For sure a good ammount of 23mm against a ship could damage the bridge. destroy radars, communication antennas, sensors and other sensetive equipment. But i really don't know if it will be clever for a battleship to approach a coast line and sail into the effective range of ZU23 which is around 2.5 km.

Emperor Palpatine The main reason is because of huge recoil and movement of the gun. So, you are shooting a few rounds, check again sights are on target and wait of smoke and dust to disappear around. Each gun has 2 pairs of barrels, so overheating is not a problem, as you can change barrels in seconds.
Battleships went out of service a while ago. Realistically speaking, however, you wouldn´t do any significant damage to them. All vital systems are protected by heavy armor, much heavier than anything the 23 mm round can penetrate. Rangefinders, telemeters, observation planes, etc (all sorts of equipment mounted above the armor zone) can be subject to damage, though.

Love the 23-2, but the Shilka is where it's at. I'm quite impressed how long this system has lasted and how effective at antipersonnel work it is.
