I'm from Northeast Ohio, so I've followed Koz, and Red House Painters, and Sun Kil Moon for quite awhile now. This is just such an awesome cover of one of his classics. I think Lir Shilton is from the UK, but to hear her sing this song as honestly as she does, I could believe she was from the Steel Valley by Massillon, Ohio, USA.
Mark Kozelek must be so glad to have Lir doing his song. I think she puts more power into this than her own material. This song makes your larynx vibrate, following along. Teary eyes, too. Too bad that more of the crowd at this festival didn't shut up.
שלום לירון, הגעתי לקליפ שלך רק מפני שחיפשתי גירסאות קאבר לשיר הזה. חשבתי בהתחלה שמדובר באיזה פסטיבל אי-שם בצפון דקוטה או דרום-קרוליינה או משהו כזה. אמנם התפלאתי כשראיתי את השם "לירון", אבל זרמתי. בקיצור - הייתי ממש בשוק(!!!) כשפתאום בקליפ נראה השלט "מתנ"ס שדרות" :-) איזו הפתעה!!! לאחר מכן "כמובן" כבר זיהיתי קצת עברית ברקע... בקיצור - בחרת שיר מדהים וביצעת אותו מצוין, מארק קוזלק הוא זמר אדיר (הייתי בהופעה שלו בזאפה לפני כמה חודשים :-) אבל אני בספק רב אם חוץ ממך מישהו שם הכיר את השיר.
