That's super great! but I read the warning label on the expanding insulating foam,, I wouldn't touch it smell it or anything now until I get a hazmat suit lol?
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL🎃
That pumpkin could be one of those warty looking ones. It's a fancy heirloom variety! 💝
Absolutely! Nobody likes a perfect pumpkin, they look fake!
@@StiltbeastStudios Saw an interview with a pumpkin grower quite a few years ago. He said that the imperfect pumpkins were starting to become popular, where before they would have to sort them out and discard them before sending bins to the store. Buyers used to want perfect skins and proportions.
That would be a great title
🎃 ❤
That’s what I was thinking too!
The fact that it's a little bit "off" actually makes it more effective as a Halloween decoration.
Your mom said it was great. :)
@@StiltbeastStudiosI heard her scream, so you Mohave did a good job.
I love it its freaking awsome im obsessed with pumpkins lol
This has to be the coolest diy pumpkin I have seen. So happy I was recommended this video. 🎃
Glad you liked it!!
We need ppl like this gentleman in our schools teaching our children, making learning exciting.
if only I liked children, I have spent my whole career scaring them! lol.
That's okay too...@@StiltbeastStudios
You make the most fantastic items on your channel! Thank you so much for sharing your talents, you’re much appreciated and inspiring! 👍🏻👏🏻👋🏻
Very kind, thank you for tuning in! Go make you some pumpkins!
Don't cut yourself short, these are AWESOME! I'm really glad this was recommended to me. Looking forward to more! :D
I’m so glad you just posted this video. I’ve been experimenting using spray foam and balloons to make pumpkins. I’ve been wracking my brain trying to come up with another method to make the shape. The balloon is super precarious. 😂🎃
I've seen the balloon method, it did not seem ideal. Glad you enjoyed the video, this was fun!
I did the same thing a few years ago and made a "Pumpkin Head" for a costume. I used waxed paper on a piece of cardboard, pulled the neck of the balloon through a small whole in the paper/cardboard, and then wrapped waxed paper and painters tape around the lower half of the balloon so it would stand up while I applied the G.S. foam. I did a "stem" on top with G.S. and then carved the stem to shape.
I used chicken wire to make the form, using double layers when possible. Then I sprayed the foam around the chicken wire.
Thin inflatable beach balls for the win.
You never cease to amaze me . I watch you more than Svenghoolie .
lol- praise indeed! Thank you for watching!
Soccer mom, etsy-like channels be like "how to make spoooooky halloween decor with dollar store items..." Robert - "Hold my beer!" Lol.
That's how it goes around here! lol!
Dude! The fact you made a Halloween jack O lantern outta spray foam is truly epic! Now this is what I call art! New sub! 🎉
Thanks for the sub!
And one that you can actually wear it's amazing!
I love how the jaw sat on his beard and actually moved up and down hahaha great stuff
I have a 50 foot tractor-trailer load of locktite and greatstuff coming because of you. Thanks a lot!!! lol. Seriously though, I absolutely love the ideas you come up with. I've taken some of them and modded them to adapt to my needs. That's one of the best parts about these types of projects. There is so much creative freedom. I really appreciate you sharing your creativity with us.
Glad I could help! I need that trailer load lol!
Thanks for the idea! We do pumpkin head photo shoots every year, but real pumpkins get messy and this store bought carving foam ones are usually too small for an adult head. This should do the trick.
Awesome- it certainly will. Let it air out a while before you put it on your head.
That would be a great way to make a barrel cactus also! Love this, definitely going to try it! Thanks Mr. Hopps! 😁
indeed...if you need a barrel cactus...
I made a pumpkin like this about 6 years ago with the same bowls except mine was purple and green. Only thing i did different was made them on the outside of the bowl. Of course mine needed shaving a bit and yours looks wayyyyy better. So cool to see this. Still my favorite videos of yours. I will never get tired of spray foam or any kind of foam pumpkins! Spray foam is king!
I think we're still exploring its many uses- thank you for watching and your kind words!
I love this! The fact you put it on as a mask at the end just makes it so much better! Love it!
High end looks without the cost, with professional results and every piece unique.
You never fail to amaze me with what you can do with spray foam. This year I am obsessed with pumpkins and you are feeding this obsession very nicely! Currently I am using paper clay to make the first of my many planned pumpkin projects...it needs patience...but THIS...I can make as many as I want in just a few hours! Thank you! Awesome video as always!
Im so glad you like the videos, I wish you all the luck in your pumpkin halloween Projects!
It needs a stem. There. I said it.
That's why I put a stem on there! lol!
What makes you say that? You don't know it's a crackhead. Don't stereotype jack-o'-lanterns like that!
It has one
I’ve been crafting with greatstuff foam for years and I just learned more from this video than I ever have on my own! Thanks for all the tips and inspiration!❤
Glad it was helpful!
Haters gonna hate but I desperately needed a permanent cheap lightweight DIY option to up our Halloween game. THANK YOU! Cause trying to buy stuff like this would cost hundreds for the plan we have which means we couldn't do it ❤
The way the jaw moved when you used it as a mask was actually terrific! It would make an excellent Headless Horseman or general pumpkinhead character. If it strikes your fancy, I would loooooove to see a video about how to make a gargoyle. All the tutorials I have found are about making something actually concrete, or else an intensive foam-board-carving process. I know you could do it inexpensively, quickly, and more easily! I'm guessing you would shape the details with your favorite Loctite sculpting method, but i can't figure what kind of base/frame would be good for the relatively small scale of a gargoyle 🤔
Actually, a 3D gargoyle project is already in the works so you should see that before Halloween!
Aluminum foil?
Soooo cool! Love it! I wonder if you could add the ridges with loctite foam? Kinda do a mixed medium pumpkin. That way, you could control the shape more and "beautify" it a bit more 😂. Love the stem and mask elements of the video. Humor is always appreciated. Thanks for sharing. Awesome tutorial!
Thanks man- this was fun!
I love watching all the stuff y'all make. It gives me so many ideas.
That is the plan, go make stuff!
Great walkthrough. Thats one beautiful boat. Go dawgs.
I just made a spray foam pumpkin about a week ago in just about the same size and it looks eerily similar! Great Halloween minds think alike 🎃 I used a homemade paper mache clay to build up the details on the stem and it turned out great.
Awesome! Just make sure you water proof it before letting it live outside. Thanks for tuning in!
@@StiltbeastStudios anything special to waterproof it? I just picked up like 10 cans of loctite to do an activity with my kids lol.
Paper clay is my go-to medium! My little studio is filled with various sized paper clay pumpkins in different stages of the process. My plan is to also start making them from spray foam!
I absolutely LOVE this! I'm definitely making a bunch of these this year. Wish we could post pictures on here, because I'd post photos of stuff I've made over the years that YOU taught me.
Maybe you can add a link here so we can see all the stuff you've made?
you can show me on FBI have a group called stiltbeast live creepers!

Stumbled upon this. GREAT PROJECT!!
so much work, but sooo worth it.
It was so cool when you put the pumpkin on your head and it moved when you talked. Thanks so much for all your great videos.❤
Glad you liked it!!
This is freakin' AWESOME!! Trying to figure out some new Halloween decorations.....FOUND IT!! The one thing (there are many) things I love about your channel is using basic tools to do studio quality props! It just boggles my mind!
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoy the channel and Go Make Stuff! Happy Halloween!
When your DIY "Hack" is way more expensive, complicated, time-consuming, and worse looking than just carving a real pumpkin.
its not a hack, never said that. look at the other comments, there are a few like this as UA-cam pushes me out to a wider audience who don't decorate or have a haunted house to decorate. people have been trying to figure out a spray foam pumpkin for about 15 years for home haunts and haunted attractions. This is semi permanent, will last for years and costs $12 to make. It takes an hour and a half and you can carve whatever face you want in it. You don't need a fake pumpkin, so you don't see the need this fills.
I think it is AWESOME! Craggly pumpkin jacks like this are SO expensive anymore! The wartier the better is my preference bc I LOVE Halloween decor!
My least favorite part about carving a pumpkin is that they don't last. This is a fix for that. In that way it much better than a pumpkin. Also my cat woulx overeat the insides and the make a mess with a real one.
Everyone who says just buy a real pumpkin would have to buy one every year.
Plus this one has more personality like one of those heirloom pumpkins with the inconsistencies.
And it doesn't / wasn't intended to look real.
Reminds me of how someone would draw one in a comic book.
its a fun haunted house prop- this time of year my videos get pushed to lots of non haunted house people who dont get it or I dont explain well enough for the masses.
Excellent job! Thank you, sir
That's cool! Thanks for the idea!!
Loved it as a mask!!! So cool ! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!!
I love how many creative ways you come up with a use of everyday accessible materials ❤ just FI-YAH brotha! 🔥
Truthfully, I was getting a bit of flack for using Locktite so much because it is more expensive than Great Stuff. I know I could have done a better job on this project with Locktite but Great Stuff is so much cheaper and more readily available. Thank you, sir!
I dont know if the intention was to create a literal pumpkin mask, but it totally sells. Giving me some flashbacks to pumpkinhead....Love these videos....Perfect for learning and entertainment during the Halloween season.
Happy Halloween!
That was both creative and clever. I can see so many possibilities.
they are fun to make.
I used Great Stuff and Loctite for years in my critter factory for community theatre in my area. Your technique is next level! I am learning so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
locktite is the best for sure!
This has to be one of my favorite videos you've done! Very nicely done.
Yay, thank you!
I love this idea
I love your tutorials! You make them fun to watch while packing in so much great technique. I just started on my first foam pumpkin yesterday after watching this tutorial. Thank you so much!
You can do it! I hope it turns out amazing!
AWESOME!! Was just thinking about doing this and thought I'd check on youtube first! LOVE it as a mask as your jaw makes the mouth move. FANTASTIC WORK!!!
Awesome! Thank you!
You are my fav to watch this time of year! That’s awesome
you are so kind- its spooky season!
Brilliant, thanks for that great idea, your very talented artist
Used this procedure today and they turned out awesome! I made them lumpy and grotesque looking. Thanks a million for this tutorial
Im so glad you did it! you made stuff!
Great ideas as always! I had a dream recently where I was getting orange paint for pumpkins I made from your tutorials at Walmart and you were the paint counter guy. You were very helpful and would have made walmart proud 😊
That will be my second career if this whole haunted house thing doesn't work out....
The ending was the best! Very funny! Loved it!
Thank you! And thank you for tuning in to the channel.
Best pumpkin I have seen yet! Makes me want to make one
do it!
Yes it is the most beautiful pumpkin around!!
if you are 20feet away and squint real hard.
I liked the idea and was on the fence but then you put it on your head. As a mask, this thing is awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! It was a fun project- and thanks for tuning in!
Dude it’s awesome. So many ideas forming!!
Glad you think so! and more to come!
i didn't think it was gonna be as cool as it is, but this is awesome! and i loved it when you put it in your head! cooler yet!
things get way cooler once you shove your head in their bottom hole!
Ok. So I finally decided to give this a try. It worked so well. And I was to impatient and got spray paint all over my hands. But the point was to have fun and make something. Thanks for sharing the how to.
I was a martyr for you, I was impatient and got paint on my hands so you would learn from me lol.
That is freaking awesome!!!
Ike Its good to hear from ya!
AWESOME! Love it!
Another idea I thought of for an option for making a scary hollow foam jack-o'-lantern by just taking an inflated balloon and spraying the great stuff foam sealant over the balloon evenly as possible making sure their aren't any openings/ holes in the foam so you can't see any parts of the balloon ( unless the holes are for scary accents) and letting the foam cure and then popping the balloon inside and then beginning to shape the foam with carving tools then for (optional details) adding sculptamold or some sculpt able foam over top of the cured spray foam for realistic details. The sculpt able foam could be from mixing acetone with Styrofoam and dissolving the Styrofoam into a workable/sculpt able putty for sculpting the scary details of the jack-o'-lantern s face and contours.
When you put it on at the end and the mouth moved ..epic!
its a goodtime!
Keep this great creativity coming! Love your projects🎃
thank you Erika !
This came out absolutely perfect. The fact that it's "ugly" makes it perfect
that means I am perfect!
@@StiltbeastStudios Me too.
Ooh can’t wait to see more…. On a break from work, will tune back in!
Thanks! And thanks for watching the video!
Turned out awesome!!!! I’m gonna try this !!!!!

So I counted 3 cans of great stuff?
You are a treasure and this is such a cool idea.
It was actually only 2 cans- and thanks for tuning in!
Great Job Robert so glad I just found your channel. You made me smile❤
im so glad, go make stuff!
Thats great. I've been looking for away to make pumpkins. Thanks for experimenting and showing what could be possible 👍
Thanks- these work out to about $7.50 a piece if you get a good price on the spray foam- Go Make Stuff!
With most other brands of great stuff, I've had a lot of luck preventing sticking with water that is heavily saturated with detergent soap (a.k.a. "Wet Water."):
1) Take a water bottle with a sprayer, and the most basic liquid dish soap you can find.
2) Fill the water bottle 3/4 of the way with water.
3) Start adding soap until you have filled the bottle 1/8 of the way with the dish soap. (1/2 of the remaining usable volume.)
4) DO NOT SHAKE. Roll the water bottle back and forth gently until the soap has dissolved.
5) If the initial application still sticks, just add more dish soap to the water, roll-mix it, and try again. Don't be shy with the detergent.
6) Re-apply to your hands/tools every few minutes until the foam starts to harden.
You can also use this to sculpt with caulk.
Neat! Thank you for sharing that!
I love your creations!
Glad you like them!
I love this pumpkin... 😊
Thanks for the nice comment!
Dude this is such a smart idea. I will be doing this for sure next weekend.

I love this guy! I especially love that you speed up the obvious. I can't wait till tomorrow ❤

I freaking love watching ur videos!!
I freaking love reading your comments!
Very cool. Breaking the great stuff foam pumpkin code is something I think people have been trying for a while. I think you came out with nice results.
It has been on my mind for a long time. I think it will be a modification of this technique that is the best answer.
Great job 👏 . Thanks for sharing 👍
That is a totally awesome punpkins. Imma have to try making some. Loved it as a mask!
