Wohoo! Laura and Paul are awesome! Thanks very much to the whole team for all of the hard work that went in to v10. This is one of the reasons why SD is always on the top of my list when recommending anything recording or wireless.

The only downside for me right now is that my 1 month old 888 had to go in for a repair as channel 8 stopped passing audio when the machine got hot.

Thank you guys for pushing 32bit. I am quiet surprised about all the doubt from a lot of production sound mixers regarding this topic. It's great to hear you guys understand what it' all about. And im here to say it now, that with 32bit capable transmitters and 32bit recorders rising in popularity, lots of workflows will change in recent years in favour of switching to 32bit from 24bit. Any dialogue editor would prefer 32bit recorded films if there is adequate workflow for it.

I have a pair of MixPre IIs as well as an 888 and love 32-bit for its convenience, but I would remark that most _mics_ can’t exploit the full dynamic range of an 888 in 24-bit mode. If you trim the mic’s maximum usable level to, say, -6 dB, then you’ll find that the mic’s noise floor is still above the 888’s floor, and you can “run and gun” without worrying further about trim. I can think of several large-diaphragm mics for which this isn’t true, but those are the exception IME. It can also be true if you’re willing to push the mic well into its high-distortion regime, as you might with the hypothetical jet engine (after all, nobody will be able to tell).

Is "High Dynamic Range Analog-to-Digital Conversion with Selective Regression Based Data Repair" (US20160241252A1) the patent you reference in re: 32-bit?
I've worked quite a bit in digital imaging, and the "selective regression" approach you took to reconcile/cross-calibrate the different ADC stages is basically what I expected FWIW. From my own experience I'm sure that there's a lot of secret sauce in there to make it work well. As you say it's a tricky problem.

    Hey Sound Devices Team.
    I work with a Scorpio, Nexus, A20 Mini's and A20 TX.
    All units need an update.
Unfortunately I can't find anything on the net that tells me exactly how to do the updates.
A video about it would be great.
    best regards Lucas Lutz Erler

      Hello dear Sound Devices team!
I have found out how to update the A20 Mini. I was just surprised that the update started when I disconnected the Transmitter from the USB connection. The battery wasn't really full anymore and I was afraid the Transmitter would go out in the update.
      Which usually ends in disaster.
But everything went well. I was prepared for the others.
Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to find out how to update the A20.
      Via the microSD slot?
I will get in touch with your support team.
      Thanks for the quick reply.
      Best regards from Germany
      Lucas Lutz Erler
