Im actually in the process of doing just this. I've plug ins I dont even know what they do. I'm using a dummy project to just these plug ins and see what they do. Whatever is useless goes. Nice vid bro.
That's awesome! Yeah, there were a few that I had no idea what they were 😅 Probably automatically added to a bundle over the years. Thanks for watching, appreciate the comment, and have fun cleaning out your plugin list!
Yeah, it’s kind of annoying when those duplicate plug-ins show up. Glad the video was able to help you out! Thanks for watching and appreciate the comment 👍
I can also vouch for Greg's mixing and mastering. I recorded two full-length albums with him last year and the mixes and masters came out better than other professional studios I've used
I find it ironic that you're advocating deleting/hiding plugins instead of organising them into plugin folders through the drag and drop browser in S1. Particularly as you use S1 and it's so simple to do. I have about 600 plugins arranged into lots of different folders and flavours. I'll often know how I want to process a signal and then choose from the one of all the different flavours of that process in the folder. I couldn't be happier and my mixing is better because I'm continually grabbing plugs that I might have forgotten about, but when it comes to the choice, they are there in the folder and I can see them and so they get used.
You're right that Studio One has great options for arranging and organizing plugins which allows you to set it up for your preferred workflow. I do also set up favorites, mix templates, and FX chains for streamlined work as well. As far as number of plugins, for me personally, I find that i don't need a lot of plugins to record and mix my songs. I prefer to have a few go-to plugins that I know really well and get me where I want to go. Tinkering with plugins isn't where the fun is for me. Of course I'll try out other plugins from time-to-time to see if there's something I like better, but I like keeping my list pretty short. I find that's a better workflow for me. Thanks for watching and appreciate you sharing how you organize your plugins!
Probably a good idea to go ahead and watch all of my videos. They may not let me stay on here much longer...🤣 Thanks for watching and I really appreciate your comment! 👍

Good stuff! I never would have thought about this. Thanks for showing how we can be more effective
Thanks Justin! 👍
@@DadRockAndGuitars It also gave me the idea to go through my Final Cut Pro plug ins and other areas to clean them up.
Thanks for showing how to hide duplicate plugins in Studio One. I could also remove all of the AU from my list.

I have all the really well used plugins on macros so I can add them with a touch of a button.

I’m all about getting rid of stuff I don’t use. I can’t imagine needing 600 of anything. 😂
$600? 👀
@@10ZOBEATS I could reconsider...LOL....but that wouldn't even cover groceries for a month.
small is beautiful.
Wow, production advise on UA-cam that is actually good advise. Are you sure it is not against social media rules to do that?
