    Hi Katherine, I’ve loved organizing my entire life and I decided this is the year I’m starting my own business doing it. I want to say thank you for all your wisdom- it’s priceless for a newbie like me. You’re so appreciated!!!

    What do you usually charge for a whole home declutter?

    • @KatherineLawrenceCPO
      @KatherineLawrenceCPO  5 років тому +3

      It depends on so many factors, like how many team members I have on the job and the length of time I'm onsite. I start with an Action Plan @$199, if I'm working in 3 hour sessions without a team, I charge between 2 and 3 hundred per session. Pricing will vary a lot by where you live and your experience. What market are you serving?

    Hi Katherine what is your actual professional website you use for your clients to schedule sessions? I tried googling but I couldn't find your site.

    I am thinking about getting into the business and was wondering at what point you give your client a final price including all of the other expense eg. Storage containers, haulers fees. I just figured I would not know eg how many storage containers I would need until I actually started going through the clutter.

    • @KatherineLawrenceCPO

      Exactly, you do not really know. I book the service first (either a consultation or a work session), then I add on additional fees and products as needed - closet installs, hauling, shopping services, products... Every client is a little different so I don't do big project plans or estimates.

      Have you found any organizing businesses in your area that are hiring? It may be hard to find in smaller markets, but worth reaching out to people. You can also look into related businesses like closet installers, the Container Store, senior move managers, and estate sales companies 🤔

      That's great! You can book 1 on 1 coaching time, but a great way to start is take my intro course www.udemy.com/course/organize-for-a-living-becoming-a-professional-organizer/ , then join my private facebook group for students where we will have weekly discussions. Are you looking for a career change or to get back into the workforce?

    Would you recommend this job for someone with allergies such as from dust or pets?

    • @KatherineLawrenceCPO
      @KatherineLawrenceCPO  5 років тому +3

      Great question!!! I do have a dust allergy and I have to take allergy pills everyday and also wear a mask and gloves in dusty homes. Depending on you niche you could be exposed to a lot of animals and certainly dust. For example if you were an office organizer or virtual organizer you would not have this exposure. Choose your niche wisely to have the best control over your environment!

      What other type of companies were you referring to that you work along side? I have worked with cleaning companies that don't organize and banks that wanted the total home organized before the estate sales. When you do full home declutter I find it hard to know what to do with items they don't want to donate because they think they have value yet they are not selling: precious moments, beanie babies, old records, china, etc. what do you do in these circumstances?
