- A look at the upcoming 0.9.5 patch. Featuring the building of Odin as well as the new crisper UI. I don't agree with all the balancing changes, but the art department has once again knocked it out of the park!

I desperately hope WG have learned from the PR fiasco and wont change the directives they published earlier, as the art department has once put their hearts into it. I doubt they would, as the community out-cry would be legendary.

I agree Flamu, the art department always does an amazing work, the balance department however is the one that literally kills ships, sadly. I know Odin isn't really recommended due to the needed HP, but I have to say it, there is still a part of me that wants it so badly.

It is the game itself that has become toxic: RU BBs, CVs, unbalance, RNG, team making, etc.
No longer as great as it used to be up to a couple of years ago... No longer worth putting time and money into it.
The Art Department is phenomenal, the rest is now less than mediocre.

Anyone else noticed the Graf Spee also in the Dock on the starboard side of the Odin? Its there before you optain it and afterwards its gone. pretty nice

As a dev that worked (well, still working, actually) on the new Combat Mission UI, I'm glad that you liked it : )
It's not so simple for some other players, though... We're processing all the feedback right now.

this ui is utterly garbage. scrolling for 5 minutes to see all the missions because they need to be SOOO BIG that they take half your screen while looking like a stupid mobile phone game? sry but no. if thats what you did... how the hell did you even got your job? serious question. Thats what people spend a fortune for a single ship on? a cheap mobile phone ui? is that like .. an aprils fools joke?

WG basing their staff team off matchmaking, the art department is the one good person in your team and the rest of the WG staff is the potatoes on your team. It just so happens that the WG balance team is making worse and worse decisions, just like how potatoes on your team are getting worse and worse.

Man, like during the PR event, the Dockyard thing is REALLY sick. At least now the directives are hella grindy BUT humanly possible to achieve. Can't wait!

I thought those drilling noises were the most mightiest farts at first.
The rewards, like the 100k coal, is great. Puerto Rico was like that too. People complained about the PR, and I never had a hope of getting it, but I made out like a bandit with the extra goodies.
The final 100k coal reward won't exist on live server though, it's just a pts placeholder for the Odin at stage 20

AFAIK WG said if you already have a Spee you will get it's credits value instead of doubloons. Sad, because then most of us will be able to get Odin for absolutely free and i think WG doesn't want that

The only dampener on this is the fact you DON'T get doubloons for Graf Spee, only credits. Since most players already have Graf Spee (WG has given plenty of opportunities to get it for free!), if you are not willing to spend any doubloons, then there isn't anything really for you. Even the rewards along the way seem like a downgrade over the PR. PR gave you a bunch of coal, steel and premium camos. This one you get a few special signals, but not a lot else. Do we know what is in those containers along the way?
That would sort of defeat the purpose of having a doubloons price for the last two phases.
Also there was 110,000 coal between phase 19 and 20

Why though? the directives aren't difficult to do.
On the PTS it does seem that there is a discount, and the actual price is 14k
@@thomasparal2724 No, 14k is the regular price when not getting the pack and getting the 8 phases separately for dubloons, because every phase is 1750 dubloons. 8k is of or the package. That kind of thing makes sense because you will have to pay for 2 phases anyway which would amount to 3500. And you could get 1500 steel if you do all directives.
Carson to get the steel. He could get 2000 of them, with 8 stages done.
@@gusp6612 I don't know how you get to 2000. 20- 8 is 12 stages remaining. 18 directives -12 is 6. 6*250 is 1500 steel.
Keep in mind that Wargamming already stated in the twitch feed that you can NOT obtain the Odin unless you spend the dabloons. There is no free way at all to earn this ship.
And it said exactly that in this Video when he opened the Dockyard for the first time. Only the first 18 phases can be completed with directives. I'm completely fine with that. What I'm not okay with is having to buy random chests that give varying amounts of some Ressource I then have to spend. That way you don't know how much you will have to pay from the beginning. Now I know that if I want the Odin I will have to pay at least 3500 Dubloons. It's transparent and fair behaviour.
actually you can get it for "free" if you so happen to have won doubloons over the course of the game by completing mission , having supercontainer dropping doubloons .
I know that with all the doubloons I have and with the final reward for this ranked season been 2500 doubloons, if they keep the price for the 2 last mission , i can get it for the doubloons I have farmed for ~1 year, so not money cost, but time cost.
So you may argue about not having the odin for "free", this time at least you can get it realistically by been good and constant in playing WOWS for a long period of time.
nobody ever claimed that you would get the Odin for "free". It has been said that you can get the Graf Spee for free, which is already a great gift. (I got mine last year for what... 25€ or so. These 7 million credits in compensation that you get if you already own a graf spee however is really disappointing. 7k Dubloons would have been better)
again, neither Wargaming nor anyone else ever claimed that you could get that ship for free, if anyone told you that, they were misinformed or straight up lied to you.
From the moment they gave the first overview, WG clearly stated that the completion of the last 2 stages would cost dubloons so I really don't understand the purpose of your comment here.

Flamu I think once you complete the Odin the directives that award a phase completion award steel instead. I dont think all directives award a phase. Can you count how many?

What happens if you already have graf spee
You get just over 7 million credits. It's in this video, Flamu doesn't mention it, but you see the notification on the bottom right when the ship lands in port.

The dockyard looks as good as ever, but I'm more happy that the Missions/Arsenal UI looks more responsive. I hated how sluggish they were before.

@@gusp6612 Well lucky you then. I've played the game for 4 years, and all I've ever gotten was 1000 doubloons from a supercontainer. And no, buying doubloons is not an option, because the cheapest ones where i can get ships are around $30-$50, which is more than enough to buy a month's worth of food. And I'm not starving myself to death for some virtual ship. I'm just a poor guy, and I was hoping this would finally be better than Puerto Rico, but I guess I was wrong.

So if you buy the start pack plus 12 stages up front and then complete all the directives, you get 4500 steel for 29000 doubloon
I worked out the 2 ships are worth around 21,000 gold on their own based on current prices for ships at their tier. So effectively you can spend 8000 gold plus some time playing the game to get 4500 steel. Could be value for money depending on the size of your wallet.
@@lunsmann Now that I think about that, compared to the situation where you complete all directive and buy the last two stages, you spend 24500 more gold and spend the same time, and get the same ship and rewards plus 4500 steel, so it should technically be 24500 gold for 4500 steel.
You still need to spend the 3500 gold to secure Odin if you grind it out.

I like how smooth the new UI works. They really went ahead and got rid of a lot of this annoying clunkyness we have on the live server. People have been complaining about this forever. Better late than never, I guess.
How about the part where we lose our tier ten cruiser and have to regrind our tier 10 and lose real money on the cammo we bought?
Are you saying that you lose the camo which you paid for with doubloons once you commit to the regrind?
Works the same way as if you scraped the ship the camo goes into "storage" until you have the same ship.

It's a shame that the Dockyard came in so late. I think it would have been a really cool mechanic for progressing down the general tech tree.

Here's a big question: why even play on the live server? Sure the PTS gets reset after each trial, but you can instantly access the cool ships without any grind. If anything, the reset means you get to approach each PTS trial with a fresh experience; try new things you'd never do one the live server because that has actual ramifications.
You would only be able to play for 5 days a month if you only played on PTS.
