not sure if anyone gives a damn but if you are stoned like me atm then you can stream all the new series on InstaFlixxer. I've been watching with my brother lately xD
Thank you for your video. Another point to consider is that by lowering the head you free the shoulders and allow better recovery and therefore a faster stroke rate.
"the head titled forward enables stone to swim with greater propulsion". Why is that? I've noticed in underwater shots of Dressel and Chalmers that they both have a surprising amount of head tilt in the 100 free. Do you think that's a mistake or could it be worth it for strong swimmers in a sprint?
A great way to think about this is when you do pull-ups, you don't do it with you head down. The head is slightly tilted forward for a stronger position.
@F K well it does make sense. I guess Race club need to make a video on break out also. What I understood from you explanation was that tilting the head forward makes you go up faster rather than forward so there is an slight increase in velocity but this cannot be maintained. Hope you get to enjoy the pool soon man.
It doesn't, look at the lane lines. He's faster with the head down the entire time. The issue is that the camera person wasn't keeping up with the swimmer in the head forward position. It just looks like he's faster.
Thank you For watching!

What is the program you use to record strokes and velocity?
It is called a Velocity Meter and we use one produced by AP Labs in Italy
@@theraceclub thanks 🙏
Wait how does looking forward create greater propulsion? I understood about the drag part
Yeah they never even explained it
@F K by "surfacing force" are you referring to breakout

@@cooljam412 race club uses speedometers velocity meters or something like that
Can you recommend a drill or two for helping with head position?
We love sculling with a snorkel on with the head beneath the surface, followed by a swim with the head in the same position.
Another great drill is putting a paddle on your head while you swim.
