Yeah, I totally agree on "The Day Of The Jackal" being a masterpiece of story telling. It's a great updated version of Fred Zinneman's brilliant original 1973 film adaptation of 1971 Frederick Forsyth's page turner. Eddie Redmayne even resembles Edward Fox right down to that brief shot where he's wearing the neckerchief under his shirt in episode 2. The last 3 eps were total bangers and I can't wait for Thursday's finale, Can't say as much for the 1997 (loosely based on the novel) popcorn flick directed by Michael Caton-Jones. Starring Bruce Willis, Richard Gere and the late, great Sidney Poitier it passes muster as a generic action film and despite the latter's participation, unfortunately, even he couldn't save it. "The Jackal" was a dud and for me, remains a one and done ever since I wasted two hours, five minutes enduring it in a theatre. It was JINO (Jackal In Name Only). Not recommended...
Agree with all this. The show is taking my breath away! I dont have a lot of time so rather than just multitask while it's on, I have to just wait until i can give it all my attention. *chef kiss So far!
@@filmgirlLisa Yesterday, "The Day Of The Jackal" garnered a Golden Globe nomination for Best Dramatic TV Series. It's also up against the Emmy Award winning "Shogun" for the same award.
"The Penguin" is a sequel series set right after the events of 'The Batman" movie. Colin Farrell's Penguin was introduced in that film as a member of the Falcone crime family and was pursued by Batman in that unforgettable, edge of your seat car chase scene.
