    Thanks for the great guidance. Always hated super glue as I normally ended up with parts glued to me or my tweezers.....this is so much better!

    Thanks for demonstrating the solder "chip method". My ususal method is to melt solder to the tip of the iron and touch it to already tinned surfaces to be joined. I'll have to give your method a shot! Thanks for posting!

    Thank you for the soldering tip. I always thought that paste was the only way to go for small parts, but that apparently oxidises quicker. Your solder chips method is worth exploring.

    I really appreciate how approachable, you make soldering PE. I’m such a creature of habit, that I’m still tackling it with CA. After finding your channel though, I decided it’s time to step up my game. Thanks!

    Thanks for the soldering tips. See it explained before, but now with a bit of experience, these made more sense - the tinning bit was a lightbulb 💡 moment.

    Love the Stuart because of its corners and box like shape that gives it all those nooks and crannies that make it an interesting paint job.

    Hi Rick, Glad to see you use solder for joining some of your PE. Have you heard of solder paint? It's pretty easy to get hold of here in the UK. The one I use is made by Carrs.
    Basically it's powdered solder in a paste like flux. You apply it with a small brush and then sweat them together.
    I used to build etched brass railway locomotive kits and used it on them. I am lucky that I also have a resistance soldering unit which if you use on a too higher setting is quite capable of blowing a hole in thin brass in true Star Wars fashion.
    Keep up the great work.
    Regards, Mark

      Hey Mark. Yes, I've come to realize that I'm in the dark ages in terms of the gear that I use. I cut my teeth on what I have, and just haven't ventured to the hardware store to view the new world!!! I think that it's about time that I do....! Thanks.

    Wonderful video, saved to my favorites. I haven't built a tank model since 1974, :o (yes, I'm that old) but I'd like to venture there again one day. I'll save my questions on your build till it's done.

      I'm that old, too!!! Glad you enjoyed the video, but please don't hesitate to ask questions at any time. Take care.

    Hi Rick, that was a very simple tutorial on soldering, it was explained in a very easy to understand way, I may even try a bit of soldering in the future, as I do have a MiniArt T-55 with full interior to build and I do believe it will have photo etch in the kit, thanks again for the great video, best regards from Australia, les

    Great job with the PE upgrades. Staring at a plastic part with the X-Acto in your hand before you start lopping off bits can be really intimidating (to me anyway).
    What did you use for the new light guards? I expected to see PE, but they’re white. Are they resin, or did you scratchbuild them from styrene?

    • @RickLawlerPropaganda
      @RickLawlerPropaganda  Рік тому +1

      I ended up replacing the PE guards with styrene. It was one of those times where I couldn't get the PE to cooperate, and just making new ones was much less frustrating.

    Good stuff as always. You know I see you do all that detail work and then cover it up with storage etc. I’ve never been able to do much with photo etch I’m not that good at it like you are. That means that if I did put it on there I don’t think I could cover it up! :-)

    • @RickLawlerPropaganda
      @RickLawlerPropaganda  2 роки тому +2

      Yea, it is tough sometimes to see all of that shinny stuff get covered.

      @@RickLawlerPropaganda Yeah but it’s also kind of cool to get photos of all that photo etched work you do as well before you cover it up.

    Rick: when you’re hanging PE fenders on larger German armor using resin brackets after shaving off the molded kit brackets, do you glue the resin brackets with bolts facing out and hang the fenders through the holes? Dumb question but there are no instructions and nothing I can find on the net. It’s holding up my whole build

    • @RickLawlerPropaganda
      @RickLawlerPropaganda  9 місяців тому

      Sorry, but I don't quite understand what you are asking regarding the bolts and brackets/fenders.

    Rick try soldering paste instead of old school wire. You will receive a way more cleaner results 😊
