best friend's sister as we all later were thrilled to find out when she came out as trans. And this was in California, albeit in a small mountain town where I regularly saw the Confederate flag being flown off the back of trucks by losers (who are hopefully and statistically more likely to be dead of COVID, so there's a ray of sunshine). It's crazy how recent and yet how far in the past that feels at the same time.

I wish the song wasn't themed around cheating.
This is the song I'm obsessing over now
i cannot explain how this song makes me feel omg
This is giving me 2000's vibe.
This has big Totino’s Pizza Rolls energy.
Right?!?😂😂😂
HAHAHAH i was thinking the same thing
I scrolled down to see if someone mentioned this SNL skit!!
Ahah yes!
Thank gosh I wasn't the only one who noticed
This is a banger🔥🔥
😍😍TYYY
I can't tell my parents because they are very religious but I HAVE A HUGE crush on this girl ahhh she's so cute but I can't tell them im gay
Great song, great energy, and Sarah is so cuuute.
66 yo man here, mostly cis, sometimes gay, goes back & forth. I just found this and I kinda effin' love it! More every time I watch. The women are flirty and having fun and not thinking is this someone I "shouldn't" love? Just how love and lovemaking should be.
this is a great song, whats also great is the person leap frogging over the other one at 2:20
I wish there were videos like this when I was 12 so I knew I was normal. I'm glad I can jam out to it openly now
i am obsessed with this, the song and video is everything!! making the gays proud sarah :')
I wish it wasn't themed around cheating.
I feel like this song transported me back to the late 90's early 2000's.
the purple and the blond was a damn good move!!!1!!
That's some amazing chemistry. Absolutely electric!
How am I only just hearing this?! This is such a banger! I'm obsessed

This so slaps imagine this in the 2000s man we'd all have had our awakening real quick
She's so tiny but she has such a powerful personality, she's awesome
for whatever reason; this song makes me happy
I wish it wasn't themed around cheating.
@@greywolf7577 it's not. The MC is friends with her brother, not dating the brother.
There's just a really fun energy to the song and video.
1:51 best part ever
Just two gal pals being gal pals so cute
This is such a happy song with a happy and energetic vibe and amazing voice 😄
It sounds like genderswapped Fountains Of Wayne or Bowling For Soup from the early 2ks. I absolutely love it.
More of this please.
This is so 2005 and I'm loving it and I'm here for it
Note to self, make sure my friends have sisters and introduce me to them.

That never works out for me lol.
@@banjothebudgie1049 doesn’t work out
Aww to have had songs like this when I was in highschool. Oh well, I can still enjoy them now.
i loved the song for how clear she is about her feelings
Straight dude here and this is one of the most adorable videos I've ever seen. The lead singer and actress have such good chemistry, and I love that this video isn't shot in a sexual way but rather a genuinely affectionate "first sparks of love" kinda way
I wish it wasn't themed around cheating.
@@greywolf7577 Stop posting this on almost every positive comment about the song. :/
@@klltx2001it's only an opinion/:
