  • This is a Kink Ryu - stream, lineage, school - shakuhachi made around the 1950's. Jinashi natural bore flutes are general more "organic" sounding in that the tone is not a even balance as contemporary tuned bore JIARI flutes. Jinashi flutes typically have softer and warmer tone. This one is well intone to D at a=440hz. The third hole Chi is traditionally slightly sharp in the traditional Japanese system of scale interval tuning. I am playing as neurally as possible, without milking the sound, to offer the clearest idea of the tuning, how this flute sounds. and how it behaves. A flute in your hands in a room will be very different from what you see and hear on our computer. Please feel free to ask any questions whatsoever.
