    How do you embiggen your tone?

    • @MrSpike7590

      A Vertex Nyle or Xotic SP Compressor in Front or Mesa Graphic EQ pedal in the Loop!! That Uberschall Module sounds Sick!! Is that Module really dark sounding with the tone controls at noon? I'm asking because my Uberschall Head is Really Dark.

      @@MrSpike7590 yeah it's got those classic Bogner pot tapers where you need to crank the mids and treble. probably my favourite Syn module though.

      @LeonTodd I think it safe to say "A tone chasers pedal". Interesting pedal. Nice aray of tones. They really come up with something good here.

      Currently using a very subtle comp from my Rothwell Love Squeeze into either my RC Booster or MI Audio Effects Boost 'n Buff. Sometimes both, with the RC up front and the B'nB post-dirt pedals. Makes everything sound embigger and embetter

    The ZIO is my favorite pedal this year for sure. I use it at the front of the board to drive the rig. I use it always on, but change settings with different pedal/amp channel/guitar combinations. Single Coils / JFet and Dark into Bright Cleans and adm mode on the DIG. Humbuckers/ Low Cut and Med into High Gain , or E-Plex and Bright into Marshall Crunch and ride the volume knob. It is the secret sauce between the guitar and amp. The best part is that it doesn't alter the sound of your guitar's pickups.

      @@LeonTodd mostly a mesa mark v. I have a khe amp switcher and in that rig are my mark v, a Friedman runt 20 and a Marshall 20 watt plexi.
      I play mostly classic rock/hard rock so my tones mostly in the vein of that kind of music. So the zio to me really shines when I’m going for a lower gain sound and I just need a little sizzle to it to liven it up some or when I’m going for a lead sound and I need to really give it some nice sustain and bite.
      I also love it on guitars like strats and teles. It really makes both of those guitars sound punchier.

    I have been using one for about a month now and I really like it. Mainly always on with the Low Cut as a bit of boost/clean up mud. It really seems to let the tone of the amp shine through. The other way is using the Echoplex circuit with the Source Audio EQ2 in front (EVH Blue EQ setting) in to a plexi type setup (Synergy Plexi or Crunch channel on a SLO). Ooh, that combo really hits the spot. :). Though I do add a low cut to the EQ2 setting for my taste.

      Ooooh I need to try that combo

  • @Tvaroh
    @Tvaroh 2 роки тому

    Very nice, waiting for mine to arrive next week. Wondering so far if it can work as enough treble boost by combining bright tone and low-cut modes. To un-muddy things up before the amp.

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  2 роки тому +1

      More than likely that will hit the spot, without being as wild as a TB can get.

    • @Tvaroh
      @Tvaroh 2 роки тому

      @@LeonTodd yeah, so far it seems like so.

    • @Tvaroh
      @Tvaroh 2 роки тому

      Yeah, I confirm I did it job very nicely. It replaced a pedal I was using to boost trebles, kind of high shelf. The low-cut mode is perfect and it tightens low-end in a better way, more like low-cut filter with some resonance accentuating punchy low-mids, instead of just adding high frequencies without actually optimizing low-end balance. Tone switch is more like an effect in this setting, depending on desired sound.
