You are the definition of inspirational dude! Could not have picked worse conditions - pouring rain, starting in the pitch black... and managed to get it done in 6hr 34! You're amazing bro!
Awesome running Sota, when it rains I wear a cap helps not get so much rain on the glasses, keep up the good work, amazing scenery and this video cool, ✅😀🌲🏃🏽♂️🌴👍
Solid run thanks so much for uploading. I think i've done every bit of the route but never in my wildest imagination could I attempt it in one go. Great footage and really cool to see it from your perspective. In a way the rain helped you avoid some pretty serious crowds especially near Shelley Beach. Could've watched the whole 7 hours if i'm honest. Subscribed
That's true, I was thinking that, the rain must've kept a few people away! I think the production quality of my vids will only get better moving forward, and hopefully we'll have some more epic camera angles and shots! But this was nice as well, it was authentic, raw and in the action
Hey Sota-san! Love the content. Randomly stumbled across your UA-cam channel after it popped up on my home page recommendations. I'm the guy that bought the couple of Japanese baseball hats from you - didn't know what an epic runner you were! Have just subscribed and looking forward to your future videos!
Because I had very little time to get into this shape because of a prior injury (which was the same thing on the other leg), I had to do some aggressive training (quick build up, lot's of threshold and elevation to get to this stage, and doing this 80k was the icing on the cake to flare up the injury properly Next time I'd be more conservative with the training. And also, I think I just need a couple more years of improving in the 5 and 10k in order to become a good ultramarathoner
lucky I found this chanel and subscribe straigh away. You are legend bro. Btw how do you find the rute so well without wrong direction or trap on a wrong way on dark early morning run
Hey Andrew, thanks so much for subscribing! I've run this route so many times in training (parts of it) to get familiar with it, and also there's an app called Gaia GPS that you can get on your phone and import a gpx file to make sure you're going the right way This was a run that I had to practice a lot in training to make sure I knew where to go on the day of this actual run
@@SotaMaehara wow..is great. Thank you for replying to my question, and I will follow your advice for my training next Sydney marathon 2025. This kind of helps me to find a route without going to the wrong direction

What counts as a raw dog? Do you have to be solo? I never listen to music so if that's the only factor, I've rawdogged all my runs, and my longest run is 137km

In ideal world, what would you have done to prevent the injury?
