You’re welcome! Good question. That part is a bit tedious and can be tricky. I just had to set them by trial and error. I used figure eight knots on a bight to create the loops at the end and those are fairly easy to adjust to change the overall line length.
Thank you for the awesome explanations! I really appreciate the quick release and pulley recommendations. I'm looking at getting a house with garage soon and was wondering what height you'd recommend the garage ceiling to be at a minimum. Average ceiling height for garages is only 8 feet, so what did you go with to make it fit well?
Love your ingenuity here. How do you find this works with the extra weight of the BDV Duo? Any additions or changes you would suggest since changing to the heavy tent?
Good question. It works just the same. I didn’t have to change any of the components. Just opted for straps this time instead of 2x4s. The weight of the tent is well within the working load limit of the weakest components in the system. For example, each eye has a 250-lb WLL, but only has to support about 40 lbs. The pulleys mounted to the wall support 400 lbs, so it’s plenty. They are cheap pulleys from ACE, so they have quite a bit of friction. If you wanted to pull with less effort, that’s only thing I’d change, but you pay quite a bit more for those. These do the job.
Yeah, I had to drill one new hole on each bracket and use 1/4-20 bolts to fit the Sherpa insert nuts. Add a lock washer and fender washer and it works like a charm.
Been waiting for the video ever since you posted on IG … thanks for the video, from one Barcelona brotha to another 🤙🏼🤙🏼
You’re welcome! Hope it’s helpful for you.
I learnt Prusik Knot in US Army Ranger School - didnt think it would come in handy after 20years
I use it tying off to a climbing rope when I'm bow hunting from a tree stand. If you fall you stop quick.
Great Vid. Had planned on doing this, but didn’t know where to start.
Awesome! I’m glad it was helpful for you!
Well done! Wish I had the higher ceilings
Thanks! Yeah, they come in handy.
Thanks for the great video! Any tips on getting the 4-lines down to the boards supporting the tent the right length to keep the tent level?

8-foot doors are the key. Then I think the ceilings in my garage are about 10 feet tall.

Love it. How tall is your garage door? I wish I could get mine in there. This would be an amazing option.
I have an 8-foot door in my garage, but my tent also fit in our last house that had a 7.5-ft. door.
7 ft door. I may be able squeeze in it with just the rack but there’s a reason I did my lift in my driveway.
Nice
Step one have enormous garage. Hahaha. Nice set up.
Yeah, that’s an important one. When we were buying, that was a prerequisite haha.
How did you get the front runner mounts on the cross bars? Assuming you had to use different bolts?

@@nickmcdvtt Thank you! I've been scratching my head with that issue. Was thinking carriage bolts may work, but didn't love that result.
@BlueIndigoOverland No problem! Yeah, carriage bolts don’t really work very well in the T-track aluminum extrusions.
My tent has been on my truck for the last two years. Ive wanted to take it off but haven't figured out where to put it. Thing is coming off soon.
How tall is your garage door opening? No way my 4runner is fitting through mine with a tent on top
I have 8-ft. doors. That was a prerequisite when we bought this house haha
