Hey both, thanks for the amazing content! This series is really top.
I have a question on the escape as I’ve been trying it lately with mixed success. I generally have trouble with the following reactions and it’d be great if you could share your insights:
    a) opponent’s laying low and not giving me enough “back space” to knee bump them and turn
    b) opponent’s really going for the crossface and it kills the entire move

Thanks! Yeah depending on how low your opponent is it can be quite difficult. There are still 3 more mount escapes videos coming out so that will help. With a cross face you are forced to turn your hips the way your head is being turned. So have escapes practiced on both sides.

I just drilled the technique today and I have the same problems. I can set the frames with my arms but It's just hard to turn and get to your knees.

1:39....even if I have no experience in BJJ, I can see that certain momevents and body mechanics are clearly connected to other martial arts...here I "can see" (obviously it is just my point of view) the opening kamae of the okinawan kata "Naihanchi", the version which is practised alongside the lineage of Matsubayashi-Ryu...

@@RVVBJJ I mean the two hands pulling down. The handposition reminds me of the beginning of the kata Naihanchi.

Lol, it's much much harder then this guys show. Don't get fooled with this..
The guy is not pinching his knees while riding the mount, at all, or staying heavy on the hips.

There are several videos talking about escaping mount, and it barely scratches the surface. We never said this was easy, and it's a pretty standard escape.
