This video was wild. I only knew a bit of stuff about the Bionicle lore and I never really got too deep into it because there was always just so much. You managed to break it down and cover a whole other IP at the same time in a digestible manner. Great video! -Jesse
Legend of the Dragoon also has elementally themed heroes fighting gods of destruction and stuff like that. One very essential part of both stories differ extremely, at least in my perception. Maybe there is some subtext that I don't see. But the concept of destiny seems to be the exact opposite in the two stories. In Bionicle destiny is inescapable and the only way to deal with it properly is acctepting it, as Matoro did in his sacrifice. Even Teridax, who thinks he outsmarted the system, just gets a step closer to achieving his destiny by taking over the GSR. Destiny, at least in the main universe, does not fail. And it will benefit the heroes in the long run. When all prophecies are fulfilled, peace has arrived. In Xenoblade everything is about acting out against what is predestined, chosing a way that's not predetermined by higher forces. The future is weaponized against the heroes by Zanza. The passage of fate leads to destruction and recreation.
I really wish Nintendo would sell Monolith soft. Like I love the Xeno games but hate Nintendo with a passion rn and am boycotting them. Its just amazing what Monolith can do with Xenoblade creating some of the best games of all time on Nintendos shit hardware
