Hey Scotty! I've got a 1998 Daihatsu Terios with less than 100k miles on it. Now and then it dies on the road, I crank it, it runs and the dies again, until after some time running normally again. Any ideas? Thanks!
I have never read of a Mitsubishi Mirage owner who hates their car, only critics and ignorant people who have taken it around the block and expect it to feel as good as a more premium priced car. Idiots.
If they only put the car in it's proper context and frame and match it's specs with their needs , they will get the best of it. But if they buy it and expect it to be a sports or luxerious car then they are wasting everybody's time.
Kaddahy Mohamed from all reports, their engines run like a Swiss watch and if driven sensibly without abusing it and serviced properly, I can't see any reason they wouldn't last well beyond Scotty's figure, especially the manual. I have heard of older Daihatsu 3 cylinders achieving gigantic mileage I the one engine.
These cars are already gaining cult status because they refuse to follow the crowd. Instead of throwing unwanted gadgets at them and charging through the nose, they stick with what buyers actually need and want and U.S sales are reflecting that. The fact they are popular in the third world is a testament to how trouble free they are, not something to sneer at.
Davidal G don't crash and reliability doesn't lie. They are safer than small cars used to be and plenty of people drove micro cars in the past. They don't want more things going wrong with endless computer aids. They certainly don't want gadgets like Mazda's Skyactive technology.
I bought a used 1999 Mitsubishi mirage in 2001 with 25,000 miles on it. It's still going strong at 170,000 miles. It's the best car I have ever owned and my grandson is driving it now.
That generation of Mirage was much better than the current one. Barrio, an car will last half a million miles of they're almost all highway. The only reasons to buy one now are price and for teenage girls they come in bright pink and purple, otherwise the Sonic (only with standard transmission) and Fiesta are both much better. The Yaris and Fit are probably good too, but I personally don't care for them. Keep in mind none of the as are e expensive cars, so there aren't many people that can afford a new Mirage, but not a new Sonic.
I disagree. Fit is a $16500 base car. That trim is the base LX. A Mirage at $10,000 is more affordable by far and much better mpg, warranty. Sonic is a GM product, which is not a good long term option. Plus it still cost like 15 grand.
Yes, i'm one of those owner. Yes, the car doesn't have a lot of power, you still need to floor it when passing or mergin in the freeway, but you know what? I put 210k miles on my in only 5 years and it still running without problems.
Kiki- im thinking about getting one myself. brand new the base version is around $11600 CAN here and with gas here about $1.25 CAN / litre it seems to make sense to me to have something small and efficient. Do you guys have winter there? If so how is it then?
@@amandahuginkiss4098 well the last snow in San Francisco was I think in 2011 or so, so i didn't own the Mirage yet. But on cold days the car starts very easily. But it takes a little bit for the heater to completly blast hot air. But is a very light weight car so I don't think that traction could be a problem on those cars.
Too true. I had a 2014 Mirage. It wasn't a perfect car, but for the 4yrs and 56k miles I had it, it was a great economy car. Cheap to run! That's what it's designed to do. It was slow and noisy, but it was the perfect car for puttering around on city streets where traffic is usually not doing more than 35-45mph max. Take her out on the highway and you wish you had something quieter and more powerful though. For $10k-$12k, it's a great value. A comfortable, dependable brand-new car with a 10y/100k mile warranty for that kind of money is excellent. I miss mine. Toying with the idea of getting another one, but I'd like something that's a better travel/interstate car.
Hey Scotty, Mitsubishi put a timing chain in their entry level sub compact Mirage. What other manufacturer would do if not to establish reliability reputation for the Mirage? Its an impressive move by Mitsu, they want these cars to last so they can resurrect their reputation for durability. As they had in the 90s.
Great car. I have a 2017 with a manual transmission and use it for ride share. Average 40-46 mpg using this daily hard miles. 40k miles and not a single issue yet.
If it's a brand new car for 10k with a good warranty, who cares if it is cheaply built? You don't get much of what you want, but you get everything you *need*. That's the key.
Viktor with a K no. No car guy wants a car like this. You can have a much much nicer car for 10k I'd rather have a used nice car either 60-70k miles then that POS.
The Mitsu wasn't built for car enthusiasts and you can't compare it to a CPO car. It was built for someone who wants a car with a damn good warranty, one that has pretty much no miles, and will last quite a long time, and for someone who just wants to get from point A to point B.
charlesplane yes. But he said the only people that don't like it is teenagers. The cars built for someone who wants to finance a dirt cheap car and have 0 issues. No car enthusiast would ever buy that POS
I'd imagine the Mirage is a good car for seniors, and maybe for parents that want to put their teenager in a reliable car with modern safety features and no maintenance "surprises." I can also see it being used as an enthusiast's second car. You keep your nice shiny toy in the garage during the week, and drive the shitbox Mirage to work everyday where the sun will slowly destroy it and other cars will bump into it.
My work has a fleet of 6 automatic transmission mirages for delivery drivers, we beat the hell out of these cars for 8 hours a day everyday, sometimes in minus 30 degree weather. cheap as hell on gas and all are over 200,000km and going strong with regular maintenance. I'd reccomend one.
I have a 2015 Mirage. Not one defect, not even a light bulb, no sign of wear anywhere. It does what I ask easily. 52 mpg average over 50.000 miles. With CVT and automatic 2 speed for high/low gear that makes the CVT a dream to drive (less rubberband effect). Not for petrolheads, but for rational people.
I own a Mirage 2014, it is amazing for the price. I have no problems at all and it's great fuel efficient. Of course, it's confort could be improved, but it goes great on the basics for the price: reliable and fuel efficient.
One time on Craiglsit a guy was selling one of the older models and he literally put the ad as "Mitsubushi Rage"... and sure enough in the picture the m and i and had fell off and still had the outline from the glue lmao
On Android check out Here WeGo navigation, it works offline too, if You download the map. You can use it to plan different routes not just on highways like on Google maps offline.
That reminds me... Years ago my brother in law had a Dodge Dynasty. Well... the first two letters went missing... so he told everyone that he "drove a nasty".
The Mirage is a car that is mostly directed for people that look for economy is not a show off vehicle is great day to day car and if you want to use it to work as a delivery driver it works like a charm since you dont spend that much daily on gas
This is a great car, I uber mine, and have 140K miles with not one mechanical issue. I changed the front break pads at 120k, serpentine belt, plugs, coolant flush and manual gear box oil change. Other than regular maintenance, this car is bullet proof. The only knock on this car would be the crappy exhaust system. The hangers wear out quick and you get a rattle at idle and the baffle is broken and makes noise around 3k rpm witch is annoying. Other than this, I've been pleased with this vehicle.
I recommend using a rubber absorbent spray such as silicone spray to treat the rubber components like those hangers in order to prevent them dry rotting and disintegrating. Honestly using these treatments for all the rubber components will make the vehicle longer lasting because it's not falling apart in regards to all the rubber components like vacuum lines etcetera.
Regardless of what the critics say, the mirage is known for its longevity and high mpg. It has four tires like every car. No need to impress the Jones.
Half of me watching him is just being fascinated about how he knows so much about this stuff. I don’t know if he researches each case ahead of time but if he’s doing this freestyle, that’s freaking amazing.
I had a 1999 mitsubishi pajero 3.5 v6 in Australia with over 400,000 kms on the clock. The engine was just starting to burn oil, but it still drove sweet. All electrics, low range gears, everything else worked fine. My dad also had a mitsubishi 1.6 sedan for 11 years, no issues at all other than general maintenance... I think you Americans don't rate them highly enough, maybe the auto transmission is not as good but I would never buy an auto anyway. I'd buy a mitsubishi ahead of a Toyota or Honda from my own experiences.
Bought a used '14 mirage over a year ago. So far zero mechanical issues (manual transmission) and the fuel economy is very good. Keep in mind, it's easy to get 40-50mpg with air conditioning turned off, but if you turn it on, you'll get closer to 35 with normal driving. Still pretty much the best it gets before going hybrid and you'd never make up the difference in cost by fuel savings.
I routinely averaged 39-41mpg in my 2014 Mirage with AC on pretty much all the time here in Florida doing suburban driving. That was with slightly fatter aftermarket tires and an out of camber rear wheel.
@@palebeachbum the rear alignment issue is a major defect that affects my car too. There is no adjustment and mitsu + dealers are ignoring it for the most part. That said, new buyers can just get their car checked within the first year by an independent shop when it's under adjustments warranty and then have the work done if needed. The cvt has a major advantage in economy due to it's 1:7 overall ratio spread with the low range gear. Commuting 20 or so miles to work every day, i get mine up to 75 or 80 every day and that's 3750-4000rpm in 5th gear. Any semblance of economy goes away after about 60mph (3000rpm) and that's just too slow to be safe in my city's traffic.
The 195 tires I'm running on gsr 15x6 rims probably don't help either, but I keep them around 40lb so that helps to keep the rolling resistance modest.
I had a little black Mirage. One of the best cars I ever owned. Only reason it’s gone is hail damage... Otherwise it’s a really good reliable hatchback.
Neil Parmar Back in the 1990s and early 2000s defiantly. Good commuter cars. My mom had a black one from the last generation before they discontinued it and was replaced by the new crappy one. Great car. Lasted around 200,000 miles, no issues despite not even taking care or doing good maintainance. Until she sold it and bought a 2000 Ford Explorer which has also came out good so far.
Back in 2010, Hyundai offered a bare bones Accent with an MSRP of under $10k. The model was called the Blue. It had a manual transmission with no radio and no a/c. There weren't many of these models actually available. I assume it was a ploy to get people into Hyundai dealerships where they could be talked into a pricier model (there were ads for it online). Well I wanted the Blue model, so I had one ordered in from a couple of states away. I drove it off the lot for $11k after taxes and fees. I installed a headunit, Polk Audio speakers and a subwoofer to turn it into a very fun car. 8 years later, I have 104k miles so far with no problems except the power steering, which I solved by chopping off the belt. A car that small doesn't need power steering, it's still easy to drive without it. Minimalist motoring at it's finest! The Mitsubishi Mirage is a compelling car. It would be at the top of my list if I was in need of a new car right now.
I like mine I was used to driving a awd Ford explorer V8 I liked it but its just too expensive to drive as much as I do for my job is all..Yes the Mirage fills the bill perfectly..Its great for what it is cheap and reliable and easy to maintain
I have a 2018 Mirage. I bought it at 30,000ish miles. So far it has 48,000 miles on it. I just recently got a CVT service on it, and the technicians said the fluid was very black. You really should think about a transmission service at every 30,000 miles. Its not a quick car, and that's okay. Super efficient for short commutes to work. The audio system isn't awful either. So far I'm loving it. I will be very happy if it reaches 200,000 miles, but only time will tell.
I never believed in any car other than Toyotas but I have a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport with over 213,000 miles never had a single problem ever I hate the lag in the CVT when accelerating but I must say the best car I ever owned. reliability just does not depend on the car manufacturer but the owner as well keep that in mind. engine 2.0 mivec
That is the secret, manteinace! A car can last longer with proper manteinance! I put 210k miles on my 2013 Mirage/CVT and you know what? It hasn't break appart!
My 2015 Mirage has been Awesome👍 Lol 44mpg. Amazing little 1.2L, 3cyl cvt. 184,000 kms and runs like a top. Just regular oil changes and maintenance. It's no speed demon but makes up for it in ever other way
I routinely get 46 MPG highway in my 2021. They made a lot of small improvements in the 2017+ models that make a difference. The engine went from 74 hp to 78 hp and the manual's gearing changed so it revs somewhat lower in top gear.
I know you have Mitsubishi in North America and boy they must have a bad reputation because around the world the Asian and Japanese built Mitsubishi's are among the most reliable cars on the road. My self, I've owned 26 Mitsubishi cars and some have covered over 400,000km without an issue. Great great cars.
Mitsubishi eclipse, wife has a 2003 with 260,000 miles everything works and no leaks and doesn't use a drop of oil, 2.4 . Only repair was a cracked plastic radiator, $70 on ebay and the cam Sensor $54 Autozone . All the door handles, electric windows everything has worked from day one .
If you buy a new Mitsubishi Mirage and change the oil every 3,000 miles and don't mind shifting a manual transmission, you will have a reliable car for many years. If you buy the same car and club the crap out of it and dont change the oil and filters regularly, don't expect this little car to last.
I bought a 2018 with manual trans for $11k out the door. It's not bad for cheap. It gets terrible reviews but it gets be from point A to B and it is faster than the automatic.
Agree with most of what you say, Scotty.....but I had a Mitsubishi Eclipse ( actually a clone, Eagle Talon) that went well over 220,000 miles from new and never had a lick of trouble.....every bit as good as my Toyota's.
Scotty, you pretend that you know everything about cars even you don’t even own one Mitsubishi. Who told you that Mitsubishi can’t last 100k miles , THAT’s A BIG LIE. Since I was a child, I love Mitsubishi! Real car owners speaks the truth. It’s NOT by the brand, IT’s HOW YOU TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR CAR. Im a mechanic too. I’ve got a 1996 Mitsubishi L200 ( 4d56 engine ). Still running in VERY GOOD condition and very well taking good care of me. I also have a 2011 Mitsubishi ASX 1.8 diesel 4x4 , same thing NO HEADACHE AT ALL & a VERY RELIABLE CAR. Mitsubishi is underrated because of plastic interiors BUT THAT PLASTIC IS A HIGH QUALITY PLASTICS HIGHLY APPROVED BY QUALITY CONTROL . Japanese technology is BRILLIANT.
Mirage is an excellent Town car ... Affordable, reliable & excellent MPG rate (average of43 MPG)... Not designed to travel between towns and for long distance...Not designed as a sports car as it's 0 -60 is around 16 sec. and there is a body roll at curves ....use it as a Town car to get the maximum from it by doing the regular affordable mantinance and it will run for 150 k Miles with ease .... I use it in town to go to work and to go to school for my little boy & I have another SUV for my family to travel during summer ...
I realize that it's a totally different car than the new Mirage, but I own a 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage that I've owned since 1999. It has 226,000 miles on it and runs like a Swiss watch. The paint is all faded but it runs great. My brother has a 1996 Civic with about the same miles and I think my Mirage runs better.
Both my 2015 and 2016 civics get over 40mpg highway easily....and they offer ALOT more power and features! Given how small and gutless the Mirage is, it should get 60mpg!
I got a new Mirage for $11,820 and $13.1K OTD. A new Corolla would be more than $22K OTD and a late-model used one is about the same price. I biy a car for driving and the Mirage has great reviewers by those who drive them.
Scotty, got to disagree with you on this one. Owned a 2005 Galant. Sold it to my mom when it had 120000. That was 6 years ago. It now has over 200000 mi. On it and is still running good. Doesnt smoke runs strong. Dooesnt burn oil and recently passed smog. It doesnt run like it did when it was new but everyone has got their money out of it. Good car would highly recommend.
I really did own a silver 94 celica, and it had a manual transmission. I got mid 30's fuel economy and the car never let me down. Sold with 275,000+ miles and it ran great. Wish I still had it, fun to drive. Not the cars fault but the older I got the less I liked climbing in and out of it (too low)
I have a 2015 Mirage (bought new) as a backup/spare car. I looked at several used cars but mostly all had some type of body damage, problems, rust and a crazy amount of miles. For the warranty., I said... Why not? The factory suspension and wheel/tire combo are terrible IMO. But whatever, for me it's a point A to point B car that gets good gas mileage.
@@palebeachbum I dont understand this. Ive been Ubering hard miles on fast highways in a traffic plagued city. My 2014 handles pretty good. I personally love the soft suspension, makes the ride cushy as hell.
@@kylemas2005 precise, yes. There is no play in the wheel. Responsive, no. It's like they took steering off a truck and put in the Mirage. It's extremely vague for a modern car. Drive just about any other modern economy car and you'll see what I mean.
See, I’m actually considering a Mitsu just so I’m not on a single car in “the stable” as of reading all these comments about how decent these cars are. And I could care less how the ride is; if I could drive a 350 Honda bike as a kid I think I can live with anything that’s on 4 actual wheels 🤣
The pictures you edit into these videos kill me. "I use google maps whenever i go anywhere", and in the corner pops up a picture of the bathroom. These videos are friggin hilarious
Thanks Scotty !! My 98’ Accord transmission has been slipping for over 2-Years I just drive it slow and go 👍🏻 especially when it has over 267,000 Miles on it . Stills runs Great though !!!
There was one Mirage that surpassed one million miles with only maintenance and wheel bearings being the only work done on the car... documented Record for the model. Th color of it is Pink
These mirage cars are just as reliable as a Toyota or Honda. The local courier services would not have 2014 mirages with 300,000 miles on them with just normal maintenance like tires, brakes and oil changes.
The israeli military uses mirages as a fleet to move people between bases. They are cheap and hold easily 100k miles while being abused and not maintained properly. They also have great gas milage. Just a point A to B car.
I see a lot of complaints that the Mirage has 78 HP , back in the day I found myself with a 1980 Mercury Zephyr I got it used and it was my work car of course it had a much more formidable engine than the lowly Mirage , it had twice as many cylinders and over three times the displacement [ 3.3 liter ] it made 88 HP. Think the Mirage is a slug ? Try this. O and the standard Zephyr 4 CYL [ 2.3 liter ] made 72 HP . Compared to that time period you guys got it good.
@@MrR2185 A/C is optional on Canadian models. Puts the car under 2000 lbs! And saves another couple thousand dollars. Only gets hot enough that I moan about it maybe 2 weeks of the year.
Mitsubishi mirage have low cost of maintanance and it doesnt break down easily and will sure last long..i have 140k mileage on my mirage I just do regular maintenance and the car has no problem at all..
I'd totally get a base 2017 Mirage. Price, fuel economy, reliability, 3 pedals? Check. Better tires, pads, 1 inch drop, bolt-ons, tune might make it a little fun. Slow car fun!
I miss this car this was my baby it was amazing for me definitely something I would buy again no problem with the one I had even went thru 3 car accident in it still ran great r.i.p baby
Scotty Kilmer! I have been watching your videos for the last 6+ months I thank you for your wisdom! That being said I drive a tow truck for AAA fleet owned. I wish there were more experienced mechanics like yourself in my city. You are the best! Thank you so much and take care! Ring that bell folks Scotty knows best!!!
I have a Manual 2009 Good looking Lancer 122k, a 2010 Good Looking automatic 133k. And a Black 2012 Lancer with 152k all of them running good with no issue at all only regular maintenance ( oil and filter change )
Update- I still have my car and it's still very reliable and has been very excellent as well as easy on gas and comfortable ride. I still recommend this car. I'm a private individual not affiliated with any dealer or anything. Just sharing my personal experience. It was about 15 thousand total with out me getting out the paperwork. Easy financing and low costs and payments
@@slothypunk It was 10K, but remember that the older Mirage didn't even come with cruise control or the Bluetooth+touchscreen head unit, and those prices are pre-pandemic inflation. It's worth 13K. That's what I paid for my 2021 new and I have zero regrets.
So funny most reviewers especially Americans are so critical with the Mirage. A $10k bnew with a lot of features like 2din Head Unit, power window, power side mirror, Auto braking Locking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, etc. Yeah the engine only have 3 cylinders but most people who buys it prefer the very good or one of the best on Fuel consumption over speed/power. Do you expect a v8 engine in a car that cost $10k bnew? In a country that gasoline cost higher and have traffic, goodluck to the car that have a powerful engine on which you Car reviewers love.
True its like comparing monkey and fish. And that they prefer monkey coz it can climb fish when really these are made to different people of different uses. Mirage popularity speaks more volume than these reviewers'free style. I know alot of mirage that easily have 200k on em still no problem just the regular maintenance and still run good. Car is built to last
Samus Aran7 I would love to see those same people complaining in an Audi costing too much. Like come on! This is a cheap car. "You get what you pay for"
@@beedslolkuntus2070 Very true. To be fair newer mirages have a decent number of options compared to an older one. Last year we upgraded from a 1998 to a 2017.
Hey Scotty thanks for the info I swerved on the freeway and crashed into the wall so I need to replace my rear shock and front end what brand do you recommend
Honesty is what draws me to Scotty's chanel, I saw from experience that Toyotas, Hondas are the have less headache cars, and Scotty confirms. This tells me he is not playing rich people's card, uncle Sam's card, or whatever else card, he is for real, honestly telling how the things for real are, and is not ashamed of the truth. Scotty is a genuine person I would go on a desert hike with, and trust me I wouldn't go with just anybody. That's for an example. In real life stay away from desert hikes as far as you can!
Just so everyone knows...Google maps aren't "free". They use all of the data they collect on you by using their "free" software. That's why it's "free".
Besides Toyota and Lexus, which automatic transmissions are strong? I can't recall any other car manufacturer that has a good automatic transmission, every one that is talked about is called weak!
Mitsubishi was around along time now... statistics prove that mitsu is one of the best ... and i belive that mutsu us is better than the toyota with respect to reliability new age toyota vehicle....
I bough one for my wife. It has its quirks and faults but it does really not deserve the hate it gets. Yes, the three cylinder engine lacks torque in lower revolutions. But the 75 HP are making a lot of fun on the german autobahn. 110mph are no problem and are comfy to handle
I have a 2005 ex honda civic, still the original transmission its automatic, I did change to royal purple transmission fluid for the longer interval. No issues yet, been since 2015, the car has 127,700 miles. I'm prob. The third owner at least bought it in 2012 at about 54k

I have a 2013 Mirage (CVT). And still going after 210k miles in only 5 years. Yes, I drove a lot thanks to my job...
I appreciate the fun memes you throw in Scotty. Great information with a twist. Really enjoy
Yeah! It's Scotty, always in over drive awesomeness and the memes = the best burn out! "Rev your engines!"
I've read many reviews on the Morage. Professional reviewers hate it with a passion but if you read owner reviews owners tend to love them.
10 k for a simple reliable car is a really good value

Viktor with a K car guys don't care we'll just never buy one. For 10k you can get a much nicer CPO car
I'd imagine the Mirage is a good car for seniors, and maybe for parents that want to put their teenager in a reliable car with modern safety features and no maintenance "surprises."
I can also see it being used as an enthusiast's second car. You keep your nice shiny toy in the garage during the week, and drive the shitbox Mirage to work everyday where the sun will slowly destroy it and other cars will bump into it.
REV UP, YOUR 3 CYLINDERS....
Drivers love their Mitsubishi Mirage as bikers love their Honda Grom.

I got the same. I love mine. 50+mpg and with front wheel drive I take mine to the tops of moutains for hiking. Not one problem at 50k miles so far.

I bought one with 30k miles for less than 7500. 2 years later not a single issue and I get 45 mpg on the highway!
The Mirage is a car that is mostly directed for people that look for economy is not a show off vehicle is great day to day car and if you want to use it to work as a delivery driver it works like a charm since you dont spend that much daily on gas
3 words to describe this car:
Honest
Frugal
Dependable

I've watched a couple of live streams where he record these; it's totally freestyle.
I have a Mirtsubishi Mirage with the bad Jatco CVT. 60.000 miles and counting. No defects. Not even a light bulb. And 50 mpg.
@@StefanBacon 195 tires? Did it rub or hit at all when you turn or driving on rough street?
I had a little black Mirage. One of the best cars I ever owned. Only reason it’s gone is hail damage... Otherwise it’s a really good reliable hatchback.
BigBossIvan older Mirage were good cars
I had 2008 kia rio, no nothing , not even a radio or power steering. that car was tough as nails and I drove the piss out of it. I miss it.
Romeo Jones hey a CVT with over 200k, I bet it’s gonna fall apart in less then 30k
Peter Kapica nah. If you take care of stuff then it lasts.
Would you recommend this car? How many miles are on it now any major failure?
@@jedialfonse Mine was a great little car.. Would recommend a manual transmission. I have a CVT and it's okay.

I bought a 2015 Honda Fit EX in a manual transmission. It's purrrrfect. Still runs like a new vehicle.
Contact Info , enjoy your new car! I wish you the best!
Even a basic car is WAAAAY better than walking or taking the bus. People forget how nice having a reliable car can be.
Well, i usually change my 2013 Mirage oil every 7k miles and has now over 210k in only 5 years. And it has the CVT.
The new Mitsubishi's all take synthetic oil and don't need to be changed until 5k-10k miles depending on the model.
What makes more sense. Buy a $40k fully loaded car or buy a mirage and use the left over $20k to put towards a house?
Agree with most of what you say, Scotty.....but I had a Mitsubishi Eclipse ( actually a clone, Eagle Talon) that went well over 220,000 miles from new and never had a lick of trouble.....every bit as good as my Toyota's.

@@slothypunk It was 10K, but remember that the older Mirage didn't even come with cruise control or the Bluetooth+touchscreen head unit, and those prices are pre-pandemic inflation. It's worth 13K. That's what I paid for my 2021 new and I have zero regrets.
@@JodyBruchon agree! I paid 15k OTD for the G4 5 speed
@@edgaryzen4925 I bet you have zero regrets!
@@JodyBruchon En, oh, pee, ee 😎
Car is built to last
I got mine for $10,300 taxes and everything in.
CANADIAN DOLLARS.
Considering the savings in gas, it paid for itself in 1 year.
Call me satisfied.
I see people making fun of these cars so much, I don’t see anything wrong with it at all.
@@beedslolkuntus2070 People like to complain, rather simple.
Samus Aran7
I would love to see those same people complaining in an Audi costing too much. Like come on! This is a cheap car.
"You get what you pay for"
@@beedslolkuntus2070 Very true. To be fair newer mirages have a decent number of options compared to an older one. Last year we upgraded from a 1998 to a 2017.
0:51 "Here's the thing: Why spend $200 to update the navigation? Instead sell that car, buy a 1994 Celica and a AAA map" there ya go!
Bro the pictures he uses lmaoooo Can't believe I just found out about this guy 😂
He's hilarious. Love this guy
Scotty was the first one which suggested to use google maps instead of nav maps lol
Just so everyone knows...Google maps aren't "free". They use all of the data they collect on you by using their "free" software. That's why it's "free".
Right said
If the product is free, then you are the product :-)
I love the pictures that pop up! You’re so funny Scotty!!!
Besides Toyota and Lexus, which automatic transmissions are strong? I can't recall any other car manufacturer that has a good automatic transmission, every one that is talked about is called weak!
None, Toyota is king.
Um... Go to the dragstrip some time, those cars are not running Toyota transmissions Old GM and Chrysler automatics are tough as nails.
Mercedes, minus the electronic parts...
I like Honda autos! Change fluid at 30000 they last forever at least in a civic !
I don't know, I put 210 k miles on my 2013 mirage with CVT in only 5 years and stills running without problems
Don't forget Mirage i have done U turn in front of a car park gate tunnel, perfect city car
I'll take a manual transmission over an automatic tranny anytime!
I swear... the real unsung hero of the Scotty Kilmer videos is the editor... kudos to you good sir...
Haha he put a fan 🤣🤣🤣
I have a 2005 ex honda civic, still the original transmission its automatic, I did change to royal purple transmission fluid for the longer interval. No issues yet, been since 2015, the car has 127,700 miles. I'm prob. The third owner at least bought it in 2012 at about 54k
Or get a nice ten year old garaged under 60k miles car that was originally 30+ grand for less than 8 or 9 grand
SterrShow so basically any Buick or olds cutlass
@@funnypranker34 oldsmobile wasnt even around in 2008
Yep. You'd be so surprised at what you can find for just a couple thousand by spending an afternoon browsing your local Craigslist
