lmao just shoot them in the air or glide after them, w/o redeploy build fights would literally be nonexistent because you would get shot down. plus, storm wont be too much of an issue, and also mobility is much better. There is more of a skill gap and less RNG competitively because instead of RNG for a launchpad or port a rift, you can just glide. Also, the skill gap isnt decreasing because you can easily kill someone that is gliding with good aim and practice

Matthew Lee literally played one game yesterday where I out built this one dude then he flew away then I followed then out built his ass again and then he flew away again then same thing happened and guess what, I ran out of mats and 2 other people pulled up and started shooting at me. They literally just need to box themselves and then edit and jump out. They just turtle then glide away

All they need to do is increase mats from farming by 100%, then you don't spend forever farming.
Or double the damage people take while gliding so there's counterplay.

There was a time where someone whos been playing the game as long as i have was able to play aggressive and still manage to win games. Now anyone who's scared can just hit that little spacebar and disappear into oblivion and chances Are, with the increase of players building now, there's a 90% chance I'll get caught in a build battle with no mats cause some idiot decided to overbuild and once he loses high ground dips

Out of all the big time streamers right now ever since the beginning when he first invented the TMdoublepump i knew i was resonating with Daequan. Growing up i lived on Maplestory 1, Gunz the Duel, Gunbound, Soldier Front, and a few other OG classics that if you were in the know, you had these super fun games to play with a decent skill gap. In Gunz the duel i knew how to butterfly and k style pretty well so naturally for me when fortnite released i was using the double pump as well, but Daequan refined it and broke it down for everyone in a way that was concise and effective for new players to pick it up too know what im saying hes a good dude he wants his viewers to know all the best strats. Once again i completely feel for Daequan you need to dedicate TIME, EVERY GAME, to farm materials!! a % increase in materials farmed like in blitz mode would be exponentially greater for the pace of this game with the addition of the redeployable glider. it only makes sense that if you increase the pace of the game overall with people flying around the map at about 21 mph opposed to 12 mph that you need to increase the rate at which you can farm materials before you get swanton'd by a new team and or 3rd party as they are rotating because they didnt farm materials, but you are currently farming materials. However my biggest issue with the new glider update, being an OG Xbox One (big fat first xbox one) player, is the amount of lag, hitching, and ping spikes this glider update brings into the real solo, the real duos, and the real squad modes, that i kind of take seriously. In 50v50, disco domination, and all that jazz modes when everyone is flying around lagging on eachother and memeing in the game its fun and funny. Personally i dont have fun in solos, duos, or squads when i die to lag in game. There was NEVER lag in this game before this glider update to all modes. The only recent lag before that is the new glitch where you shoot but technically you died already so your shot doesnt count lag. And thats fine, because technically you died so your shot shouldnt count, however its still obnoxious to watch because if you are dead already then why are you able to shoot. thats a stupid update that needs a patch. but with the glider redeploy specifically, players are STAYING IN THE HORIZONTAL POSITION AND SHOOTING ME IN THE FACE. EPICCCC PLEASE. This feature is so laggy. if the dont stay horizontal the game starts to ping spike during the build fight because not only is my team now flying in to the battle, so is this guys team and it turns into a chaos lag fest???? DrDisrespect used to LOVE how OPTIMIZED and CRISP this game was compared to PUBG. Is no one else lagging this much from the gliders?? I really dont understand how I and many other players can play this game since November and now all of a sudden there are CRITICAL CLOSE TO DEATH SITUATIONS that are seemingly unwinnable because of lag, BECAUSE OF A NEW FEATURE THAT WAS ADDED. It makes my head want to explode sometimes. sorry for this novel
TLDR, Daequan is also an OG gamer from Maplestory 1, Gunz the Duel, Gunbound, Soldier Front, and many others, Daequan is a meta setter and big influencer and teacher, the pace of the game changed and we need mat % increase, The game has gotten increasingly more laggy before the glider update with the shooting after you are technically dead glitch, now gliders bring to the games hitching, lag spikes, horizontal players shooting you in the face, and unwinnable situations due to lagging. This game started out as the most optimized shooter/builder shooter on the market, why is it a lag fest all of a sudden with no materials?

I totally understand where your coming from. I've been playing since day one of fortnite's release. I was very new to console when fortnite was released so it was the first shooting game I ever played since I had only played Wii games before that. From Season 1-4 it was the best and most fun game I'd ever played in my life. I remember gradually mastering building, double pumping and AR accuracy. However, at the end of season 3 and throughout season 4, I started to notice slight corruptions in the game, very suttle though, such as the re-releasement of rare skins, introduction of C4, small nerfs to skilled weapons. After noticing these, I theorized to my friends that Epic Games might start going corrupt, of course they were so in love with the game that they couldn't bring themselves to believe it. I don't blame them. But after season 4, my friends gradually stopped playing fortnite 1 by 1 until I myself stopped playing. And now look at the game, it's been completely sugarcoated for the little kids to play (the customers). I very rarely play it now and each time I come back it gets dumber and dumber and with this new glider update it keeps lagging and keeping me alive 10 seconds after I die.
Combos Tv There’s no lag for me on Xbox one. Try checking servers cause I switched to Europe to see how sweaty the players are and my ping shot up to 150. It went back down when I switched back to NA East

The game would grow if they didnt change it and some of the changes are good. I started in season 3 and I personally like turbo building and the auto switch when you run out of mats, and first shot accuracy. I love the new guns they add, I like having slurps and mini shields. I like having to run without holding a sprint button so I can use the sprint key for another keybind. I like how the storm moves now, so they guy doesn't camp in the middle. Let's be real, at one point double pump was op and everyone was rocking it, it tore through brick and metal, shot faster than the tac and did way more damage, but I will say they shouldn't have removed it, cause after all the nerfs they did to shotguns it was fine, underpowered even. There are pros to the cons to what that they added, and I don't think I would still be playing if they left the game the same at season 3. It's already a boring repetitive game and if they never changed anything the game would die faster. Just my opinion.

I have to admit Fortnite has lost its quality but you also need to understand that if they kept Fortnite the same, the skill gap would be too high and casuals would leave the game , and when casuals leave the game so does a large chunk of the game's clout will go with it.

Daequan,The game has evolved, its still just as competitive as before, it's just different.The only things that truly make it less competitive are RNG, luck in finding items, and low mat drops.Sure people can swoop in like the Air Force, however, you can also swoop out if you built up already. And usually if you are high enough people can't swoop higher than you (unless they already had a higher ground).The distinct advantage for builders now is that if some 3rd party knocks your structure down you aren't screwed.People escaping isn't necessarily less competitive either, now you just have to hit more mid-long range shots which is why RNG is becoming more of an issue, but still not terrible.

Up to 3 things should happen:
1. boost mats and increase the amount you can carry. In save the world I can carry 5k of each material.
2. Increase the speed that the storm moves in
3. Put a cool down timer/limit use of glider to like 5 redeploys per match.
1,2, or all 3 of those things added into the game would make it so much better.
At first I thought the glider redeploy was something that we could get used to but everything you explained changed my mentality

I get wins all the time but i just land paradise no matter what the bus is and rush every fight you don’t have to camp actually camping will make it harder in the long run because everyone with my playstyle is getting better when campers are not and when most people are amazing you are still bad or ok it will be a lot harder to win

@Ian Miller farming and rotating definitely gives you a way better chance of winning than fighting does... At the end of the game, you have over 2.5k mats and everyone else has like 100-700. You rotate to the 4th circle first or the moving circle and you can literally build up and guard and you will win pretty much every game. Just hold down the trigger at them while they try to move in using up all their mats. It is lame. Remove redeploy and buff mat collection slightly

It’s become wayyyyy to easy to build in fortnite on PS4 and you’re always getting third partied ,honestly this games peak was season 3 and early season 4 ,it was fun it was balanced ,double pump and not everyone was bob the builder on day one of building Epic is trying to hard to make a game we don’t want
Easy building on console is so important because it creates a skill gap which you clearly haven’t adapted to hence complaining about people being bob the builders. However this is like the opposite point of the video as dae wants a more competitive fortnite where the good players come out on top more often
James Madden I’m a pretty decent player it’s just annoying on console how it’s become so easy that everyone builds the second your shoot them ,some players aren’t even good and build quick because how easy it is now
Gaming Paladin that’s the way game should be played tho. If the player isn’t good yeah he can spin and hold r2 or l2 but then once you get close you should be able to out build him and kill him. Console building being easy is so important and one of the best things about fortnite console
Here’s a suggestion that I believe will make everyone happy, now I’m glad glider redeploy is being removed, I am also seeing people who aren’t. Here’s a scenario, two people are in a build battle, somebody comes along destroys our bottom bases out, in the current state of the game you’re not allowed to place any bounce pads, launch pads etc., what if epic changes it to where if you’re quick enough you can place a bounce pad, and bounce to safety instead of gliding away.
As soon as the redeploy came out I described exactly what you talked about in this video, everyone said “Your just trash” “You can’t build” “it will stop you loosing to fall damage” “This updates great” yeah I can build I started playing at the beginning of season 2, but I knew from the start it would result in people loosing the incentive to challenge high ground, when they can just turtle, and redeploy, it doesn’t just reset the fight it’s actually beneficial to lose the high ground and run away as if the other player chases it give the advantage back to you as you can shoot/build first

I get your point but there's another side to that coin - the glider redeploy gives a quicker, more flowing gameplay. It's a fair tradeoff IMO.
