Revenant from Small Form Factor Network here: Great review. I like that you don't mask the challenges of SFF. A lot of people don't realize that it's not just plug and play with these cases, and that you have research the components that you have to put in them. For something like this, you would probably need to find a right angle adapter or a GPU with a recessed power plug.

Hello, thanks for sharing. I've been using.this case.for a few months now. Even installed a dual 240mm rad custom loop. The build quality is only acceptable. Now Im convinced that they had budet oriented builds in mind. Because you dont need any intake or exhaust fans to keep it cool, because of so much natural airflow. 😊

I use that cooler in my Thermaltake Core V1 because it's the only dual tower cooler with a 120mm fan that can fit in it. Cools my 5700G to a constant 60C with a full load. Granted, it's overkill for an 8-core AM4 APU, but the price-to-performance ratio on this cooler is insane.

I think this is one of the best cases they've ever made. This is aimed at the average consumer that wants a ssf case. No water cooling with massive rads just good ole reliable air cooling and decent specs. All most people need is an i5/i7 and 4060/3070 (around there) and they can play 90% of games with a decent 240hz monitor. That is what 90% of people go for.

The product was found over on their website over a year ago, so I can't for sure say that it was rushed. Considering it's missing the spine that is found on the meshlicious and meshroom veritical cases I can see it feeling less premium than those cases and it should be cheaper considering a riser card is not required. Still with its flaws I might check it out.

I wouldn't worry too much about chassis rigidity. I don't plan on dropping my pc. It's not really something I worry about and once it's all together it's rigid enough. I can see the motherboard flexing as a problem as some users could possibly make that mistake. They could place the case on it's side and tighten the motherboard down in a star pattern and it should help installation.

I'm so glad they did not just copy the NR200P! Because in my NR200P I have problems fitting 2x 280 Rads, in the Meshroom D it should work. My NR200P is absolutely crammed with a 280 on the side and a 140 at the bottom, with only millimeters of gap between GPU Waterblock and Slim Fan! I could just copy/paste my components into the Meshroom D and it would leave much more of a gap AND allow for a 280 in the bottom as well. It's the perfect evolution of the NR200P for everyone using full custom loop and dual Rads! ...at least in my humble and not to relevant opinion... 😉 I'm gonna get one!

I typically really enjoy your reviews, but not entirely sure what may have caused you to be a bit biased on this one. It could be related to the communication issues with their marketing team and not getting the proper adapters in your hands, which is understandable to a degree. But I think this case is very good for specific purposes, and as with any SFF build, it's about finding the case that best fits your specific hardware and needs. There's no "one shoe fits all" in the SFF world, and I think this model has taken some good parts out of the NR200P and getting it to a similar litter volume to the Terra. I do wish it was slightly wider to fit FE cards properly though, even though it's possible with aftermarket braided cables. I also ordered Corsair's new adapter bridge to try out and see if it sits better than a cable, fingers crossed!

@@jamesmcmahonii8433 There have been a few for sure. I have a 4080 FE in my NR200 and it fits perfectly. Just seems like these high profile case manufacturers like SSUPD and Corsair putting out new ITX cases and limiting the GPU fitment is a step backwards when the difference is only a few centimeters.

My only issue with SSDUPD is the limited availability of the Meshroom S and Meshilicious. I can ONLY find the D rn. Between that and the sloppy execution critiqued here, I'm wondering if the company is in dire straits. 🤦🏿‍♂️

Disappointing about the build quality. It does look like a much more compact case compared to the NR200.
My guess is $199AUD! even at $170 it would be hard to choose is over the the NR200 for $109AUD. I do like it but if I were to change cases from the NR200 I would choose the Meshroom S over this. You can't compete with the NR200, unless you make a cheaper one.

I still think it is a NR200P alternative. Although it is more expensive, it is also much smaller than the NR200P and perfect for air cooling(for it's size).

  • @boonie3
    @boonie3 10 місяців тому +1

With the NR200 already dominating the mainstream ITX chassis market, they should have gone with the extender bracket included by default and marketed this as an mATX case. The AP201 is selling like hotcakes and there is definitely a growing market for compact mATX cases.

This is very similar in size and layout to the Dan C4-SFX. About 90% of the builds I have seen in the C4 are all using 4080/4090 FE, the fact that you can't fit the 4080/4090 FE in this case is going to be a huge mistake I think. Well the FE does technically fit but you can't plug in a power connector and have the side panel on. Shame that their quality is being sacrificed for price.

I use a Hyte Revolt 3 and love the tower form factor for space saving. This thing looks like an NR200 with more holes. About as exciting as a glass of room temp water lol

Good review, I wonder if the rest will be honest. I really liked my Meshlicious but I went to an NR200P air cooled when my (month old) AIO spun a bearing and I'm way happier. I love how this case looks, if I was reshelling I'd consider it but it looks like my GPU won't fit haha.
I agree that some of the design decisions seem odd. This feels like it's for people who want to air cool, otherwise you'd go one of their sandwich layout cases, right? So that PSU extender placement, why is it there? It's a routing nightmare in the making, it looks like they've comprimised that for the external watercooling bits provision which only 1% of users will use. Same goes for the ATX PSU support which i don't really understand; make compromises for an ATX PSU which no one will use, when a PSU is the cheapest component in your build - just make it SFX only and you can buy one that fits?! The CPU cooler height is too short, it pretty much restricts you to a D12L, it was hard enough getting a large air cooler in an NR200 at ~155mm clearance - I'm running a Thermaltake PA120 SE with the glass panel on mine which is bang on 155mm. The bottom fans should be on the top and used to exhaust, let the GPU fans go up against the bottom mesh and pull in clean air themselves. It would have been nice to see a front fan but with that mesh you could mod one in pretty easily, I think that'd be worth doing. Maybe a custom blowhole fan if you're lucky too.
I saw on their site they have that add-on which adds more front IO and a power button - that looks almost essential to get some extra clearance down the bottom for GPU/full sized fans - is this what adds the mATX compatibility? The window panel is definitely worth IMO.
Perhaps a lot of of these compromises in dimension were for panel compatability between the Meshroom S and D? Probably saves them a bunch on manufacturering.

Thanks for the video! Well, it seems you are absolutly right: If you do a NR200-"clone", you have to do it better. I am not a great fan of the NR200, but it is very good for its price. I thing SSUPD could have made a very much better way to the design ideas. Maybe they will explain why they did it that way...

I feel like this Ncase design is really at the end of its life here, the gpu sitting this close to the desk is not really a good idea for these big and powerful card we have these days, the C4sfx with the reverse setup that puts the gpu on the top it’s the way to go in the future.

They rushed it to get it out before W360 released the Free Flow and Ncase M1 Evo goes on sale. Nick pretty much stated what I was already thinking and that is the build quality of a Streacom x Ncase "Meshlicious" would be much better than Lian Li/SSUPD.
The Free Flow also looks to have better compatibility with modern hardware while still offering multiple layout option and both vertical or horizontal case orientations. Yup.... Im holding off for the Free Flow. And honestly I'm all for supporting W360, as he's the original designer for the Meshi.
