Bob Dylan's outtakes are far better than most artists best songs.
Bob's outtakes better than most folks intakes..
Remember Spanky of the Little Rascals
He would say to your comment
"And How!"
Ditto
agree , but Bob seems to throw the gems straight into the safe, for his own timing to release, he is such a Bootlegger😎🌹
TRUTH!!
I can’t put into words how Dylan affected my life . Thank God I found his music .
God/ Dylan never changed. The two reason my husband told Bob why he loved his music. The lyrics never changed. Jesus is still gonna make up his dyin' bed, just as Bob sang about on his first album.
yea
spin in this order Slow Train A Coming , Saved, Shot of Love......thank me later :)
I'm 59 in Memphis all my life. My Mom sat me down n front of an old Victrola, albums& singles& A.M.& then F.M. stero & I didn't know I was 8 at the time. Setting in apile of Bob Dylan ,Jimmie Reed ,Jerry Lee& all the rest& shed explain where he was coming from. She died of cancer after taking me 2 C my brother twice. The first was ' Buddokan' tour& a year later all 'Slow Train' & it was perfect timing. I was raised in unspeakable circumstances. Ain't no tongue can tell. The iro y is when I saw him those first two times, my mom& my molester were on each side. But the inspiration of truth. music& God's will can't b stopped. Seen him 16 times now& likely not again till the 'City of Gold' Anyway, God's used his gift as a stable, wise presence in fucked up but world that w b restored.. Also, it made me have to write in the 5th grade& it was published in a book ' Memphis Mosaics'&Memphis Press Schimitar. No, big deal. Though my days seem to b shortly numbered for days, I give praise to God for how all things r created by, through& 4 Him. I got thousands of songs, poems& art I need to divert asap to whoever meant to be. Contains autobio( unbeleveable.) God Knows.

Yessss! 👌
That great line ended up in another song.

Bob has written and sung hundreds of hours of songs that nobody else has heard. He will be setting the musical world on fire long after he has left thus planet...
Long live Bob Dylan❤❤❤
A day doesn’t go by without listening to Bob and I’m forever grateful for being alive during his time on this spinning rock. My mornings always start with “Changing of the Guards” 😊
thats really great … so will I
Oooommmggggg what an album imma right?
such a great way to start
Changing of guards is really uplifting

Oh bob❤️
@Bob Dylan Faker.. 🙄
@Bob Dylan is that really you Bob?
Also loved she rough to look at but righteously fit
Aah, it's heavenly to be alive to listen to this kind of songs.
really really thankful to have had Bob all my thinking life. And St. John of the Cross too.
I found an email notification of the reply from Bob Dylan, but tracking back I can't find it
Imagine writing this, recording it, and not releasing it for 40+ years. He is the greatest of all time.
@Bob Dylan Argentina is the place!!
Idk about that last part. This song is pretty goddamn annoying. Cant comment on the lyrics though. Might be some masterful writing. Too bad I cant understang anything hes saying since he sounds like a drunk turtle with half a mouth.
@Diego Cordero an amazing song also :-)
@Bob Dylan Are you a false prophet rob?
@@7yk041 you can't understand that? you're the drunk turtle ;)
I have never been so excited for an upcoming Bootleg series. Always been obsessed with Dylan’s 80s stuff. Infidels was one of my first Dylan albums. So excited to see what they dig up from shot of love, infidels, and empire. The most underrated Dylan era in my opinion.
😳🤣🤣🤣
Here here
Don’t Fall Apart On Me Tonight and I and I are two of my faves on here. Anything with Knopfler and Mick Taylor has to be great!
I've also always loved Down In The Groove which is an album that many dismiss; not every song, but about 80 percent is brilliant!! Listen for the lowest bass voice I've ever heard on Ninety Miles An Hour, also Let's Stick Together..(the marriage vows you know are very sacred; he inserts these new lyrics) Shenandoah (brilliant) Rank Strangers To Me (great) Death Is Not The End (how true, and profound) When Did You Leave Heaven; Dylan is sooooo spiritual. God bless Bob Dylan!!
So what did you think of the set? I think it's one of the best in the series.
All the stuff dylan thought was crap and threw in the garbage still better than anything on the charts in 2021
You just stated a FACT
Fuck yes
And they say he was crap in the 1980s never crap
@@raynoller6225 down in the groove is pretty bad. Oh mercy on the other hand...
@@camillaquelladegliaggettiv4303 I actually like Down In The Groove, it’s got a rough edge, even though with hindsight it’s probably just outtakes ✌🏻
Thank you for everything you make my world an easier place to hangout. Love. Cheryl
Hello dear, it’s nice meeting you on here
57 years old and I'm just now getting Bob...life changing
Hi Bob I'm in the East Tenn. Knoxville area and at the moment concerts are back to normal no restrictions...thanks for the music from a new old fan
Enjoy
Welcome, friend!!
I am 77 this month in2022, and have been listening to Dylan since early20s.Never a Stones fan, they can't write like Dylan!!!!!
I m 54 💙love him
Another Bob gem. In 100 years they'll still be unearthing gems in the Dylan diamond mine.
yahoo - GREAT COMMENT!
Actually this is my new favorite Dylan song. After 60 years when you thought you heard them all
My thoughts exactly. Absolutely beautiful, perverse, full Dylan. And the Band backing him. Perfection.
i guess it’s never too late to release a cool song
Nice pfp lol 👍
Let us hear fantastic musicians creat fantastic music and keep restrictions out of the equation, give it no quarter, just let us be us.

@Bob Dylan if you are Bob Dylan could you do two things for me : let me know your handicap; could you draw a picture of me, I can send you a pencil.
@Bob Dylan I live in Huddersfield West Yorkshire, Corvid is supposed to be under control, though the local hospital was reported to be inundated with Corvid patients, when I went there , I was virtually the only person (got a piece of glass in my foot) I asked the staff, they were exasperated "where are all these Corvid patients we're supposed to have " I've had it, it's not great, couldn't breathe hardly but the fatigue was incredible. 8 weeks off work. You sound like me, I like to keep my ear to the ground.
Saw your artwork in Leeds, love it. There was one reminded me of a Robert Frost poem "One Aquainted With the Night" I love the freedom of the earlier painting and the more recent are fascinating. I wish that you'd exhibit at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. You'll get more interest, loads of art minded people go there, aiming to buy art work, but in the Victoria Quarter Leeds they have shopping for clothes on their mind. but I like to pop in when I go to Leeds. Harrogate is over rated, York would be better, full of tourists. Keep on doing great work. Hey did you know that Paul Simon learnt Scarborough Fair in Huddersfield, it's real name is called Task, (it has a witches chant, if you've noticed)and the ancient sheet music is in a music museum.
Great to hear from.
I guess this means great don’t always die young
we are very blessed💜
There is nobody more perverse, crazy, and intriguing than Bob Dylan. He rejects songs that any other artist would kill for.
@Bob Dylan no one is falling for that
@@bramsteenhoek2674 LOL. I am pretty sure Bob Dylan has never been on the Internet.
@@apemantus67 idk if ur joking but i hope you are
He’s not going to be begging for attention if he is 😜😂
You do realize this is an early version of Foot of Pride, another song of his? But yeah, Foot of Pride was not released at first either:)
You want a good couplet? DYLAN'S YOUR MAN!
Bob Dylan is the most incredible, diverse, adaptable, and fluent Songwriter of All Time.
Bob has the Talent, & the Ability to write Lyrics that are Rational, or mixed up with Unrelated Verbage. This approach always keeps you searching & wondering what exactly he is trying to say in this storybook..... and I think that's the Idea behind his writing.
That's one reason I always have to listen to the cut 3 or 4 times to get into his groove.
And here is the most amazing part of his Gift.... He probably wrote the Lyrics in about 15 to 20 minutes, off the top of his head, or wherever Bob stores His Treasures at.
It's a DIRECT LINE - from THE LORD to BOB - to US. Thank you for the DIVINE INTERVENTION
Ele é incrivel
Demais.
Many of these lyrics also appear in “Foot of Pride”, this must have been an early version that became “Foot of Pride” later. I love it!
Thanks, I was confused. I remember Lou Reed doing Foot Of Pride at the Dylan anniversary, and only some of this sounded like that.
Yes , first time I heard this -I was feeling so confused until it hit me ! Love them both
You are right on target. Light a candle for Jeff Rosen for dreaming up and executing the genuine bootleg series. Mining these various studio versions. Not only do we get great music, but we get glimpses of his ‘creative process.’ It’s like having versions of a master painting en route to the final view!
Yep, but it's made into a different song...
For those that are Human, Bob Dylan’s music is immortal! Live on Bob forever! We love ya out here!
@Bob Dylan Why do you pretend to be him???
Not enough superlatives describe how much this man never ceases to amaze. A thrown away track from the 80s has me listening several times back-to-back
It is hard to believe that as a devotee towards Bob's word since 1964.....I only discovered this song from his about a week ago........I'm learning it in earnest and am thrilled to be able to appreciate this incredible work late in my life.....that's Bobby for us tho....keeps giving in ways we can't anticipate.......so enriching.
Who do you suppose Bob may be singing about? It sounds like someone who was whacked by powerful people and poisoned by a lady of the night?
It's just fantastic. The surprise switch to minor just before chorus gets me every time
Me too
This is sung with elan while Foot of Pride is so angry, yet so much of the lyrics are shared.
Two different songs really, in spite of sharing so many words.
When I was growing up in the 60’s and 70’s, Dylan was playing in the background, all the time, it seems like, in our house. Brings back many happy memories. Add to Dylan, there was B.B. King, Joplin, Crosby Stills and Nash , Leon Russell and many great artists of that era. People actually thought for themselves back then.
Crosby Stills and Nash were self-regarding hippy poo toothpasted out from the bum of the sixties
This is awesome been listening to Bob for sixty years and his songwriting still amazes me
Hello dear, how’re you doing today?
it’s nice meeting you on here
Absolutely true my friend
How in the world can somebody can come up with lyrics like that?
Don't ask me, I have no idea.
Can't believe I'm hearing this now for the first time. Wow, thanks Bob.
Beyond the very country blues gem I am hearing right now, I am absolutely floored by the fact that the GOAT himself blessed you with a paragraph of personal thanks, the man's sage like persona and his humility are virtues we should all be thankful for.
May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
And may you stay
Forever young
Amazing how current it still sounds. Like it was just released or something.
You know that in 30 seconds?
"In these times of compassion where conformitys a fashion".

@@willyhearrell9060 For all things is a right time!
Now this comes to us from a total diff time and style after “Shadow Kingdom” 👌
But the Release of Bootleg series16 of ‘80-‘85 as from. Sept.17 is here now too❣️Closer to..
Wow, this is sweet, sweet honey to my ears! Thank you so much.
I'm amazed that this set of lyrics could produce two completely different feeling songs (the other being Foot Of Pride, one of my favorites).
Two great guitarists took part in the sessions - Mark Knopfler and Mick Taylor. Knopfler was shocked when Dylan left Blind Willie McTell as an outtake. I expect other outtakes of the same quality on 17 September.
The most sublime thing, to me, is that the album he released last year, at the age of 79, is, in my opinion, the best thing he's ever done. But it's not necessarily the best he'll ever do. That's our Bob.🌟💜🌟
Basically the "Foot Of Pride" lyrics, with a great chorus and a totally different vibe.
Bob is now, 95% the music I listen to, no exaggeration. What a great song this is.
Add me to that list
So glad I ain't the only one. I keep trying to expand... and everything else just doesnt come close.
I love Bob`s voice, It sounds amazing here
Speechless, amazing lyrics and the guitar riff drifting along is incredible, I give up he is so good its ridiculous
The Bootleg Series always has these amazing hidden gems
never too late to get another bob dylan gem
I’ve been listening to his last album”Rough and Rowdy Ways”. It is an Absolute Masterpiece…way to go Bob !🙏
But his voice is totally gone,
Its sounds like 3b crushed limestone being placed by a vibratory soil compactor
@@directapprec You're missing out, my friend. Please try to adjust your ears to Bob, you won't be disappointed. Key West, I Contain Multitudes, Mother of Muses, -these are giant songs. Give it another shot, my friend!
Ain't bought it yet.
@@directapprec I guess all that shoutin tore his voice up.
Too many cigarettes and years of playing in smoky clubs have destroyed his voice,it’s a wonder he’s performing at all.
This guy continues to blow my mind over and over again.
I cannot say Dylan voice is beautiful or the best in any way, what I can say is his voice is the most interesting I have ever come across in 70 years of listening to them all, the only singing voice I never get bored or tired of listing to. No one else is even remotely close.
It's a good comment: How does he get so many words into a Verse?
Very true. But I must add one more voice, Mr. John Lennon's.
I noted your post... Thanks & well-observed! Nobody else but Dylan can stuff so m
Sorry, I hit a wrong button in earlier message attempt... Liked your comments. A version of 'Foot of Pride'. This song I can play over & over more than ABBA songs...
You don't want, or expect Enrico Caruso with Dylan - no-one else can stuff so many words into a single verse..
Hidden gem buried underground so many years, only to surface now.
Timed perfectly like fine wine
I just heard this song for the very first time. I feel this one deep down in my soul.
The exceptional Bob Dylan.....the greatest poet of the 20th....and 21st century. Thank you for the music...thank you for the words.
More than that the inspiration the sheer ✨power to create thought beyond ourselves. These generations who know not to listen or read his lyrics have short changed themselves. A humanitarian lyricist if only more would listen 🎶
Just when I though I couldn't be more surprised by Dylan. How many times have we all been surprised by his releases?
This bootleg series is going to be excellent. There are a lot of songs happening here in Dylan’s unrealeased catalogue. Foot of Pride has been a hard hitter for years. This is excellent.
"Bob Dylan" is the greatest musical creation of all time. Rocker, folkie, poet, punk, preacher, drifter, crooner, sinner, and a saint.

Listening to Bob and the Band playing this song for the third time now, I realize that I've been waiting 40 years to hear it. Whew. I can rest now - maybe for a minute......
This song is fucking amazing.
Can't stop listening to this.
Almost every other songwriter in the world would have considered it a masterpiece (I'd agree) yet apparently Bob didn't think it was upper to scratch for even an album track 🤯
Pure magic, in fact all of his songs are amazing. Bob Dylan every time .
Oh this is why he got the noble prize, dah.
It's amazing how many artists Bob Dylan influenced in song writing
Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak were heavy Dylan fans and seem to be influenced to ''Think Differently'' prior to Itunes, Apple Music, Ipod etc ....just sayin '
4 SURE..TAUGHT them HOW. G.B.--B.D.
Wow! That was amazing. Alternate takes, through the ‘80s. I’m up for everything he is generous enough to provide.

Reminds me of a cross between of “Up to Me” & “Tangled up in Blue” where he has that repetitive melody throughout the song with great Lyrics and Story Telling
The music sounds like a chain, always circellin`around , come always back ..Bob is the smartest songwriter ever and is urgently needed
Gott to love The Band backing Bob. They don't get anywhere near the props they deserve for the quality of music they put out.
I've been thinking about that all week. The world seems to love Idols. How often to you see five at one time. The band is the magic too.
Incredible song, very interesting how it eventually morphed into 'Foot of Pride'. Almost a different song altogether.
Foot of Pride (Also superb Version)
Thank you Bob Can't get it out of my head It's that good ! Love his voice and lyrics Thank God it's here This song should not be missed
This is the Bob I love.
Keeping the production simple and letting the words speak for themselves.
This is the start of his reborn period . Tom Petty helped him find his touch again.
Love it the poetic Bob Dylan! "You know what they say about being nice to people on the way up, you might meet em on the way down".. love the scenes he creates! all guided understood a mindful Dylan of the times circumstances. Infused with much of the truth a wonderful way with words!! LOVE THIS MAN I'm not a fan I'm an admirer of truth, story telling, and honesty. Like it or not Bob Dylan does not mince words. One truly needs to be aware of the world around them, to be read unbiased to truly appreciate his songs, his story telling in music, A wonderful mentor, creative and inspiring thinking. ❤thankfully I found this talented man was I was very young for me it made all the difference. He and his creative circle and those that mentored him he's always given praise and thankful. In this song he repeats just what his heart said throughout his time, in the line, " you know what they say about being nice to people on your way up, you just may meet em again on the way back down." That's Dylan
Very raw and unfinished..... just the way I like em', but them again, what do you expect from BOB DYLAN? He's legendary and one of a kind ....a treasure.

Great song, but he´s right on time, never too early or too late :)
This song is spectacular dear Bob. Indescribable, the harmonies poke their heads into the clouds of heaven.
Live forever Bobby dills
Whoever is responsible for the influx of these older songs put to video is MY hero...mucho mucho thanks
Never too late to hear Dylan tunes as coal over many years becoming diamonds. Keep o so many hopes alive in otherwise heart-broken and physically wrecked junk yard tokens of fine virtuous children who at one time were soured by abandonment, abuse and exploitation. Thanks Bob for always..
An amazing earlier incarnation of "Foot of Pride". (When Lou Reed covered that at the tribute concert, it seemed as if it had been written for him.). I will be listening again.
Yes. Many of these lyrics we’re used in “Foot of Pride” on the Bootleg Series 1-3. I like “Foot of Pride” much, much more.
@@FlaschDJ Thanks for the heads up, Flash - I'd almost forgotten about this song a year after first hearing it, but it was great to listen again. It's lovely his voice in this song. I remind me of that in "desire" album. So transparent and crystal-like. I feel like when I listened to him over and over. Just like a drug. And searching for the secret of that voice colour I thought it was misterious.
